"Not that I know of. Who brought the baby" Douglas asks as he puts the same furniture he just removed back in front of the door before getting behind the bed. "This feels familiar."
"It's Ziza's baby," Ula responds as they survey the makeshift barricade to make sure it's sturdy (investigation: 19). "And I'm pretty sure Ziza is Theran's wife, which I suppose would make it also Theran's baby. And the aura of the envelope is coming from the baby's basket, and a rat looked out of the basket and winked at me. So I'm pretty much out of ideas on how to proceed with...that."
They step back and look around the rest of the room. Has anything changed (visible or invisible, since the ring should still be active) since the last time they were up here?
"Not sure what exactly the orcs are up to, but Asledin was over near them and he looked concerned about it."
Ula will then go to the window in the bedroom. They'll open it up and reach out to where the rope ladder was tied up. Can it be detached and brought inside completely, so that it's not in any way accessible from the outside? (I don't think this has been done already - apologies if it was earlier)
As the orcs walk by to head towards the stairs, Imra looks to Asledin and mouths, **"sorry"**.
Then he gets up and stands in front of them, "Hey now, do you have keys here? Folks have been stirring up trouble and going where they shouldn't. You gentlemen don't plan on causing a ruckus do you?"
He holds up a forestalling hand, "Don't get it twisted, I don't care you're orcs. There's been all sorts of troublemakers. Halflings, humans and more. Just... the innkeepers a wonderful lady....."
Flint looks over the poetry “This is good work, very good.”He pats Dash on the back “You have a way with words. Don’t worry about using the room, my friends and I probably will not be back here. Truth is, I don’t really know Raskin myself, just took this job on.” Flint rubs his head “You know, there is some crazy things going on around here, I would appreciate it if you would help keep an eye out for us. I would make it worth your while.”Flint flips a gold coin over to Dash “It doesn’t hurt having an extra set of eyes around the place. Did you notice anyone new here tonight, anything out of the ordinary? Other than us” he chuckles
Persuasion: 18.
Dash brightens up when you compliment his writing. He agrees to keep an eye out and report to you. He catches the gold coin and looks very appreciative.
"Thank you" he tells you "You can count on me"
At the same instant the Bell Tower chimes once for midnight and a shock-wave rumbles through the room, shaking the floor and walls.
"Anything out of the ordinary? You mean like that?" Dash says with a grin as the two of you race to the door and out into the Dragon's main room.
Ula will then go to the window in the bedroom. They'll open it up and reach out to where the rope ladder was tied up. Can it be detached and brought inside completely, so that it's not in any way accessible from the outside? (I don't think this has been done already - apologies if it was earlier)
The rolled up rope ladder is attached to the window sill on the inside of the room
One of the Orcs breaks off from the rest, puts a hand on Imra's shoulder and tries to guide him away "It's all fine, everything is normal" he assures Imra in a low, gravely voice.
The three other Orcs race up the stairs. In what appears to be a very thoroughly rehearsed set of moves as they reach the door, one pulls the pack of the largest Orc then the other pulls a sheet of wax paper off the inside of the pack (the part that would have been against the Orcs back) exposing glue. The largest Orc grabs an exposed string at the top of the pack and backs down the stairs till he's pulled about 20' of string and it goes taught. The two other Orcs retreat to his position and brace themselves
The Orc engaging with Imra pushes him back and rushes up the stairs "Stay here for your safety" he growls
The Orc pulls the string, Something inside the pack slides. Suddenly the door, door frame, the table outside the door, furniture inside the door fall through the newly created portal into the Astral plane. Seconds later the hole closes up and the Orcs charge into the room.
There's a reason Haven authorities come down so hard on unauthorized planar travel. Rifts open up all through the Dragon and around the neighborhood. Several people vanish into them including a whole table of friends. Several newcomers to Haven and one cow land at different locations in the Dragon.
As Douglas, taking three quarters cover behind the bed is surprised to see the door, walls, floor, ceiling, and furniture sucked into a portal. It turns out he might not be the greatest wizard ever for it seemed folks here used spacial and planar magic in a recklessly casual Willy nilly sort of way.
All the same his life and the inn are under attack and he recovers quickly shouting ,"Theran,! True Violence is starting NOW!" As the first orc rounds the corner of the door. Douglas aims the end off his staff at the five foot cube just inside the room passed what the portal took out. He cast a spell in an ancient tongue known to few on his home world, perhaps none here casting Create Bonfire.
He then up ends the bed on its side so it can not simply be jumped on top of to attack him, knocking his pack and sending the pile of fifty gold pieces scattering across the floor. He takes as much of full cover as he can behind the bed.
“What in the nine hells?”Fint growls as the shockwave shakes the room and then follows Dash back out into the main room. The main room is pandemonium, people shouting, holes visible in the walls and floor, and, inexplicably, a cow wandering the main room. Despite this, Flint immediately looks to the room of the suite, and notices the damage surrounding the door and hears Douglas' cry from inside. Flint knows it is not good. “Bloody hells”he growls again and dashes to the room, taking the steps two at a time to close the distance.
Asledin watched the confrontation between Imra and the Orcs closely, scooting to the edge of his seat in case Imra needed back up. As the Orcs shove past, Asledin stands and takes a few steps to stand near Imra, "These guys are up to no good." He will say. As the Orcs traverse the stairs, Asledin adds, "We should follow them, those in the room will need our help.". Asledin pauses when the Orcs begin their setting up, curious as to what they are up too, then runs for the stairs when the door disappears.
Even after the explosion knocks them backwards, Ula can't help but grin when the action starts. A familiar sense of calm washes over them. Smiling mice, magical envelopes, talking dolls, and babies? They've felt confused and out of their depth all evening. But explosions and combat? Those things make sense. [Bonus Action -- Rage]
Ula remains as close to the doorway as they can while avoiding any bonfires or holes in the floor. She hefts her quarterstaff, taking comfort in its familiar weight and preparing to attack whichever enemy breaches the room first. [Attack action (held if the orcs aren't in the room yet) -- 16 to hit/8+2=10 damage]

It's just after midnight and the front door of the Suite and most of what was near it was blown out a sudden portal opening into the Astral plane and closing again.
Douglas is in the bedroom of the Suite taking cover behind the bed he upturned and spilling either 50gp or the sack with the 500gp in it (I'm confused here, but anyway, lot of gold coins on the floor) after creating a bonfire in what's left of the entrance to the Suite
Ula is just behind what's left of the wall at the front of the Suite, Quarterstaff in hand, raged up and ready to clock whoever comes through what's left of that door
Three of the Orcs who are all wearing half-plate armor disguised to look like cloth (all AC 16) and led by the largest (who is about to get clocked) is at the top of the stairs and making their way thorough the rubble and flames
A few feet behind is the fourth Orc, followed by Asledin and Imra not far behind him.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs is Flint followed by Dash who grabs a broom along the way.
crawf_25 will need to roll another d20 for Ula who has advantage. Really your just looking to see if you get a Nat20 or not
Got Initiative for Imra so far. Everyone else roll initiative. It doesn't affect Ula's first shot
Lilli suddenly get up "It's gone" she says in surprise, forgetting signals and subterfuge "It's just gone!"
There is no sign of Dyumi Soriah or, in case anyone notices Ziza
As the largest of the Orcs crosses what's left of the threshold to the Suite he gets a Quarterstaff across the face, staggering him. He still makes it into the Suite. All four Orcs have AC 16
