Probably. I'll put my rules in the first post. My other thing though is that I don't want shut down creativity - if I said only Alaskan humans I might never have got a fun otter submission
Okay, I saw. There's a few things in the original post you need to read rq (things I didn't edit in). The key one is to bear in mind that you guys will just be playing regular people until you get given your powers.
The mystical and magical are something your characters likely have no contact with up till the adventure.
Edit: discovering powers suddenly in session one could 100% work, but his dad probably didn't meet a moon goddess - it might have happened much further back in the bloodline though.

Ok, yeah that works!
(originally, I had Crunch be the one that met the moon goddes. originally. And honestly, I’m considering changing and entering a different character that makes a bit more sense for this one.)

Player name: Smoke
Character name: Ivan Von Benedikt
Race: Human
Class (and any subclass): Monk
Personality traits: mannerisms:he’s a real friendly guy, a touch shy at first, but pretty friendly. Quirks: Um, he loves humor and puns and will often make spur-of-the-moment jokes. Also, he’s got an interest in the age of Sail, weapons and really any history.he really doesn’t like the cold. ideals:He’s deeply religious, a member of LDS church. And very honest. flaws: He can be just a little touchy at times, and isn’t the most tactful-he’s accidentally offended people in the past several times. Bonds:None up here, but he’s got a family down in Arizona. He’s not married or anything.
Backstory (preferably a single paragraph): well, he was born and grew up on a farm in Utah, then lived in Texas for a couple years (till he was about 7) then moved back to Utah. When he was 13, his family bought a ranch in Arizona and he lived and worked there till 18, when he went in a 2-year mission. Since then, he’s been trying out some things and getting into martial arts a bit.
Concept explanation: Think a cowboy that likes to punch things.

Personality traits (mannerisms, quirks, ideals, flaws and bonds): Dr. Dan Dringle is not very smart, nor is he very wise. He is very defensive in his insistence that he is, in fact, a doctor, and he behaves as though he is very intelligent. This fake intelligence is constantly undermined anytime he opens his mouth to speak. He easily falls under the spell of anyone he feels could be a romantic partner, though he is extremely loyal to his friends (he’s in it to win it when it comes to making/keeping friends). Behind the façade of his doctory-ness, he just doesn’t want to be alone. He almost never gets a name right.
Backstory (preferably a single paragraph): The origin of Dan Dringle’s status as a doctor is an enigma. As a regionally known television host, Dringle uses his show, “Look at That!” to investigate the things that he wants to find out about. He uses the show to meet people and make friends, perhaps secretly hoping to meet that special someone. When he learned that Pete the Groundhog died, he wanted to check it out, but his producers refused to pay for his travel to Alaska (he’s based in Oregon). As the cruel winter storms raged on and on, Dr. Dan’s neighbor—Hippie Lowell, a conspiracy theorist and self-proclaimed “witch”—convinced him that he had to travel to Alaska on his own dime and solve this mystery. After transferring the title of his apartment and car to Hippie Lowell, Dringle heads to Alaska with dreams of making good friends.
Concept explanation: Dr. Dan Dringle is a simple character, who just wants to make friends. Sometimes he overexaggerates, sometimes he tells fibs, and he’s always a bit awkward and aloof. He’s not particularly brave, and his magic is usually reactive, conjured in response to his state of emotion or fear. Despite his lack of bravado, he'd never abandon his comrades.
Personality traits : Calm and collector with a steely eyed stare. A quick draw with the gun and ice water in his veins.
Backstory (preferably a single paragraph): A Former soldier who went into law enforcement after he left the military, Sheriff Sam went to Alaska to get away from family troubles, thinking it would be quiet and far away form his harridan ex wife. A hard man with a quick draw, he keeps the big iron on his hip most places, but off duty at the bar he may have it in the truck outside. He'll have a backup in his boot regardless.
Backstory: Sharri was always the curious type, insisting on inspecting everything they saw. One day, when Sharri was six, they were exploring the forest by their cottage, and they saw a faint, pulsing light coming from within a cave. Sharri could've sworn the cave wasn't there the day before, but there it was, looking as if it had been there for the past century. Sharri knew it was a bad idea to go into an unexplored place that was so obviously magic, but their curiosity got the better of them, and they went inside. Inside was a round stone opening, and in the middle, a strange, purple ellipse sat glowing, about an inch wide. The inside was swirling light and dark shades of purple, and Sharri was hypnotized by its beauty. They walked forward, almost in a daze, and touched it. Their talons sank through with a warm, fuzzy feeling. When they pulled them out, their talons were still intact, but still felt warm. Sharri studied them for a moment, and then looked back at the portal. They walked through, and found themselves in the middle of a blizzard, the portal disappeared behind them. With no other way to go, they walked forward, to where they saw a light in the distance. The light grew larger and larger, and soon a village came into view. a local saw Sharri shivering in the cold, and rushed over to help them. The local, who's name was John Peterson, took Sharri into his home and warmed them up. Sharri told John what had happened, and John had been their guardian ever since, training them in the ways of the rogue.
Concept Explanation: An aarakocra that used to live with their family, then found a portal in a forest that teleported them into Alaska.

Hey Zeus! That looks like a fun character, but unfortunately it doesn't fit the setting concept. Feel free to edit or change your submission before the deadline - characters need to be from the world the adventure is set in, as well as being (in terms of roleplay and aesthetic, not mechanics) humans. (Otter's idea is plainly non-human but it's still within the setting as otters exist in Alaska)
You'll gain your mechanical traits, such as your class, during the start of the adventure.
