Darbakh shakes his head when Redoff offers the weapons to the group. “Well earned loot for the rest of you; best to sell it when we return to that town…if we return to that town. Where do we go from here?”

*Let me try again: encumbrance*
(( Since there is decent coin to be made from turning in all the extra gear you find (although I understand a lot of DMs don't bother with it,) I'd say yes, it makes sense to have encumbrance act as a restraint. ))
The party continues forward, batting away insects as you trudge through the muck. Mercifully, the terrain becomes drier as you advance, and after about an hour, you push past a canopy of leaves and find a stunning visage before you. An entire village in the trees--about 20 wooden houses--connected by bridges. One ladder leading up (among many) lies in front of you, reaching up about thirty feet high.
The village seems eerily quiet--there are no voices, no sounds of humanoid activity... just the buzzing of insects and the occasional cry from a wild bird or beast.
(( The party can choose to climb and investigate the village, or can attempt to walk past at ground level. The ladder is sturdy; no check needed to climb, but if the party investigates, I'll need a Perception check from those who stay on the ground, and a Perception check (with advantage) from those who choose to go up.
On the off chance the party chooses to just walk past the village, I'll need from everyone a Perception check with disadvantage. ))
Darbakh initially stays on the ground while Aeron and Evan go up, gripping his maul and looking all shifty and suspicious at their unfamiliar surroundings.
(Rod, I’m on mobile and can’t figure out how to use the roll tool. Would you be amenable to rolling perception for Darbakh and his familiar on my behalf?)

"Huh. Not seen the likes o' that before," mused Whistler as he watched Aeron and Evan climb toward the village. Mulling over his options, the bounty hunter eventually looked around, shrugged to himself, and followed up the ladder after his companions.

You can make a second roll for Evan if you like; everyone going up the ladder gets advantage on their roll.Nevermind, I realized it's just the roller acting wonky again.
