"... No."Hun answered after a long moment of silently staring at the coffin. He then sighed and grumbled something under breathe, before speaking aloud once more. "But don't worry, young blue. We'll return for it of course. Might as well after having gone this far, I s'pose. But we all need to properly catch our breath, first top side, just in case anything else goes sideways." He looks up to Kairus at that point. "Think you can keep your hard on for mystery in your pants for another hour, young'un?"He asks with a smirk, and assuming Kairus agreed, he'd motion for the Triton to follow him as they made their way to the beach front.
Sadly, it would not be with much hope in his heart of being able to use the helmet the second time over, given the limited air supply. Yet as he thought further of his own vigor, a small grin of pride would creep back into view during the trip and subsequent informing of the group.

At the beach, Krodhen and Yulmiath take a moment to rest up a bit and catch their breath. The dragonborn, in particular, is still nursing serious wounds even after receiving some magical healing and divine infection-cleansing. But now is not yet the time for a proper rest. The pirates share another fraternal moment, leave Mr. Thicc to dry on the sand, and begin heading back to the Sea Mare.
Yulmiath swims near the water surface while Krodhen walks on it. As they approach the diving spot, Rhogal emerges, holing a unique-looking yellow-with-red-spots mushroom. He swears by it and munches it down while the other two watch. In no time at all, the boils on the dwarf's face dry up and drop, leaving behind noting but a slightly red area behind.
-> Rhogal is no longer diseased.
No longer able to breathe underwater, Rhogal holds his breath, as does Krodhen, and the two of them follow Yulmiath into the depths. They find Kairus and Hun having a discussion, where the triton can be much more easily understood than the kobold. Kairus is excited about initiating some underwater scroll reading. His excitement is brought down a level when Hun insists that the group take at least a short rest, so they can be ready for whatever danger may lie inside the sarcophagus. All five adventurers swim back up to the surface, spend a few seconds clarifying some of the points they were trying to make underwater, and then begin swimming back to the shore. As they swim back, Hun seems lost in thought, while Rhogal offers to grant someone a magical pep to their step once they return in an hour or so.
(OOC: Unless someone disagrees with taking a short rest, please go ahead and roll your Hit Dice and describe what you'd like to do for that hour on the beach.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Yulmiath pulls himself back from the water and finds his previous body divot in the sand, nestling himself within it.
Pulling a potion of healing from his sack, he corks it, downs it, feels slightly better (2d4+2 hp regained - 9 (9)).
Rolling onto his back and pulling the hood of his cloak back, Yulmiath asks the group more generally, "What's the plan with this sarcophagus? I don't feel like I've got much more left in me to give today. If there's something mean or nasty in there I'm not sure I want to tangle with it right now. How are the rest of us holding up?"

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
For those who decided to take the full rest (actually, he decided it too) Kairus played his soothing music (Song of Rest for 4 in addition to HDs). His scratches closed fast enough (HD: 13) and he was eager to continue but had to agree with Yulmiath here. "We do not know what is inside. Even if not all of us suffer from wounds anymore, we all are spent. And I am sure Grandpa would like to fix his Mr. Thicc first. Guess, we are making camp taking a good rest before returning to this thing. When we checked the lid was shut fast and is held by the spell. Should stay closed for a while." He looked toward the ship a bit skeptical. "At least I hope it will".
Hun mostly certainly had decided to rest. Although a portion of that time had been spent working Mr. Thicc over until he at least was more a solid piece, if albeit bundled up for easier transportation.
He'd later scoff at the Grandpa comment, before adding his own two centers. "Short of the Sea ***** herself, or that raggedy Ann we ran into having a bit more magic than what she'd show last, I'm pretty sure it'll be fine for a day, at the very least. But a day or two is 'bout as good an estimate I can give ya, seeing as both of the more lively guardian in the area has been dealt with." He looked out to sea once more and seemed thoughtful for a second. "... But we still got a bit of time in the day I reckon. So, if ya'll are really fine with just relaxing the rest of the day, or maybe even investigate that statue on the cliff a bit for any hidden goodies, I say that... eh. Why not. Think I'll do my relaxing eitha way on the cliff, least I get swept up and out by the tide's changing. "
If there's no disagreement on that point, Hun lingers on the beach only long enough to finish the short rest soaking in the comfort of sand, before ultimately heading up top. Despite his own suggestion about the statue however, short of the others goading him into action, the kobold is content to spend the rest of the day finally sitting down to journal, plan, and otherwise for once just take it easy for a day. And should all went well by evening, he might even spend a bit more time hollowing out his den or embrace his kobold instincts to set up a pit trap nearby... just in case!

The group sits on the beach for a little while, patching their wounds, letting their muscles soak in the sun, telling themselves the sarcophagus will be fine, and discussing the merits of extending the rest through the rest of the day. The warm, salty breeze feels rejuvenating on their faces and hair, though the sand tends to find its way into everything.
SHORT REST (includes Song of Rest)
Rhogal recovers 18 HP.
Kairus recovers 21 HP.
Hun recovers 27 HP.
Krodhen recover 40 HP (rolled in OOC Chat).
Yulmiath recovers 9 HP (from potion).
Hun reminds the group they better scale the cliff to rest for the rest of the day, lest the tide changes on them. Climbing up is not particularly easy, but the party has moved far along that learning curve since arriving in the island, so they complete the task with aplomb.
The Snackers have plenty of time to kill. It is still morning after all, and falling asleep so soon after waking up for the day is both impractical and wasteful. Hun keeps busy by working on Mr. Thicc. Others take a closer look at the large statue that marks High Horn (passive investigation). Kairus and Krodhen find nothing mysterious or intriguing about it, no matter how long they stare at it and from what angle. Meanwhile, Rhogal and Yulmiath tend a fire, set up a temporary camp, and roast some meat for the party. All in all, it turns out to be a great day out camping.
(OOC: Please set up for a Long Rest and watch shifts, if you'd like.)
Feeling slightly better or having the rest, although if Yulmiath was honest with himself, the climb did leave him feeling drained once again. Happy to begin setting camp, Yulmiath whiled away the day with mundane but familiar tasks, and once complete, was able to make use of the comfortable bedding for another afternoon nap.
As the shadows start to lenghten as the day begins to end and the sky becomes painted with tones of pinks and oranages, Yumiath offers to take first watch. Less chance to fall asleep on watch, right?
Kairus could resist spending some more time simply swimming underwater (no wild adventures, he simply enjoyed the proper environment and was washing away the remnants of ashes from his gills). But eventually, he fully joined the group in the camp up the cliff. He was fine with any watch - second or last - whatever, and despite his curiosity tried to get a good rest.
Though very tempted to try, the old kobold within Hun couldn't quite stomach trying to foist any of his watch duties on the others. It would be one thing if another volunteered of course. Yet even then, he puts forth more than a token effort in his insistence on taking the last watch before everyone found their rest. All he asks in return is that whoever was to be on the watch before him to NOT stick anything sharp into his burrow just to wake him up.
And to his later credit, any tinkering he does do to finish fixing up Mr. Thicc is done during his watch is kept to the bare minimum to better stay focus on keeping an eye out for trouble.
@Yulmiath: Despite taking the first watch and having napped this afternoon, your body is begging for additional sleep. This is not the first time you have fallen asleep during your watch, and it is becoming hard to ignore this pattern. In fact, Kairus eventually pokes you awake to let you know he is taking over for you, instead of you waking the triton up to pass the torch. It is a little embarrassing.
@Kairus: Realizing that Yul fell asleep, you start your watch by checking everyone belongings to see if anything is obviously missing. You do a thorough job but you don't necessarily want to go digging into other people's bags, so you check them for obvious missing articles instead. You see that one or two of the packs has been raided for food, with bits of raw meat all around them, probably lizard meat from the recent cave fight. You click your tongue in annoyance and make sure the rest of your watch time is not similarly disappointing. You do an excellent job at it and eventually wake up Krodhen so he can take over.
@Krodhen: You take your watch seriously, as you usually do, but you can't help but get distracted by the sea beyond the cliff. Part of you is keeping watch at the Sea Mare instead of the camp, making sure that no scavenger beast, tortle, or sailor comes out of nowhere to nab the sarcophagus. Another part of you is keeping an eye on the dark horizon, wondering if your father will come sailing down these shores again. When you think it has been a couple of hours, you poke Hun awake, forgetting he had specifically asked you not to do this.
@Hun: In a rare event, you have to take a watch shift yourself, without Mr. Thicc. The good news is that you have plenty of time to tinker with the construct's metal parts to make sure he is good to go in the morning. The bad news is that you end up making a lot of noise, robbing your companions from the last bit of restful sleep they were counting on. They all end up waking up before sunrise, but at least the tides have done a full cycle and are low again. This should be a good time to go for a swim.
OOC#1: The party loses a total of 4rations. I need volunteers to delete one or two rations from their inventory until we reach a total of four.
OOC#2: Although you complete your Long Rest, the last precious hours of restful sleep you failed to get come at a cost. Everyone falls short of replenishing their HP to full by 6 points. This is mechanically equivalent to taking 6 damage immediately after completing the Long Rest. You take this "damage" even if you were at full HP before starting the rest.
Feeling more than a little sheepish come the morning, Yulmiath attempts to make his apology to the rest of the Pack through deeds, not words. Passing out a ration to each. But, deciding that while actions do speak louder than words, sometimes words are useful, he decides to ask for forgiveness as well.
"Uh, that's more than the first time I've fallen asleep on watch, and while I likely needed the rest after all the knocks on the noggin I took yesterday,"
Yulmiath punctuates his speech by knocking on his own head for emphasis, but becomes more sombre as he recalls how such transgressions were met while aboard ship.
"But, uh, I'd be keel hauled for the same infraction at sea, and the result could have been no less destructive just because we're on land. I'm sorry. I've let you all down. Makes no difference that I didn't mean to, it still happened. I'll make your packs whole again, just let me know what was taken."
"Nah, you've got quite the beating yesterday. A few pieces of meat would not kill us. At least the thieves had the decency to be quiet," Kairus gave Hun the pointed look. "Could use a bit less noise in the morning."
He clapped his hands. "Since we are all awake and relatively well, shall we dive in? The tides would not be low forever."Triton's eagerness to return to the sarcophagus was as fresh and awake as the group itself.
"At this rate Mr. Yully, I'm gonna have to do some research into some kind of special alarm for you."Hun said frankly while giving Yulmiath a subtle but disapproving look while pointedly ignoring the look of annoyance from others. "But that's future us problem. For now, I agree with young blue. A nice little dip aughta help wake us up all the faster. And the sooner we're done with this whole coffin mess, the sooner we can be big in the village and refuel."
Mr. Thicc chooses that moment to snap up into a seated position and gives two thumbs up in agreement. Hun seems to ignore this too in favor of rolling his shoulders and making prompt progress for the cliff, and by extension the beach and ghost ship following the now by then usual procedures of travel. "Once we're down there-..."He'd say at some point during the transition on land. "Only those directly working with the sarcophagus should be within even 30ft of it. The rest of us we'll float nearby with weapons at the ready until it's unlocked. After which, Mr. Thicc, Mr. Yully, and Mr. Green here will have to see about removing the lid. Agreed?"
"Aye. As fer indirect involvement, perhaps some magical help would be appreciated?" Rhogal asks as he rifles through his bag of mushrooms that temporarily increase muscle density.
(OOC: If Yul is passing around some food, it may be simpler for @MB to deduct 4 rations from his inventory, where he'd replenish any rations others would have deducted.)
The group goes over the morning routine and the process of undoing their camp. Yulmiath feels a bit of guilt for the night's events, while Hun shows no remorse whatsoever from acting as an early alarm, even after Kairus makes it clear that they all noticed the extra noise. As they come to terms with the missing bit of food, Yulmiath passes some of his own stock around to make up for his blunder.
All of that now dealt with, the group agrees it is another perfect morning for more diving into shipwrecks. Once all have climbed back down to the beach, Kairus and Yulmiath lead the way by swimming swiftly onward. Krodhen walks on the water surface, having to deal with small waves coming at him at regular intervals. Rhogal, Hun, and an up-and-running Mr. Thicc swim to their destination the old-fashioned way, making stops at other above-surface wrecks to catch up their breath as needed (or, in the case of Mr. Thicc, just to keep close to Hun.)
Once they all stop near the Virago, Hun shares his thoughts about who should dive into the Sea Mare and who should wait on the sidelines to serve as the cavalry. Rhogal reminds those assigned the job of pushing the lid/sarcophagus that he can offer them an extra umami-flavored boost. It is at this moment that the Snackers notice that the last stretch to the Sea Mare is not completely clear. Several sharks now swim freely in these waters, no longer hindered by the presence of a superior predator.
Rhogal does not feel like dying to some sea sickness. So, he surfaces to join the others before popping some medicinal fungus in his mouth.
“If yer lookin’ ya get that thing down there open, I’m willin’ ya help some.”
He will cast enhance ability on any takers.
