Flint sits down and leans his chair back against the wall, keeping a sharp eye on the workers. “Sorry about the mess, boys. This probably doesn’t happen often. How long have you been working here?” He notices Douglas cover the letter with his hand and watches the workers to see if anyone is paying attention to the letter.

Asledin will have headed for the bunkroom for the evening. The following morning, by 10 for sure, he will have risen and headed for the bar for breakfast. It will have dawned on him, when he paid for the bunks, that he never collected his gold. With this in mind, he will try to find an opportunity to get up to the room, without being spotted by any of the other party. He will do this, even if it means leaving his breakfast on the bar.

Almos, the barkeep notices you're detracted "If you're finished I can dlear that for you or I can keep an eye on it till you get back if you need" he says while wiping down the bar. The Dragon is pretty empty and you can head upstairs unnoticed
Douglas looks around for Oraq'yiz and feels the envelope, its shape, it's weight, it's texture, noting its coloration and any discoloration or markings; to be sure it is still the original. He also glances at the pulled curtain blocking out the window and the open door. Finally his eyes return to the fireplace and it's chimney as he waits for his food and thinks.
Asledin glances at Almos, his breakfast, around the room, then back at Almos. With a nod, he will quickly shovel in a bite of potatoes, knocking some eggs onto the bar. Around the mouthful of food he says, "Aye, watch oer it fr meh, i'll beh right bck.". With a sleeve Asledin will swipe a few food particles from his mouth and head for the stairs. As he leaves his stool, he will deftly scoop a majority of the spilt eggs from the bar and pack them into his mouth.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Asledin will ascend the stairs and carefully eye the workers as he enters the room. Once completely inside, Asledin surveys the room. Apon seeing Oraq'yiz, Asledin will tense and drop his hand on to his sword. Noting the letter is still present, and that no one is trying to kill anyone or anything, Asledin visibly relaxes and nods to Douglas and Flint. "Hellova night.", Asledin says while he heads over to his pack and shield. Asledin will grab his pack and shoulder one of the straps, turn around and look around the room again.
Perception: 20
(He is making an honest effort to slowly look around the room, up and down, only to see if anything else looks amiss or catches his attention.)
Asledin will return to the table, eye the pile of gold, and grab a handful of coins. Stuffing that in his purse, he will say, "I'll be downstairs, watchin'.". "You know...", he adds, "This other group down there is bound to make a move on that thing." Asledin stabs a finger at the letter and then continues, "I hope this repair crew is as quick as they are noisy." Looking at Oraq'yiz Asledin asks, "What is that?"
(I am assuming that Oraq'yiz is still in the room.)
Douglas smiles,"That's Oraq'yiz. Most humans refer to his people as devils. He was trapped in a book I had, I let him out. He's figuring things out for himself." Douglas remarks lightly. You can tell that even the odd subject matter being discussed, that simply talking relieves some of his stress.
"Yes it was a rough night. I think our land ladies would appreciate there not being a second one. Let us hope the second group takes a cue from the first two attempts and discards smash and grab and frontal assault. I'm actually surprised no one has tried negotiating, reasoning, or buying it. That would have been my first three attempts before open theft.", Douglas shrugs
“Bah, let them come”Flint barks out a short laugh at Asledin “We will deal with them like the others.” He moves his maul in easy reach of the chair, still keeping his eyes on the workers. He shrugs at Douglas “Not all folks have a way with words, and negotiating can take time and be delicate. Much easier to run a smash and grab, and you can do it without letting folks know you are interested in it until it is too late. It’s not really the group downstairs I am worried about, it is the ones we don’t know about.”
Ula is feeling only marginally better about everything after a restless night. They're not used to being faced with moral obligations, and they don't particularly like that this feels like one. Eventually they come to the conclusion that it's best to just get the job done and then never think about it again.
When Danica comes to the room, Ula will order tea and ask for whatever porridge/oatmeal/gruel type breakfast is available. Upon seeing how attentively Danica is dusting that corner, Ula will try to get a closer look at what she's doing with the sack. Is there anything in it? Or does it look like she's trying to grab something with it? (Unfortunately I don't think they see much. Perception:6 and Investigation:5)
Once Danica leaves, Ula will speak the command word to use the ring again, checking for anything invisible -- particularly in the corner where Danica was, and among the construction crew.

The sack looks empty and she could be looking for the doll. Certainly she's looking for something in that corner.
First thing you notice after saying the password is Oraq'yiz standing their casually watching you and the group. He catches your gaze for a moment. Realizing you can see him he smiles and waves, then points to the carpenters then covers his eyes momentarily. He repeats these two gestures then holds his forefinger over his lips. You don't find anything else invisible in the Suite
In less time than you would imagine the repairs to the Suite are finished and cleaned up. Furniture has been replaced and Danica is bring up the orders for Douglas and Ula (and anyone else who didn't get a chance to order).
Once they are gone Oraq'yiz appears beside Douglas
"Pardon my disappearance" he says "I don't see any need to announce my presence to so many people. I will need to leave at some point. If I can't find someone to serve, I have to return to Hell. Not my first choice. This place is called 'Haven'?"
"From what I understand that is what the residents have named this place, Oraq'yiz. As for you needing to serve or return, I think you might find you happen to have fallen into a strange magical interplaniar loophole. By imprisoning you in the book my old master in effect made you a slave to the book. As long as it exist, and you serve it, you would technically be able to stay indefinitely. ", Douglas replies as he looks at the book that brought him here with disappointment.
Shutting the book, with a sigh, he holds it out to Oraq'yiz, "Here you go. The book is now your possession and you its servant."

"Yeah, it's a nice thought but my superiors are the authorities on the clever loopholes and I'd probably wind up demoted and put on the front lines. Thanks, but I don't think it would work. Besides, I enjoy assisting in research. It's something I'm good at. There are always good opportunities for a research assistant.
"I think it depends on how you use your time here, Oraq'yiz. There are several possibilities for you to be the faithful subordinate and make something for yourself. It is my rather poor understanding that some of the residents here were trapped in the abyss for a while and have a poor relationship with those of that plane. It is also seems to be a rather newly discovered plane that has problems with planar and spatial magic. It may be possible for you to set up trade or to recruit for the tartus war." , Douglas responds. "Or if your looking for an out from your current hierarchy you could start a cult."
Flint leans back in his chair “Eh, let’s stay away from the cults. We already had one here that didn’t work out well”He thinks back to the masquerade ball and rubs his jaw at the memory of the boar tusks he once wore. “But we could use a research assistant, help us figure out who ants this thing and how we can keep it safe.” He looks over at Douglas “Do we even remember who we are supposed to give it to?”
