Rhogal commands his sea rot spores to more aggressively eat the undead captain's innards, especially whatever her cranium might still house. The spores travel in an updraft of water and do as commanded. A moment later, the captain's movements become jittery. A second after that, her rotted joints look like they are about to give way... but they don't. A jolt of undeath reanimates the captain into action. (Undead Captain takes 6 necrotic damage.)
Hun recovers and rights himself up, taking a moment to notice a fallen Mr. Thicc. As much as the construct is important to the artificer, It is Yulmiath who needs the most immediate attention. Hun bursts forth, letting his momentum carry him a bit further than he himself thought possible {AH-84} and touches the dragonborn with newfound divine power. (Yulmiath recovers 8 HP.)
His companions' situation is dire but Krodhen does not want to keep playing catch-up. He goes on the offensive, the best kind of defensive tactic. With another well-placed underwater javelin throw, the paladin puts a stop to any and all of the undead captain's movements. Her faltering joints finally give way, and she crumbles to the ship's floor. It is hard to tell if the sense of a weight lifting from the party's collective shoulder was caused by the dispersion of the magics binding the captain or just relief that the fight has come to an end. (Undead Captain takes 11 piercing damage and is DEFEATED.)
WE ARE NOW OUT OF INITIATIVE. YOU MAY DO AS YOU WILL.
Kairus watched the pile of bones slowly settle on the floor and finally stepped inside the broken hull of the Sea Mare. "Is she dead? As in "final death"?" He still did not have enough experience with the undead to tell from just the look. He carefully swam over the bones and put his hand on the top of the sarcophagus while watching the fallen captain. Should no visible reaction come from the broken bones of the undead, Kairus fully exhaled with a touch of exaggerated relief and patted the sarcophagus almost lovingly. "You know, I will leave this place feeling true pride and even accomplishment now! Provided whatever is inside would not kill us first. Never thought I had it in me... But speaking of whatever is inside, we might take a break before opening this thing. What do you say?"
He was dying from curiosity but his conscience loudly demanded to postpone further explorations. Even if Kairus himself only got caught in the deadly breath of the creature once, others were not that lucky and really truly needed a good rest and a good measure of healing remedy.
From inside the breathing bubble Krodhen lets out a big sigh of relief and takes a moment to compose himself and collect the dropped flail as he approaching Yul as his first priority, touching the big fighter on the shoulder, simply stating "Amazing" and proceeds to Lay on Hands to cure disease (last 5 points - sorry Rhogal), then turns to Hun, offering the Bubble Helm back to Hun knowing that he has been holding his breath during the furious battle. As Kairus approaches the sarcophagus Krodhen will use a few seconds to recover his javelins, cautious of the body lest it rise once more. To be sure, he will use another Divine Sense to check for any undead essence to be sure it is indeed truly 'dead'.

Though still reeling from battle and needing a moment to catch the proverbial breath(as opposed to the literal and likely drowning on the spot), Hun's relief turns to panic the moment he sees Kairus rushing for sarcophagus. It's at that moment and with all the strength and fury in his tiny body that he catapulted himself at the Triton, trying to throw off his attempt to touch the sarcophagus in a shove.
And should be he successful in that, he'd further motioning the triton away, before frantically making gestures at all NOT to touch the sarcophagus. Sure, Mr. Thicc had all but been able to stand atop the thing, but like it or not, he was a construct. Not truly living creature in the classic sense.
If Hun should however fail to stop the Triton, he scrunched up his body bracing for some deadly magic to be released, possibly transforming the foolish fish boy into a new guardian of the coffin. Yet, if nothing comes of the event, he really does let out a sigh of relief, only to start floundering until Krodhen either practically shoved the helmet onto his head or his made flailing resulted in his snatching it up at the moment of it's timely offering.
No matter the case, so long as he eventually got a hold of the thing he'd take a few moments to breathe easy and let his mind gradually piece together conversations held so far before regaining his composure.... and his breathe. "I'm going to take a moment to study the symbols WITHOUT touching the bloody thing. But if the rest of you wish to immediately, by all means head to the surface. Once we've had an hours respite at the very least, we can revisit what to do with this new burden of ours." He states, muffled a bit though his words may be even with the bubble in place. After which, he'd start to begin his studies only to note again Mr. Thicc's fallen form. "Dang it... And would someone hull those parts back to shore. If I had a bit more juice I could revive him on the spot. But-..." He glances up to Yulmiath, then back to the coffin as he wade a little more to its side. "Sacrifices need be made. And anyhow, I should only need a few minutes at least to get the gist of these carvings."He further insists, and if left to his own devices, sets about examining the markings he observed before and thensome to get a better feel for their creators intent for them. With a little pick me up in adjusting the atmospheric conditions of the bubble helmet for increased efficiency.

Kairus was not rushing toward the sarcophagus at all. On the opposite, he was approaching the thing slowly and carefully, so, Hun had plenty of time to plunge himself between the triton's hand and the stone coffin. Considering that Kairus was watching the bones while trying to reach for the sarcophagus, it was easy to screw his aim.
"Ay! Grandpa!" The hand slipped and only graced the surface of the monumental thing. "What by the all waves and winds came into you?!" Kairus listened to the explanation with a surprised expression but in the end, waved it off. "Now you're just being paranoid. Look at the thing - completely dad!"To prove the point he added. "I did touch it. Briefly. Nothing happened." The last statement did not sound 100% convincing. The triton looked at his hand, at the bones on the floor, sighed and started collecting pieces of Mr. Thicc to bring them to the surface. "I'll stay with you. If something does happen, someone would have to drag your pieces upthere too."
True to his words, he stayed, trying to be useful and pointing particularly interesting bits of the ornament in case kobold's eyes missed it. (Help to Hun if possible)

Yulmiath spends a few moments in disbelief, prodding the undead Captain with his greataxe a little, as if not quite believing it was dead. Finally satisfaied after removing its head, he turns to the other Packers, taking a quick headcount - all there bar one. In taking the aftermath of the battle, Yulmaith notes that a tickle in his throat won't quite shift and there is a fatigue in his muscles while his bones feel...almost cold? But that unsettling moment lasts for, well, a moment, a quick embrace from Krodhena and Yulmiath forgets his aches and pains. Slapping the back of his fellow front-liner in thanks and appreciation, Yulmiath pauses as his eyes drift across Hun and understands what the little kobold is trying to say.
Yulmiath exagerattedly points a finger towards Mr. Thicc, then to himself and then to the surface and then to the shore. Assuming Hun nods, Yulmiath will attempt to lift the automaton, and swim/carry his remains to the shore, dragging them the final steps of the way.
With not much to do, and now needing to get to the surface himself to breathe, Krodhen takes off after Yul to assist, opting to trigger his ring of water walking rather than attempt to swim.

Krodhen collects his gear once the battle is over and then approaches Yulmiath. Whatever ailment had taken over the dragonborn's body is swiftly cured by a cleansing bro-hug from the half-orc. The two of them then go on with their list of errands: while Yulmiath confirms the kill by decapitating the fallen captain of the Sea Mare, Krodhen taps into his special senses to double-confirm that the creature is no longer powered by evil demonic necromancy. Next on the list, the paladin swims over to Hun and gives him the breathing helmet back, while the barbarian begins to collect Mr. Thicc's pieces with Kairus's help. Krodhen soon takes over for Kairus and the two (former) pirates begin to swim to the surface while the triton and the kobold stay back, as does Rhogal. With each other's help, as well as that of their respective water-friendly magic items, Krodhen and Yulmiath eventually reach not only the surface but also the shore, where Mr. Thicc is laid onto the sand.
Still back with the sarcophagus, Kairus and Hun have some verbal and physical back and forth regarding the merits and risks of touching the evil-looking resting place of a demon-follower. All in all, all that Kairus felt upon brushing the sarcophagus with his hand was the presence of a magical enchantment. Hun decides to study the item while Kairus describes the tingle he felt. After a non-negligible period of intense academic discussion and analysis, which is prolonged by underwater communication complications, the duo eventually concludes that the sarcophagus has been magically warded with a spell meant to shut it permanently.
In the meantime, after agreeing that the team needs a rest, Rhogal has lingered underwater addressing his curiosity of a newfound ability: he can breath down here as if he was atop a high mountain. It is not pleasant, but it offers him enough oxygen to survive. Going over the other symptoms of his disease, Rhogal confirms the presence of a few small boils on his left cheekbone. These boils are blue in coloration, though they do not hurt or itch. The druid suspects he is in the very early stages of whatever this disease may be, concluding that symptoms are going to get worse before they get better. The dwarf doubts he would be contagious at these early stages, but fears this could eventually lead to his own death should the source of the infection go untreated for long.
Struggling out of the surf and onto the sandy beach, Yulmiath would like to say that he laid out Mr. Thicc's parts with the same reverence and care he'd give to a living comrade, but the dragonborn felt on the verge of exhaustion and the various parts tumbled out of his hands onto the sand. Collapsing down next to the dropped parts, Yulmiath drops his own gear unceremoniously, and pulls his cloak down, gulping down the salty air into his lungs and staring up at the sky.
"I didn't get the chance to thank you down there, Krodhen. So thank you. Were the others following us up or do you think we need to head back down there for pulling that sarcophagus out here next?"
"Magic, huh..." Kairus thoughtfully stroked his chin and then visually lightened up. "I have it! The scroll! I mean, you can not get bigger than that, right? You said we needed the hold onto it until something serious comes up, and here it is! Unless you have another thick in you, I say we try it!"
Kairus looked as if he was ready to try it right away and only incredible will power prevented him from doing so. "Others would hate to miss the opening... Should we fetch them now?"
A little taken aback by the thanks Krodhen replies "No worries big guy, you were clutch in that one, getting back up every time gave us the time we needed, so it is more thanks to you for taking such a beating! Anyway, the main thing is that we are all still alive - let's let Thicc here dry out a bit and head back out to see what trouble those brainiacs have gotten themselves into"
