As soon as Lana begins investigating the door and prodding at it with her Thieves' Tools, Rel moves to tap Lana's shoulder and confer her father's divine guidance to her, but then quickly hops back when she hears the crossbow bolt, realizing that the tiefling had it covered on her own.
"Well done. This house is full of nasty surprises. Hard to imagine these hazards all existed when the Briarwoods still lived here."
Rel does cast Guidance on Lana regardless, before herself moving back to the rear-guard position, watching for anyone or anything stalking the party.
"If these were Briarwoods, they were sure weird. But this idea of squatters fortifying everything looks more reasonable. Let's see what is behind that trapped door."Lana carefully opened the disarmed door (if it is unlocked, and if not - will try to pick the lock and then open it. Another Thieves' Tools roll: 24)
Opening the door, natural light once again hits your eyes as you look upon a very well decorated bedroom. Crimson and grey colored pillows and linens lie on the well made bed with storage chests on either side. A throw rug of complimentary colors lying on the floor in front of it. A large desk with various parchments, books and ink wells sits opposite the bed. The natural light that shines in is telling that this was probably not the Briarwoods bedrooms but perhaps a guest bedroom.
Zane
You do not notice anything telling of the brazier with your roll.
Tex tries to get Lana's attention and points to his eyes and then into the room to gesture that he wants to have a good look into the room in an effort to determine if there is anything magical inside, especially inside the chests and the desk, but also under the floor or, perhaps in the neighbouring room. His view might linger a split second longer on the rug to make sure that it's an ordinary one.

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
"Good point." Before moving out of Tex's way, Lana too sent a bolt into the carpet, pinning it to the floor. Just in case.
The documents on the desk could be interesting, but she cared more about the room itself, so, carefully stepped in too just to look around. (Perception 12with Guidance)
Looking into the room and looking around a bit, you do not see any sources of magic within the area.
Lana
With your perception roll, beyond what was already described, nothing seems to stand out as unusual or suspicious.
Lanafires a crossbow bolt into the rug and it pierces through with a familiar 'thunk' as it penetrates the wood beneath the rug. It does not appear to be an animated object.
"Doesn't seem to be anything magical in the room and vicinity. Doesn't mean it's clear, though. Proceed with caution." Tex enters the room, with Lizzy remaining outside and he glances over the documents on the desk. (Investigation: 23)

Tex, you take some time looking through the desk. Flip through pages of mostly historical articles as well as fictional readings. While flipping one book, a loose page falls from it and floats to the floor and rests at your feet. Picking it up you read it..
Day 8 of the Briarwood investigation,
I've spent the day at the Briarwood Manor, and I have to admit, my suspicions about Sylas and Delilah have only grown stronger. The way they speak to each other, the way they look at others, it's all just too unnerving.
I tried to keep my distance from them, but I couldn't help overhearing their conversations. They seem to have some sort of grand plan, and I'm not sure I want to be a part of it.
The worst part is, I can't shake the feeling that they know I'm onto them. They watch me with a certain intensity, as if waiting for me to slip up. I'm starting to feel paranoid.
I know I should leave, but something about this place and its inhabitants has me intrigued. I'll spend one more day here and then make my decision.
But for now, I'll keep my eyes and ears open, and hope that I'm just being overly cautious.
~

Tex shows the note to the rest of the group, "This appears to be very old, right? Looks like no one has been in here for a long time. It's not going to give us insight into our current problem. I say we can pick the place clean and continue quickly." Tex checks the drawers for traps (Investigation with guidance?: 10 + 3), unlocks it if locked (Thieves' Tools with guidance?: 21 + 3) and opens them.

With most of you thoroughly investigating the rest of the room, you quickly find that it has purposefully been left bare of anything of greater value, though the pillows and linens do seem quite luxurious and could be worth a gold or two to the right buyer. There also does not seem to be any sort of hidden compartments or doorways.

Zane grabs all the pillows and throws them over the railing and down to the ground floor at the eastern door. "Something to throw down that tunnel to make a softer landing should we return there."
He looks at the other westerly door and recalls the floor layout below. "This must be somewhat larger. It's directly above the dining room and the rest of the areas we entered from."
He backs away to let the others figure out the door once more. While doing so, he quietly walks all the way to the other side of the balcony and stands next to the eastern door. He turns his head this way and that to try to listen if anything is going on inside, all the while keeping the rest of the group in sight. Perception check: 22
Lana watched the pillows landing all the way down and shook her head. "Would not count on a soft landing with these few softeners. Let's hope it won't come to this."
She moved to the next (still western) door and checked it out. (Perception: 15, Investigtion: 8 (with Guydence)). Should any trap be spotted, another attempt to disarm the thing (with Thieves' Tools: 18) and open the door.
"You know, the other door went well but better safe than sorry - step back everyone." She hoped for the best but luck was quite fickle so far.

Rel is not entirely sure whether she is joking or not as she asks her question from the back of the group.
If given the go ahead, she will begin to target the above items (or perhaps not items) with multiple Eldritch Blasts.
Continuing to cast and concentrate on Guidance for Lana.
