Zensiro tends to his wounds during the rest, while trying to remain attentive to the bell and string alarm.
(I used the Short Rest on my character sheet to recover 10 hp, which brought me from 14 up to my max of 22. The roll should be in the campaign log. If the rest is interrupted, I'll reset back to 14.)
(So do I understand correctly that the plan is to rig the trapdoor to ring a bell when it opens, meanwhile the party will take a short rest where they are, outside it?>)
[OOC It might even do a bit more than that. The string is tied so that it will impead opening and drag other parts of the webbing as well as the bell. The spider may be confused for a bit. Up to you]
When you settle down to rest, the vibrations you were creating in the webstrands cease. After about 15 minutes, you hear some experimental tapping or pushing on the trapdoor, and the bell rings, which causes whomever is on the other side to scurry away without opening it. Another 45 minutes pass without incident, although the humming sound from beyond the door continues. You successfully complete a short rest, and Zithers' crafting is successful.

"Oh I don't mind, better to have company as I work. It is incredibly useful, except for the fact I hafta take a nap or two every day to keep up my casting. In fact, this necklace should help me out with that exact problem, so I'm glad my tinkering with it worked."
"I am also ready to proceed, and as Malichi says, going forward is our best bet, especially with getting needed objects for resizing ourselves again. The world down here is interesting and helpful, but I haven't had a good sandwich in far too long." Zithers is emboldened by his newly recovered spell slots and cool new amulet so he's back up to pre-shrunken energy, and willing to take first in marching order if no one steps up, else he takes the spot right behind first.
Working together, you manage to lift the trapdoor quietly, and one by one you pass through. The humming is noticeably louder now. After about 15 feet, the tunnel widens out into an enormous spherical chamber, perhaps 100 feet in diameter. The chamber is filled with ropelike web strands that stretch from wall to wall, and many that converge in the center of the sphere, about 50 feet above the floor. The humming noise now fills your ears as you note many flies and other insects that have been bound in sticky silk, alive and terrified as the arachnids slowly drain their life force to feed their voracious appetites. You see at least 10 of the wolf spiders you have encountered before at various locations on the network of webbing. In the center of the web, you see a massive spider with two heads, black eyes glittering like obsidian, black body with red markings, and fangs dripping with poison. It appears to be staring right at the party, likely alerted to your approach by the vibrations you caused earlier.
Zensiro, ever alert, glances upward and notices another large spider, this one with white body and multiple redeyes, slowly descending, evidently trying to ambush you without being noticed. The white spider is larger than any you have previously encountered, excepted only by the two-headed monstrosity in the middle. To his horror, Zithers recognizes Chauncey the butterfly and Nod the snail are also trapped in the giant web, struggling ineffectively to free themselves, as spiders prod and nip at them.
Malichi hears scuttling behind you, and looks back to see several wolf spiders sealing up the trapdoor from this side. You would have to cut or burn your way through to escape that way now.
Cerlinde's sharp elven eyes see a few sparkling objects woven into the silken strands near the huge spider in the middle.
(The spiders are aware of your presence, and hostile. What would you like to do?)
"Chauncey? Nod??? I cant set fire to the webs now!" With no real way of talking things through, and no real desire of giving things up as bribe, Zithers will stick to good ol' blowing things up and shoot an eldritch blast at the white spider, provided Zensiro alerts the rest of the party to it. (to hit: 9; damage: 9)
Zensiro hisses to the party and points upward at the ghastly white spider descending, then turns back to Malichi and sees the trapdoor sealed. "Well, this has gone horribly wrong! We're badly outnumbered, so I think we should focus on the two large ones and hope the rest have a sense of morale." He focuses intently on the white spider, conjuring an arcane pursuit of the beast while drawing his longbow. Zensiro then fires at the white spider with a prayer to the Earthmother on his lips, asking for aid in banishing this abomination.
Cerlinde looks with shock at the situation. She decides to focus on the white spider as it is the closest and appears to be a dangerous opponent.
taking a diamond from a pocket, she uses it and some magical words to summon forth a larger orb than her usual firebolts, this one fire blue. She hurls the chromatic orb at the spider..
Dyumi will focus on the two headed spider from a distance.
Guiding bolt: Attack: 16 Damage: 12
With the guiding bolt directing his aim, Dyumi summons a bow seemingly made of stars into his hands, then fires it at one of the spider's monstrous heads.
Attack: 15 Damage: 6
(this has been an expensive turn, hope it was worth it)

The Ice Spider dropping rapidly towards Zensiro screams as his arrow finds its mark. In retaliation, it hurls icy-cold webbing at the ranger (7), before being fried by the chromatic orb from Cerlinde. Two of the smaller spiders leap at the wizard in retaliation. (9, 7)
The Spider Queen at first seemed content to observe the battle from her safe position, but when Malichi's attack wounds her, she races along the maze of silk toward the party, and casts her own sticky net at the tiefling (6)
Zithers' eldritch blast misses the mark as he is attacked by two wolf spiders (13, 8).
Amelia finds herself besieged by two of the smaller spiders as well, (6, 12).
Dyumi is swarmed by two of them, (17, 16), but his subsequent guiding bolt and starry archer attack both severely wound the two-headed queen.
Malichi is also targeted by the two wolf spiders that had sealed the trap door (15, 6),
Zensiro tends to his wounds during the rest, while trying to remain attentive to the bell and string alarm.

(any objections to opening the trapdoor and going through?)
Zensiro volunteers to open the door ... very carefully. Maybe with help from Malichi?
(I'll throw a check in here w/advantage, not sure if it's relevant or necessary. Let us know if you want something different.)
