Zensiro pauses for a moment to contemplate. "Wait, Dyumi, you're a druid, no? Can't folks like you change into animals? Perhaps you could change into one of those giant wasps, or into something that might scare them off? I don't much like our odds on a smash and grab against flying, stinging insects, but it would be great to get our hands on a couple of enchanted items."
"Well, if we need someone sneaky, I may be our best bet" Malichi tells you. He looks for a good approach, pulls up his hood and moves slowly and cautiously towards the coin.

Malichi detects no activity from the nest as the creeps over to the glowing copper disc. Tugging gently on the huge object, he discovers it to be much lighter than it should be, weighing perhaps 30 lb (15kg) at most. Experimentally lifting the key, it has a similar weight. Probably the magical nature of the objects adds a certain buoyancy to them.
While no noise emanates from the nest, Zensiro detects a distant buzzing or droning noise coming down the shaft. Looking up, he sees several giant wasps descending. They will arrive in no more than two rounds.

(To clarify, given the weight of the objects, it seems like Malichi should be able to move at normal speed with at least one of them. Since the diameter of the chamber is 30', he should also be able to return to our side in one round, correct? Assuming that's the case ...)
Noticing the unfortunate arrival of several giant wasps on our crime scene, Zensiro curses silently. After taking a look at Malichi's progress, Zensiro realizes there's no way that he can alert Malichi without tipping off the wasps. Zensiro silently draws an arrow from his quiver and nocks it. After taking a deep breath, Zensiro slowly exhales as he draws the arrow back and takes aim at the lowest wasp.

(Haha, don't beat yourself up. I play in a live game w/a druid PC that has remembered to use wild shape exactly one time in the last 6 months. It's a running joke at this point.)
Zensiro sees the friendly wasp heading skyward and is able to relax just a little. He takes a quick glance to see how Malichi is progressing, then returns his attention to the wasp situation, with his bow drawn.
The three wasps descending the shaft see an unfamiliar wasp rise towards them. Not having any intelligence or language, they act mostly by instinct and only communicate the most basic of messages through pheromones. Dyumi is exuding the smell of a friendly wasp, but is behaving in an odd manner, confusing the wasps. They have stopped their descent, hesitating, hovering..
(Here comes the physics nerd in me) They key and the coin, while magically weighing less than they should, still have their mass. Meaning that Malichi can lift one or the other, but they still have the inertia of a large solid metal object, meaning it is slow to get it moving, and also slow to stop it. As the tiefling hefts the coin, he should make an acrobatics check at advantage to make sure he doesn't lose his balance due to the odd properties of his burden. (DC 11). The key remains behind, being too large to be taken at the same time. (It is possible Amelia would like to try retrieving it, or else Malichi or someone else can give it a go.)
(Zensiro was also pondering making a move for the key - good Stealth w/the cloak - but wanted to see how the faux wasp did before making a move. Probably best for Amelia to give it a go if it seems like we've bought enough time, so Zensiro can maintain cover w/the bow.)

As Malichi starts to get a feel for the strange weight/mass relationship he hoists the coin up over his head, resting it on his horns to make it easier to carry and giving him cover from above.
Malachi teeters back and forth a bit getting used to his new balance point. One of the wasps from above notices the glowing coin below him rocking back and forth, and by instinct, darts downward to investigate. The other two follow. They pass close enough to Dyumi to allow him an AoO if desired on any of the three.
Zensiro (and Amelia, presumably) may make surprise attacks. Malichi is engaged at the moment. Dyumi would not get a surprise, but may make the AoO as mentioned.
(Is there any chance that Dyumi could intervene to redirect the descending wasps, or is combat/running for our lives inevitable at this point? Zensiro would still prefer to avoid getting in a scrap with the wasps if at all possible.)
Meanwhile, topside, Cerlinde has had enough time to contemplate the silver lapel pin they found to determine that it is a masque charm.
Just as she figures this out, two spiders returning from a patrol approach the chasm from the far side. Seeing the floor webbing gone, and two tasty morsels on the other side, they ascend the walls and cross the chasm upside-down on the ceiling. Zithers and Cerlinde are now in combat.
Well, Dyumi is certainly free to propose an action to try and avoid combat.
Dyumi will cast Fog Cloud centered on the wasps.

(OK, this is my bad, and I apologize for the confusion. I finally got around to reading the "Wild Shape" section in the PHB, and from what I can tell, it doesn't work here. As a 2nd level druid Dyumi can only transform into a beast with a max CR of 1/4 (giant wasp is 1/2), and not one that has flying capability. Also, spells cannot be cast while in wild shape. Alternatively, as a member of the Circle of Stars, Dyumi could take on a "Starry Shape" instead of a Wild shape. That's on me, so let's back up to the point before the wasps spotted you guys, and Zensiro saw them coming down the shaft. Malichi had successfully stealthed over to the coin, and he can keep his Acrobatics roll to balance it if he wants. )
