After passing through the standing log with the rotten rope the wolves slowly back off until the dissapear in the darkness and the snow, but now Dougan's hole is before you
This town seemed far more inhospitable than Goodmead, no cared to welcome you or question what your business where at the hole.
You entered from the eastern road - though it's very hard to notice a road per se as everything seems to be covered by the snow but some faint remanents of tracks made by heavy sleds, following this marks you get further into the city and they lead you to the biggest building in the heart of the town - the one connected to the dock.
Next to it you see a caravan that consists of three heavily laden dogsleds, each one strapped to six friendly sled dogs. One sled flies a flag bearing the company's emblem, a gold wolf's paw on a black field. Besides the sleds you see an outdoor shop, goods are unpacked and displayed in crates, with small canopies to keep the snow off them. Next to two sled there's two humanoids (hard to distinguish their race from their size and winter gear) tending to the resting dogs and the vehicles. The third sled is watched over by a single humanoid, this sled contains besides some crates a big and oddly shapped sack.
In the center of the outdoor shop a single Shield dwarf stands rubbing her hands as she welcomes you to take a look at their goods - "Must be tired from the walk" - she shouts - "you are lucky, this is our last day here..."
Besides the people looking over the caraven and the dward there are three customers interested in buying cut wood, flint and tinder, flasks of whale oil, blankets, furs, amongst other things.
The town residents weren't using full winter gear, they were missing googles so you could spot some minor deformities in their faces - an apparent common trait in the residents of Dougan's Hole

"Lucky indeed." Sarya whispers to herself, her red lips forming a quick smirk before approaching the Shield dwarf. "You must be Torga?"She says with a friendly smile, seemingly looking at what she has for sale, but really scanning the surroundings for a man not clad in winter clothing, which likely should stand out in this environment. Perception if needed: 18
Darby will stay behind the larger members of the party as they get into the town, remembering the stories that some of the towns were sacrificing people. As they come across Torga's goods he will step out and look them over with an appraising eye as if he is interested in buying. As he does so he will look for anything that may ne different then her other goods.

Not long after you reached the outdoor shop someone emerged from the large building and walked towards the dwarf paying no mind to customers or your group. He then says to the dwarf in a medium volume, not secretive but only audible to those near (which we could consider are Darby and Sarya since they've been interested in checking the place out) "Just a couple of kids that went missing , nothing that would earn us good coin, this place is still a dump." - He doesn't wait for a spoken word from the dwarf, she simply nods after listening to what he had to say and moved to the sled carrying the odd sack.
The man has an olive complexion, dark hair pulled back in a ponytail, and no facial or body hair. He is dressed in a stylish vest with matching pants and boots, similar in style to those worn by mariners of the southern Sword Coast, this was evident to everyone as he wasn't wearing armor or cold weather clothing. His most striking feature is his eyes, which are as blue as a frozen lake.

Investigation: 12
Everything that was for sale seemed to be normal, things you would imagine people from the area might need. But you could swear the sack does have the shape of a body, medium humanoid (so a big sack in relation to Darby) you can't be sure since everything is properly covered. However, no one dared to stop you from looking just a small warning "Things in our sleds aren't for sale little one" - Says one of the man wearing winter clothing.
Ghathi approaches the Sheild dwarf just a step behind Sarya. He remains quiet, though he too keeps an eye out for anything amiss. (Perception: 24)
Nothing odd besides what I described previously but paying attention to the people around allowed you to listen the customers conversation:
"Don't know how many, but them wolves are big as horses!" says a local with small, misshapen ears.
"They know words an' got a mighty vocab'lary!" says another with pointed teeth.
"By Thruun's Stones, they caught fair Sil and her lovely brother Finn th' other day," says a third, who bears more than a passing resemblance to the other two.
"Dang winter wolves say they ain't givin' 'em back till the town coughs up a king's ransom in food and gold. This town barely got enough to feed its own, and there ain't no gold. Ain't no one allowed to leave town. Dem wolves vow to kill anyone who tries!" - says the local with misshapen ears.
"Good choice! this is the best kind of oild if you ask me, a bit hard to get but I'll give you the special rate of 8 sp per flask" says the dwarf as she extends her hand to receive the payment.
Ghathi asks the dwarf, "So Torga, are you actually heading out?" As she seemed to not hear Sarya, he adds, "You are Torga right? But it seems rather brave of you to leave with all these rumors of winter wolves out there."

Torga turns to Ghathi and she makes it very evident that she is studying his size and proportions carefully..."yes, I'm Torga...you are not from here so I assume you are part of the group that just arrived. I'm planning to go tomorrow "morning" unless you are here for business...my name often means that around here...so...are you offering something or looking for something?"
Seeing what may have been a body, Darby steps back and goes over to stand next to his large Goliath companion. As he does so he will reach into his coat and grip both his coin purse and his arcane focus.

Sarya tries to get the others attention to the man in the ponytail who clearly is the man they are looking for, then moving over to him, tugging Ghathi along for support. "Greetings, you are Sephek Kaltro, right? I have an important message for you if there is somewhere else we can speak?" She says in a friendly and sincere voice, looking around for somewhere more secluded for them to speak. Persuasion/Deception if needed, again assuming help from Ghathi, otherwise go with first roll: 16

Intrigued by Sarya's confident approach you see how you get his full attention after saying "an important message" - "I suppose this is not an urgent matter, if you know who I am then you should be aware that I don't do any freelancing when Torga is around. We won't be leaving until tomorrow so we can meet in the sheds after I secure the sleds."
Ghathi, feeling Sarya tugging him along, quickly apologizes to Torga. "Sorry, I guess my friend has something urgent for me to look at. I apologize for bothering you." He then looks at her, trying to figure out what she is doing. Which doesn't take him long as he sees the man that seems likely to be their target. After the man's response, Ghathi looks to Sarya and nods his head in agreement over his suggestion.

Sarya nods at Sephek and tries to discreetly inform Darby, Dwalt, Grim and Brother Thaddeus of the meeting with their suspect, suggesting they make themselves ready to take the killer down once they get a confession out of him. She then tries to sneak into the sheds unseen if possible. Stealth: 18
Grim, wise the way of the world, nods at Sarya. Observing Sephek, he shakes his head disbelieving and says, "I don' mean to be rude, friend, but I can' but see how lightly dressed ya' are. I'm bundled up as a tight as a bear in hibernation 'nd I still feel the chill. Are ya' not cold, man?"

Before Ghathi scurries behind Sarya Torga says "I'll leave tomorrow early and I'm interested in adding someone like you in my team, let me know if you are interested" - she then turns to Thaddeus and the rest of people buying stuff and asking about the products.

Sephek was already sitting down on the sled with his boots on top of the big sack, he seemed very relaxed and bored...almost annoyed. After Grim's question he turns to him and says:
"I was born on the holiday of Midwinter, the Frostmaiden's blessing protects me from the cold...at least that's what I was told"
