Ula will also work to clean the room, and try to see if there are any minor repairs they can make with the use of telekinesis, mage hand, and just their experience swabbing decks and repairing ships. If someone starts laying boards down, they will jump in to help with that. Any work they can get done up here might serve to lessen Theran's anger, and reduce the amount on their tab. And if Ziza does still have the letter, it'll be best to stay on their good side.
After things are as tidied up as possible, considering the circumstances, Ula will peer over the balcony to try to subtly check on Imra and Asledin. She assumes they know what they're doing, infiltrating/joining with another group, and doesn't want to disrupt that. But she'll still try to discreetly see/overhear what's going on downstairs to make sure they're not in any trouble.
Douglas continues cleaning up the room getting it ready for those who have not slept, even going so far as to use Prestidigitation to clean blood, soot, and stains. He draws the curtains across the windows and places a chair inside the curtain (between the curtain and the wall/window) just to the side of the window, making it possible for someone to subtly peak around the curtain to the outside without drawing attention or opening the curtains.
He will position a second chair and table about ten feet into the center of the room from the hole in the floor and the entrance, giving whomever sits there both a station to comfortably guard from and an object to use to block the entrance (the table). He will fetch these items from the bar if he needs to.
He will open the door to the bathroom and replace the board to the hidden pipe compartment. If either room has a closet, wardrobe, chest, or cupboard he will open them, leaving them open and exposed. He will gather his pack and gear, noticeably leaving the gold on the floor, and deposit it on the table along with the doll (if it is still in the room) along with any other oddities. He will start a normal small fire in the fire place.
Once all that is completed he will take a seat at the table to look at the oddities before he takes a deeper look at the book he received (stole) from his previous Master.
Perception 21
Arcana 24
Reading through your former Master's book of spells you come to something that appears to be a binding spell but something seems 'off' about it. Much of it is beyond you but you understand binding spells well enough to pick out the words that, in reverse order would release whatever was bound this way. As you work to understand what you're reading say the words out loud.
With a small flash and a whiff of brimstone, a very confused Imp stands in front of you. He looks around the room, then back to you, regarding you seriously.
"Is it you who released me? Is (your former Master) dead?" he asks "He bound me to that book you hold because I would not relent on a part of our contract. He wished me to continue my services to him longer than originally agreed upon. I am in your debit for releasing me. If you would wish, I would serve you for a period of one year. Of if there is nothing you want from me, you could simply release me" he finishes, eyeing you intently.
Flint gives a small smile to Trina and a confused nod to Effie “Pleased to meet them.” His confusion turns to complete puzzlement when Zizza hands thim the letter. He quickly takes it from here and slides in inside his armor, trying to hide it from any others in the room. He takes a quick look around to see if anyone noticed.

Flint looks back at Zizza “You are right, I have no idea what is going on. The middle of a war zone, over a letter? What is in it, what is this all about? Why are you helping us?”
"Well, mostly it's that I'm nosey and like to meddle" she says with a smile and a shrug. "I do have rules though. I never act in a way that's contrary to a guests best interests. I don't believe I have in this case. I saw the old man, or whatever it was, lift the letter from your friend. He's good, but he's not me" she says with a grin
"When the Danarians escaped from Hell they inadvertently brought something with them, something quite evil, something that had been using Haven to aid in an ongoing war between various powers. Not some eternal battle between good and evil. This is something more . . . parochial. More of a turf war between powerful entities. This evil creature was able send various sorts of aid to one side or the other without reprisal. It would do whatever that would increase it's value and power That evil is gone now"
She looks at the weapons you carry and adds "if I'm not mistaken a slight wiff of that creatures evil still lingers or that weapon of yours"
"and with it gone, we have a power vacuum that others wish to fill. I'm not sure how this . . . "

she says, reaching into a different pocket, taking the envelop out and handing it to you. You check and it's gone from where you stashed it in your armor.
"fits into all of this. As far as "on your side" goes, I haven't decided. If you're looking for someone willing to risk their life to protect Haven, Theran and I aren't your answer. Try the Guard or the Exploration House. Mostly we look out for each other and this" indicating Trina "smelly little bundle of joy. If Theran thinks you're going to damage the Dragon, physically or its business or reputation, she will put the lot of you to the curb, hard. If it appears that your success helps to insure Trina's future then you'll have what help we can give you. Oh! Can you see if Theran is still behind the bar?"
You glance over but don't see her. When you look back Zizza and the basket are gone.

No one notices you look. With most of the crowd gone it's easy to spot Asledin and Imra talking to a Gnome a Dragonborn and suddenly seeming to step out of nowhere, an rather grimy looking Halfling. You also see Zizza and Flint at her table below you as she hands him the envelope.
Douglas looks over the creature in great interest as it asks its Questions. He glances a Ula to see if she has noticed but his attention immediately returns to the Imp, hearing it out.
"My name is Douglas and I believe I did release you from the book. As far as I currently understand Devinter (former master's name) is still alive but on another plane of existence. He was taking Alliestor for his graduation rite when I used the book to escape the tower.", Douglas will inform the Imp before continuing.
"Devinter was a thoroughly evil and despicable person as far as I could perceive over the last fourteen years, it does not surprise me that he sought to imprison you. I have no reason to extend that evil towards you by binding you to service for a year, even as recompense for the service of releasing you."
Douglas' eyes grow sharp as he looks the Imp in the eye. "The only payment I ask of you for releasing you is that by your true name, so long as you do no physical, mental, or emotional harm to any being on this plane, who does not attack you first; then you are free to go a be as you see as best for you."
Douglas sits back a bit more relaxed after that tense moment and asks, "What may I call you?"

"You may call me Oraq'yiz" he tells you "My freedom is no small thing, to me at least. You do mean sentient being don't you? That doesn't include small birds or rodents I might hunt for sustenance? If so then, yes I promise to leave in peace all who leave me in peace"
Douglas smiles at the Imp, "Do you require sustenance to survive? How then do your kind survive for centuries trapped in magic circles?" , he questions to the imp or to himself it is not apparent.
"In any event my wording was quite intentional and specific, as long as you agree to the terms of that wording, being, "that by your true name, so long as you do no physical, mental, or emotional harm to any being on this plane, who does not attack you first; then you are free to go a be as you see as best for you.", without addition, subtraction or alterations." Douglas retorts to the creatures attempt to squeeze open interpretations and subclauses into the agreement.

Asledin returns his gaze to those in front of him and says, "I'm gonna find the innkeep, see about a bed.". With that, he will walk away and seek out Theran. If he finds her, he will ask about a pallet in the bunkroom.
After observing the happenings downstairs, Ula will turn back from the balcony and re-enter the suite. They plan to tell Douglas that it seems the envelope is safely back in the party's possession. Do they see the imp?
"Now that your free, Oraq'yiz, what would you like to do? Can I order you some food or drink? Do you need some money?" Douglas asks.
"You would serve me food or drink?" he says puzzled "I don't know what to say. We Imps are generally seen as servants or worse, Maybe the proper thing would be to refuse, but I am quite hungry. Are there eating establishments open this late into the night? Actually if you have rations, that would be wonderful. Thank you" he says, looking as grateful as he is bewildered.

Yes, they see Douglas talking to this strange little creature (or not so strange if they've seen Imps before). He is 2 1/2feet tall, red, with wings, horns and a barbed tail. He moves to put Douglas between them. "Are you a friend of Douglas?" he asks in a cultured and oddly deep voice for a being so small
Douglas digs out his rations to add to the food brought up earlier and pours some of the beer brought up earlier, including another mug of water, putting them before the imp.
Seeing the imp move around Douglas away from the food he turns to see Ula enter, hearing Oraq'yiz's question.
"Yes. This is Ula, Ula this is Oraq'yiz. Ula and I are working together on a job, and I guess now companions in combat. Ula, Oraq'yiz was trapped in a book I had, and is now free."
