Flint sits down at the table with Asledin “Might jumpy lad, mind your shield. Everything okay?” Flint tears into his lunch, devouring his food. “Good at fighting, eh. Hope it won’t come to that. Maybe we just hang out here and babysit a letter until our contact arrives.” Flint takes another look around the main room while he eats, looking for anyone who may have arrived after them, anyone who may be watching them.
Imra takes out the envelope and holds it out to Ula, "Perhaps you can divine more about this... I'm not really sure what to do.... And I've held it for a while now."
Imra stares out of the window, seemingly forgetting about his lunch order and absently chewing on a bit of hard tack from his pack. "I've never been in a real city before. Is it always so noisy? So.... full of smells?"
As the clocktower strikes he turns his head towards the sound, "Who sets the clocks?"
Douglas will be getting ready for bed after eating his pack and staff beside the bed with the bolt case and crossbow. One dagger is strapped to the staff and one goes to bed with him, his boots are beside his pack next to the bed.
(I figure he will get up about 8 pm as the tavern gets up to full capacity for the night.)
Danica serves Flint the roast pork."it's still a little early" she tell him. Since the Bard went to lunch the place has been mostly empty "There are 2 dice games that are popular here" she tells him "Troll Chase and '17'. Well" she adds with some reluctance "three if you include Elven Cribbag"
[Playing Troll Chase for an hour abstracts to: 1. House rolls a 1d6 (well, you roll for the House) 2. You place your bet (up to 5gp is considered a 'friendly' game) 3. You roll 2 1d6*. Match 1 die win ×3 your bet. Match 2 dice win ×10. *There are side wagers you can make for the next roll. Next number rolled (1-6) ×2. 1die match ×5. 2dice match ×25
Playing '17' for an hour abstracts to: placing your bet. Picking a number of d6s to roll. If they add up to 15 or less you lose. 16 you break even. 17 you win ×10. Over 17 you lose. Let me know if any of that makes sense]
"I am Plume of Smoke on the Horizon of the Falling Rain clan, but you may call me 'Smoke' and it is my honor to meet you Journeyman Soriah of Seahold. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to share stories with you and of course I will keep you informed of anyone suspecious asks about you and your friends" then he confesses "In point of fact I haven't been investigating their disappearance as much as I have been taking advantage of it, though there is no advantage if I become the 4th Bard to disappear" he adds.
You believe he is telling you the truth, though you're not sure he isn't holding something back. Tabaxi can be a difficult read.
“Elven Cribbage? Not familiar with that one, why wouldn’t you count it, what’s wrong with it?” Flint asks Theran.
As Flint looks around the tavern, he realizes there is not much of a crowd. He knows better than to fish in an empty pond, and the old soldier in him also knows never to pass up an opportunity to eat or rest. He heads back up to the room to get some rest before the crowd makes their way in.
When he arrives back at the room, he strikes up a conversation with the others before relaxing. “I am going to work the room tonight to find out more about our employer if I can. Want to see what we got ourselves into and who could be coming after us. I will also take a turn guarding the door. What do you all want to do?”

Ula will accept the envelope from Imra, quickly tucking it into an interior pocket of their jacket. "I'm not much good at divining things, but I can take a look at it once I've got this ring attuned. Can't hurt." They shrug, and then add, "And yes, cities are always a bit noisy and smelly. But they're not so bad once you get used to them. Lots of adventures to be had, if nothing else. Dunno about the clocks, though."
After that, they'll go ahead and take the time to attune to the ring, and then follow Douglas's advice to take another close look around the room and the envelope with one use of the ring. (Investigation:15)
Once Imra is done looking out the window, Ula will also draw the curtains or shutters closed. But they'll wait until he's finished.
After that's all done, Ula isn't sure what else to do up here in the suite, but also doesn't think they should go downstairs with the letter on their person. So they'll just stay awake and alert for now, maybe near the fireplace.
“Elven Cribbage? Not familiar with that one, why wouldn’t you count it, what’s wrong with it?” Flint asks Theran.
"Well" Danica (oops) adds considering the topic for a moment" If you've been immersed in Elven culture, history, religion and folklore for more that a century I imagine it makes a lot of sense" she tells you with a grin "That's just not me" "Allright, as best I can remember" she says, seeming to steel herself for the effort "Elven Cribbag (the easy version) (4d4 each numbered 1, 3, 4, 6) Goal: The first player to throw a Hanali takes the pot. Throw four of these four sided dice. Of the 35 possible named rolls, look for these: Hanali – the best rolls: all the numbers are different Labelas Enoreth – 6 and any other combination of numbers: 6, #, #, # Sehanine – all numbers are the same (except 1): 4, 4, 4, 4 etc. Cooshee – the worst: 1, 1, 1, 1 Players alternate rolling and adding silver coins to the pot for each: Cooshee (3sp) Sehanine (2sp) or Labelas Enoreth (1sp) Until someone rolls a Hanali" she takes in a deep breath and feigns exhaustion for a laugh.

Asledin looks at Flint and tells him all is well. He nods at Flint's words and says, "Agreed. I would like to see this go smooth as well.". Asledin surveys the room, seeing only a few patrons he isn't too concerned. He does pay attention to the few patrons and tries to discern if they are paying attention to him or those in his group.
Perception: 6
He raises his hand in farewell to Flint, watching him go, then turns back to the people in the room.
Imra helps close the window and make sure it is shut tight. Then he patrols the room and makes sure that no hidden passages/methods of observation (like holes in the walls, etc.).
Investigation: 5
Then Imra will walk up to the fireplace and lay his bedroll on the ground to the side of it. Not in front, but to the side. His feet towards the fire, his head and eyes oriented away from the flame so he can clearly see the room. (At least as much as is possible in this room)
"Hey, have we divided up the principal payment as yet?"
(Sorry for the unannounced absence, I had a nasty stomach bug for a few days.)
Dyumi stumbles out of the bathroom, somehow looking greener than usual.
After ordering some bread and cheese, he will sit down and watch the dice game.

When Flint asks what everyone in the room wants to do, Ula will volunteer to either keep watching for now or to sleep now so they can take a night watch. "I'm better at fighting than trying to get information out of people, so I'm happy to leave most of the mingling downstairs to others. Someone else should take the envelope while I rest, though."
They'll then tell Imra that the payment hasn't been divided up yet, as far as they're aware. "Maybe we should divvy it up now? Are there any supplies we think we'll need to buy for this job?"
"I think we should split it apart now, and the extra can be used to get something for the table." Imra pulls his arms tight around himself, "Have you had a chance to look at the letter with the ring yet? What kind of supplies are needed? Maybe some wires and ropes to make traps? Game.... pieces to make it look like we are playing a dice... or poker?"
Asledin doesn't see anyone paying particular attention to their group, but he does find the following notice:
Today is Fifthday.
The clock tower chimes two, an hour later three and people start showing up. Just a few in the beginning. When a silver Dragonborn enters, he and three patrons already here go to one of the booths, already set up for card games and start playing. Two other patrons set up at one of the three lanes and begin practicing. They are both male Dwarves who brought their own target, intended for throwing axes. Others head to the bar to order drinks or food. A young half-orc male shows up and Theran takes him to a booth to talk.
Ula takes a long look at the envelope once they are attuned to the ring. "Huh. Well, whatever is in this envelope is...good? It's got a very powerful aura."
Does the ring reveal anything else that was invisible in the suite? Ula will walk around to double check before returning to their seat by the fireplace.
"As far as supplies, I think stuff to make traps is a great idea. I was also wondering if there's somewhere we could get something like a folded sheet of lead? Maybe if we can keep the envelope in that it'll be harder for other people to use magic to find it."
They will then help divide up the gold, taking their portion. They will put Douglas's share by his pack, make sure Flint and Imra each get theirs, and then set the rest in portioned piles on the table so the others can take their shares when they're back up here. The surplus will just go back in the sack, I guess.
Imra sits and ponders the ideas mentioned. He pockets the gold and then nods to Ulma.
**"I wonder where we can get stuff like that. I imagine there are.... 'shops' in town? We go in the morning? Who will stay here with the letter, should it stay here?"
As the clocktower strikes 4 the Dragon is starting to fill. Most of the clientele seem to know each other (and seem eager to meet anyone they don't know). The second card table fills up as well as the dice table. There are all kinds of games of strength, skills and chance from arm wrestling to dragon chess. The young half-orc Theran was taking to is now sweeping the floor while Theran is now sitting with a Dwarven girl.
Asledin's stomach growls, but the influx of patrons keeps his attention. His attention seems to be drawn to the arm wrestling going on across from him. Ocaasionally he will glance about the room and try to determine if anything looks out of the ordinary.
