"Hey Pip, what are the stone giants like around here? Any chance they might let us pass if we're nice to them?"

"Well they're less murder hungry than hill giants." Pip replies. "However, I know they have serious enmity with dwarves since the ancient days. Don't know how well we'll go down. If we had something nice as a gift, they might grant us passage. Stories say they are the best masons of the olden times, rivalled only by dwarves, hence the dislike for each other."
As the group is chatting, a pair of large stony humanoid forms can be seen striding from around a huge rock formation, carrying between them a massive boulder around the size of one of them.
The stone giants appear to be focused on moving the enormous stone boulder at this moment in time, allowing for the group to get behind a rocky outcrop for cover.
"Guess we'll take the higher path." Pip replies. He points to another set of precariously balanced stones. "We can hide behind them along the way. Maybe the taller ones will have to squat down or crawl for a moment."
(Can I get a group Stealth check again, please?)
The low rumblings of the stone giants can be heard in the quarry below as there is a crashing noise. Checking below, it looks like the stone giants spotted a large snake and have thrown a slightly smaller boulder at it, crushing it in the process.

The group makes its way along the hillside towards the next rocky outcrop. As they are approaching, a huge screech can be heard as a vulture in a nearby tree echoes its noise through the quarry. Rushing to the cover, some small stones fall from the outcrop down into the quarry. The stone giants slowly turn their attention up to the outcrop. There is a few quiet seconds of near silence, just the echoes of the fallen stones reverberating through the quarry.
"Keep really still." Pip warns the group in a hushed tone.
After a moment of not moving, the rumbling noise of the boulder moving tells the group the giants have returned to their task. "Phew, that was close." Pip says with a sigh of relief. Looking back at the tree, the vulture seems to have flown off. "There's only a little further before we're out of the steppe. Keep an eye out though."
Continuing on the high path, the group can see that there are other creepy crawlies coming out in the night time; some giant bats fly out in the open, while a couple of rustlings in bushes reveal to be mice scavenging.
"There!" Pip quietly points down the hill. "That's the end of Steppe. It's the badlands from here out." Ahead of the hills, the land quickly changes from the grassy areas the group is used to, and barren dusty land is ahead. The trees all look charred and broken, as if destroyed by ancient evils. "There's scarier things than giants out here, so let's pray to Pelor they don't find us. We're still maybe a day's travel from our destination." Descending down the hill, the group can feel a change in the air; it goes from the mild breeze of a pleasant evening to a dull dry chill.
"I guess this is where it gets interesting. I'm still a bit curious about those anti-magic stones, could one of you alert me in case we happen to pass by some of those?"
Liavyre begins to scout ahead. "Hey, wait for me!" Pip says, following along beside her. The two lead the group through the sudden desert of dust and decay. The air becomes bitter to taste and throats feel parched, even in this cool night breeze. "Blasted devil stuff." Pip grumbles as they march forward.
For Liavyre:
The two of you stop when up ahead you can see what appears to be a pair of small demonic entities with bat-like wings giggling with glee. They appear to be teasing a badly wounded wolf, which has a large open wound across its hindquarters, making it incapable of using its hind legs. One of them grabs a rock and chucks it at the wolf, smacking it squarely on the snout and make a quiet yelp.
There is a bit of deadwood around 20 feet before the two imps playing with their "toy". The group can easily sneak up to there before acting (the imps are too preoccupied with their tormenting), should they wish to surprise the imps with something. (Would the group like to make a surprise round? There is enough cover for two people side-by-side, so assuming that Ragmin would like to be one of the closer people due to his short stature).
Liavyre won't stand for them torturing an innocent creature of the forest and not protecting it would violate her "agreement" with the Forest Sentinel.
She intends to attack. Preferably with a surprise round.
If they are fiends then they would be one of her favored enemies
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thea follows the scout's signaling and sneaks into cover. Witnessing the scene in front of her and Liavyre's reaction to it, she readies herself to attack. First, however, she will try to see if anything might propose that the group is running into any sort of trap or ambush.

Liavyre says, "It may be best to continue discussion while moving." pointing to the 2 figures.
She jumps behind a rock or any cover beside the group to hide.
