Your as Quiet as a mouse as you creep into the garden. But with a nat 1 perception you don't see anything out of the ordinary. With your investigation. You see see the steps from maz in the dewy grass. Looks like he walked into the area stood there foe a moment them went back to bed.
In the morning the party wakes up to the smell of breakfast.
Grandmother Willow looks troubled but greets the group warmly.
Good morning I took the liberty of washing your gear and resupply you.
Your packs are all lined up in a row along with a bag of food and water.
I'm sure you will be eager to hit the road. Arena is only a couple of hours from here and then you can join a caravan the rest of the way to Norend if your lucky.
The party hits the road a short while later. Back tracking to the main path then down the old empire road to Arena. It's not long before the party exits the forest and is on an open plain. Off on the horizon is the last set of mountains to cross beyond it lies Norend and the promise of steady work and good coin from the Duke.
Continuing down the path you all climb a small hill and off in the distance you can see the town of Arena. It's original name long forgotten it is named after the large Amphitheater that is in the center of town.
Arena is a port town that receives most of the trade from the western sea. The town has three major roads that leave in and out of it. The north to Norend, East to the Dwarf lands and the central desert and South back to the capital (the road your on) much like the rest of the north Arena is made up of mostly humans and halflings, with the occasional Dwarf. The town has 3 main areas, the port, the arena, and the market.
Yhe market and most of the taverns and hotels can be found on the road leaving the port that goes to the arena. It's also a crossroad for caravans resuppling before traveling on to the larger cities.
Arena us best know for the annual games it puts on every year just before the spring planting season.
Sam you would know that the town is still rebuilding itself after the demon that nearly destroyed everything two years back.
By mid morning the party reaches the south gate and joins the traffic headed for market Street.
Crunchface while walking in the middle of the crowd you pull out your bag of rats. You reach in and pull 28 rats come flying out scattering. There I'd instant panic as people start screaming and running about. Some grab weapons to kill the Rats but most just flee.
2 guards run up tring to figure out what's going on.
Do yall do anything in the distraction.
Crunchface roll slight of hand with advantage to see if anyone saw you pull the stunt
Lol rolled a 6 for perception you got away with it.
Because the street was so packs. No one is quite sure where it came from.
A merchant starts yelling it was him. Pointing at one of his competitors. Half the guards rush over to the stall in question while the other half deal with the Rats
After slipping away from the chaos the party continues down the main path towards the center of town. Soon the party finds themselves in main square.. There is a great view of the arena from here as it looms over the city. From the main square. The port is to the west and the arena and temple is to the east. The main market can be found lining the road going either direction.
Knowing any caravans leaving north would have already departed for the day the party has free time till the evening where you can try and find passage in the taverns. Its mid day, the city is in full swing with all the shops open and people coming and going in various directions.
Marley suggest going to the temple first. Hearing no objections the party makes its way towards the arena. You past various stalls of food, wine and spices but the closer you get to the arena the shops turn more martial with, multiple blacksmiths, armors, weapons dealers and a few small magic shops.
The party arrives at the doors to the temple. It’s a large building (picture a large Gothic church). Walking inside there is an alter to each of the 5. What do you with to do?

Marley heads back to his room. He wonders what Maz was up to as he tosses and turns for a while, but eventually drifts off to sleep again.

Crunchface smiles as amiably as an orc can smile and looks over his gear. “Thank you.”
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
Maz nods his head. He enjoys breakfast quietly and prepares to hit the road.

What would you like to do?
I’m gonna check to see if there’s still rats in my bag of endless rats.
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
Lol roll
(How’s it work again?)
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
You reach pulling out 3d20 rats. If the bag takes damage or is turned inside out 500 rats appear and the bag is destroyed.
Ah that’s right. 28
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
(Is it our understanding that we need to go to Norend or other larger city to find the level of cleric we need?)
There is a temple to the 5 where you could have removed the fairy curse if you did not do the grandmother will quest.

"@$* !*@!" Marley rolls his eyes and curses under his breath as he sees the rats scatter. "Here we go again..."
(When/if we make it through the rat chaos without issue, Marley will suggest seeking out the temple)

Crunchface tucks the bag under his cloak furtively.

Maz quietly leans against a nearby wall and plays with the dagger while he waits for the group.
