Gear was well positioned in his motionless state and started thinking how useful he was and how good was to count with another warforged to keep an eye for his new companions as the relaxing sounds of the sea continue he just pondered deeper into several other thoughts ...was he thinking or running a program installed to help him make rest hours shorter? could time be managed in that way?was he a sorcerer now? would Tyr approve this new path? what could Tyr be doing right now? ...
Lots'a new sounds for Whistler some roaring and shrieks at the distance. Whistler couldn't know if those were connected in any way? - too far to actually care right now. Lots'a new sounds - frogs sounds seemed to be deeper as if they had a bigger torax, also crickets - but those weren't new sounds, nah he new them well...Whistler continued and the night tried to lure him to relax a bit but then he perceived another well known sound...steps! 1....2....3....4....5....6? 5 humanoids and something else. He turns his head slowly to get more information.
Camp is set between crevices of ground elevations which can be found throughout the entire jungle, such elevation would go as high as 10 feet. and sorround the party allowing everyone to be inside so you were virtually covered by this small hill but the top area was open. The steps came from the jungle, you could hear how they slowly moved foliage as they would get near the marks examined previously by Azaka. So the distance was good, fortunately the moon was allowing you to see enough at this point and you were able to see 6 bulky hunched creatures they couldn't be higher than you or Gear but looked a bit burlier some were carrying javelins and spiked shields they were surely a strange sight but the stranger part was the crocodile that they seemed to be following.
After a little while they stopped investigating, the crocodile then turned to camp 8 the rest of the humanoids followed its lead again and turned there and behind towards the path you came.
two of them turned towards the camp direction though not entirely pointing at it directly just around it they exchange words or noises and the crocodile nodded, soon after that they started walking slowly in that direction. With the sea parallel to your camp and behind them they continue moving towards your direction.
They are about 150 feet away from the camp, the sound of the sea does cover sound a bit so you could speak normal without whispering to be heard by someone near you.
Whistler was a bit surprised at this turn of events. Brigands he was familiar with... brigands who were apparently in league with a crocodile?! What a weird jungle, he thought to himself!
"Pssssst!"
He made the sound low and solid, not enough to overcome the nearby river, but enough to get the attention of anyone who wasn't already asleep. Then, keeping his voice down, he continued, "Ya'll might wanna get up... seems we gots ourselves some company, and I don't reckon they're bringing casseroles!"
(( OOC: Whistler will attempt to crouch into a darkened corner of the little "valley" they're camping in, so as to be able to land at least one attack before being noticed. Stealth Check:15 ))
It doesn't take much for Aranea to wake up; she's always been a light sleeper. She rolls into a crouching position with feline grace, her eyes glinting in the moonlight. The dagger she keeps underneath her bed roll is already in her hand. Noticing Whistler attempting to be stealthy, she decides to follow his lead, searching for a shadowy corner from which to strike if the intruders mean to attack.
Case starts moving from his inert state and takes hold of his heave crossbow. He loads a bolt into the crossbow in preparation for firing it at someone if the need arose.

Whistler merges with the shadows created in the deepest part of the big crevice where they set up camp. I guess having two warforged in the party is very helpful to wake sleeping party members so I'm OK with them waking the party members discretly unless stated otherwise or previously agreed that they weren't close to each other.
As Aranea wakes up she moves low and slowly to take advantage of the noise of the waves and small foliage and rocks surrounding the area to move to another deep area where shadows would conceal her. (You can move up to 30 feet from the camp if you want due to that stealth roll)
The group of humanoids spread a bit, never being apart more than 6 ft from each other and keeping the crocodile in the center, they look at the sand carefully. One of them is carrying a small torch.
Aranea moves slowly and stealthily toward the entrance to the crevice where their camp is hidden. She moves to the right just outside and takes cover behind a large boulder. She unsheathes her rapier and prepares to attack if any of the intruders show signs of being hostile.
If so, would trigger his ability: voice of authority (order cleric)
You can invoke the power of law to embolden an ally to attack. If you cast a spell with a spell slot of 1st level or higher and target an ally with the spell, that ally can use their reaction immediately after the spell to make one weapon attack against a creature of your choice that you can see.
If the spell targets more than one ally, you choose the ally who can make the attack : Aranea sneak attack
The group continues exploring the area, by now they are approximately at 90 ft from the camp site and the light emanated from their torch feels even closer. At this distance you can see how their bodies are covered by rough scales, their hands end on long, pointy and black fingernails. They were wearing rustic forms of armor and weapons, everything looked as if it was made from another animal part.
They seemed certain that something that peaked their interest was near.
(Go ahead and roll initiative, they haven't seen you but will certainly reach you in a couple of turns so you can ready some actions, continue waiting but also have a better understanding of how/when some spells could be used)
Is everyone waiting until they get close enough to the camp? - By now is clear that they managed to understand that a group was near the marks in the sand identified previously by Azaka. Granted that time passed and marks in sand wouldn't last long but you could see how some things signaled them that "something was off" plus the common knowledge that this is a known path to reach the jungle from the port.
If they continue walking they'll eventually get to where you set up camp.
From this distance you notice that the crocodile is wearing a collar with feathers and small bones.

Gear is antsy and wants to cast bless on Aranea Whistler and himself. He doesn’t know when to do it, either on round 1 or right now.
(I will roll a d4, on a 1 Gear will cast bless now, 2-4 he still waits for something to happen)
(To cast bless : 3 )
