<The rarity system is bonkers. It's spilt in the dmg into major and minor for each rarity, but they don't say so explicitly, they're just on different tables. Just the more potent, the harder it is to get, a fact mitigated by the inclusion of charges.
Very rare feels about right, but swing for the fences, worst I'll say is 'no' but more likely some form of "yes, but..." also if youre questing for it, wven if it is a bof standard item, we can try to make it unique and that narrartive should be reflexted in somw asoect of the mechanics or at the keast aesthetics of rhe item.>

Youve already got new magic items on the horizon, so thst woukd take care of a hook for the right now.>

Fair could Sam use disguise self to get him self a breastplate so he doesn’t have an AC of 14 at the moment
You're in a town known for exceptional armor. S9 long as you're at Ussa's whe. You cast it, you're unlikely to be caught in the casting. It is quite likely that a Cloak will have detect magic up, so if you're walking g around d using DS, you'll have to watch out for thise guys. Also Mulmaster us 25% more expensive than other places.
Now, my twist is thst masterwork items can get a static bonus, so you could just buy a +1 armor here. Not everywhere, but certainly ly in Mulmaster. And by the same homebrew item rules, that item would not be magical.
(I think Navarra was not present in the region of Mulmaster during the 'dream' or whatever it was. She's probably inside a vessel that's heading towards Thentia.
I want to craft or repair her Hathran mask which is a modified version of the Mask of the Beast. If it's possible, she will love to have a marvellous short bow enchanted to gain temporary charges for specialized attack. Last but not least, she needs clothes for cold weather.)
<seems like Navarra was on Mulmaster, but I don't mind the retcon>
Cold weather clothes are reasonably plentiful un Mulmaster. It's a really cold place and the popular fashion is heavy mittens and furred aprons and cloaks.
Is the shortcoming backstory ir front story? (Do you already have it ir not)? Where us UT from?
I'll work on the bow enchanting and mask repair and get back to you.
(She was inside Mulmaster before the dream but boarded on the vessel during the dream, either through sleepwalking or consciously. I just feel the need to disassociate her from the group for story purposes at the same time leaving behind some sort of clue to unite the members. The cold weather cloth is part of the trace.)
To be clear, it was actually temporal displacement. It's very philosophical to consider if a thi g you remember thar happened then didn't is in fact a dream, but that speaks to a potentially expanded definit9on if the word in a world aware if reverse tine travel. My confusion is, I'd she showed up at Ussa's, then didn't tbe next time, something must have changed he'd. It's totally possible in a butterfly effect sort if way and oddly makes for a monocanonical retcon. In any event, it is as youbsay - for whatever reason, Navarra bever arrived at Ussa's house. Since her presence is in no way connected to the mundane events that followed the embassy break-in, she does t have to leave in the night, u less she's trying to use the cover if dark to depart undetected. Whoxh suggests someone would be interested in knowing of or perhaps preventing her departure.
I've been seeing Angus as more a part of Myth Drannor's heritage and history, whoch aligns with the story well, so elven things like mithral armor woukd be story relevant. If you wanted to try for a Hoky avenger, it would be a deific boon, so we'd have to meet a task a divine entity thought they could use some help with. That's a tall order, but could be done. Who was Angus' patron deity, again?
Thinking about the bronze armor, it would be fine, but noting the lack of attunement event in my homebrew, I would just say normal donning and doffing armor mechanics apply if yiu went with that.
Frost brand would be interesting since it's shedding light in the cold.
Just pick one for now, none are impossible. But the HA is going to take longer to get and there's some chsnce of failure. Note: crafting big tivket items gas a low chance imof failure, but the prerequisite mission has a chsnce if failure, in this case you'd basically be lerformimg some kind of miracle or something along those lines.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sam can buy the armor right in Mulmaster, +1 is available there, but the armor is +25% gp because Mulmaster ...
The prayer bead necklace you can have as a gift from Zehira.
Neither item counts towards the proficiency bonus number of items.
@everyone- if there's any uncertainty about which items 'count' towards that limit, we can discuss ir and figure it out. It is 'legal' to hold more than the limit, but you intuitively feel uneasy because it something with potentially negative consequences and the ominous feeling that energy interaction creates let's you know uts a bad idea. Plus you've probably heard some kind if rumor or fsbke or lore if some kind about folks who tried to use too many magic items and things thst happened to them.
In the case kf the armor, it's not magic. Some.
The prayer beads count the same as a pack of scrolls, which is to say they don't count.
It's not a given that you'd just be able to find these anywhere. But Maelstrom could certainly spare this item as a gift for stopping the transfer of the loving blade of destruction to Thay.
Since the limit of the magical item is very rare Chadderlay will swing for the fences and seek to somehow acquire a Staff of Power

(That's a potential plot hook, but she's deliberately leaving behind clues to draw the party or enemy towards the northern region. Is there any in-game books that might contain lore about giants?)
Angus will quest or craft the mithral armorPlate +1(rare) orPlate +2(very rare). So, are you thinking that I come up with the story of how he encounters it, or is that something you want to do? Could be an old armor of Dove's, or another friend of his that died. Could be an item that he heard about in the Myth Drannor area but never had time to chase down.
<sorry im a bit behind on tha campaign. I deliberarely set it up to create extra workfor mysekf, then thr etiming plopped tjst right when my wife is out if town and the kids im left to watch start getting sick and so im a bit more oressed for time thsn i thought i woukd be. I am concocting stories though and thst is 90% of my writing bottleneck generally. Youve all been great with your leads gooks and other inputs. No promises on ptogress buy im pretty optimistic most of the party will have things to do by midweek.>
<giant 'lore' in game. Some mention in Agalond's "A Guide to the Cold North". Certainly "Living a Dream: Three Years Among Stone Giants" would have some useful information, and rhough the events are fictitious, it's possible some intimate knowledge of giants could be gleaned by reading rhe chapbook "The Giantess' Curse"
While we're on it, it might be handy to find a copy of the very rare "Transubstiality Across Potentialities".

You can literally just buy it in the city you're already in. Like, with money.

(OOC, well swinging for the fences for Angus would probably be a Holy Avenger. If the Avenger is out of reach, maybe a sun blade or a Frost Brand. A nice upgraded armor like molten bronze skin or mithral armor plate +1 would be helpful as well.)

(Sam would want a necklace of prayer beads or a necklace of adaptation and a +1 half plate)

Sam's necklace will have 6 magic beads...
3, 15, 6, 16, 5,
That's 2 beads of blessing (bless), 2 of smiting (branding smite) , one of summons, (planar ally) and 1 wind walking (wind walk).

(How much for mithral half plate +1? Shield +1?)
According to our source over at Level Up (aka A5e) these are the prices.
65gp for +1 half plate.
1000gp for +1 shield
I thought that top line value was an error, so I checked the book. It's 2000gp.
