Petmailer walks along toward the front with Vethna, trying to look out for the proper directions, looking for dangers. After the hour passes and the effect of the spores from Stool have faded, Petmailer sends a message to each of the others in our party, "What the heck is going on with Topsy and Turvy? What thoughts do they not want us to hear?"

Tanis continues to rear scout, sensing for pursuit and covering up tracks. Also, if Topsy and Turvy are hanging back, they may be nearer Tanis. He occasionally speaks to them to make small talk and ask if they are doing all right, trying to get a read on their intentions (Insight check below):

Phodoxia looks wistfully at the notebook that Jimjar pulls out. <I had an ink pen,> she says, <but it was not in my bag when I found it.> She scowls. <My crystal is also gone.>
Enjoying the light of the torchstalk, she listens to Shuushar's mental lecture, trying not to trip over Stool at her feet. She pays particular attention to his description of the dangerous fungi, and asks him several mental questions about the mushrooms' poisons and their effects on living beings.
Well...we're smaller than most of you guys and don't know who to trust. We're more comfortable on our own than in a big group like this. We're used to it being just the two of us."
But with your insight role, you can tell that's not the whole story. She's definitely trying to hide something from the group.
You're traveling through a moderately sized passage. From time to time, there are breaks in the walls that appear to lead down into other chambers. Sarith has said they are dead ends and that you need to continue forward. The scouts have some light behind them from Jimmar's torchstalk, but Petmailer, looking into the darkness ahead, also notices a reddish glow coming from one of these crevices. There's an opening about a foot high and five feet wide. You'd have to get on your stomach and crawl through to see what's below. If you ask Jimjar to back up with the torch, it becomes clear there is some kind of reddish-orange light source that is wavering and flickering coming from a space below. It could be a fire, but you don't smell any smoke.
(I take it that Vethna doesn't see the red glow. Or did she see it as she passed by? She is out in front, without any light source, so I would expect it would have been hard to miss. Let me know.)

With the nat 20 on the Insight check, can Tanis tell whether Topsy or Turvy mean the party any harm (including stealing supplies or equipment)? Because otherwise, while he'll tell the others, he himself would not try to stop the 2 deep gnomes from striking out on their own, in case that is what they are planning. The party has no more right to keep them captive than did the drow. There's always a danger they'll be recaptured and point the finger at where the party is going, but then, the sooner they leave, the better so they have less knowledge.
Petmailer had a higher perception than Vethna. It's a faint glow coming up from a crevice, so difficult to notice. The passages you've been making your way through have phosphorescent moss and lichen that provide dim light. Most of these give off green, yellow or purplish light. Petmailer noticed that there was a more reddish-orange glow coming from this particular crevice, signifying something a little different.
With that insight, you feel that this is more a symptom of being persecuted and mistreated and being distrustful of all others. Rather than intending the party harm, you think if anything they are trying not to endanger the party.
Vrah will carry most of the water as he is able to and will continue to keep an eye on Buppido every now and then glancing back over his shoulder at Topsy and Turvy, just to keep an eye on them. Then whenever anyone needs his help he will help out with whatever needs doing.
Otherwise for now, he will just assume his guard duties of the middle of the group and watching out for any danger, but never straying too far from Buppido, unless the situation warrants it.

Further Insight check by Tanis (NOT on Topsy/Turvy, see below): 5
When given the chance, Tanis says quietly to each of the other PCs and NPCs in private (not Buppido or Sarith), starting with Petmailer who had asked about it:
"I think Topsy and Turvy do not feel at home in a group of larger humanoids as many of us are. They have suffered, as some others of us have, at the hands of the drow and perhaps at the hands of others. I think they are going to strike out on their own. I do not think they mean us any harm and I think we should let them go. They should not be our prisoners any more than they were of the dark elves."
Tanis watches in particular to see if anyone, in particular Jimjar, the other deep gnome, has any reaction to this.
Vethna would have no clue what is going on, but I assume she can tell the others stop to look at the fire tunnel. She will pause ahead of the group, but will not return to them unless someone tells her to do so. She expects they will continue to follow her or will let her know something has changed.
Kisiki shrugs at Tanis' revelation, "All must choose their own path."he says simply. "I will speak with them, if we wish to keep their strength with us."
When he gets a chance he talks to Jimjar. "You have much metal wealth." He states matter-of-factly. "How did you keep it from the guards? I have asked you before; your answer was unsatisfying." When he responds, Kisiki follows up with, "You have much skill. How did they catch you?"
He also talks to Shoowaa for perhaps the first time. "Where do you come from, Hair-Tail? It is good for a shaman to know his... what is the word for it in Common? Like a temporary tribe."
[OOC: Sounds like no one wants to examine the passage with the orange-red lights. If that's the case, you guys can move on forward.]
To Kisiki: Jimjar would look at you funny, then say "Those guards underestimated me. And you never know. Maybe I let them catch me. Maybe I knew you lot were coming to Velkynvelve and would be in need of my help. If I were you, I wouldn't worry your scaly little head about what I can and can't do. There are others among us you need to be more concerned about."
Petmailer whispers to Vethna, “I see a light up ahead, reddish orange. A camp fire? It will be a tight fit, you might have to crawl, but can you check out that light and see what is going on?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Petmailer would have to come further past the light to find Vethna. If they do that, as Vethna has already passed this section of tunnel, then she would definitly come back and take a look. With her climb speed she would simply climb down the tunnel with the red glow and see what she can see. No rope needed.
Kisiki nods at Jimjar. "Semuanya works at a scale greater than that imaginable by the minds of her children. It is true She may have brought you before us to aid our plight. Careful that you do not betray His plan, then - it is not wise to act in discord with the divine." This is not a threat, just a statement of fact.
Shoowaa looks to the lizardfolk and sratches his head trying to decipher what he asked. “My bame is Shoowaa, I am hoping to get rid of the tail soon enough. My tribe? Of goblins? That’s what your asking about yes? Well um, I …I try not to think of them much honestly um..when I was smaller my tribe was attacked by some humans and I had to flee so I don’t have a tribe anymore. Oh wait I’m being stupid it’s shaman stuff you asked about.”
in Sylvan “My mentor was a centaur named Clauvh …hoofington I think? We lived in the fey lands. He taught me what I know and he was going to teach me more. I forget which Circle he was under I think moor or stars or something space like, wait is that what hou were talking about? I think my mentor may not like that I kinda picked up on the fungi circle.”
