The merchant rubbed his chin again, then it hit him! "Ah! Magic beans! Even though I'm still not interested, those are actually quite valuable on the market. Hmm... I think I need a minute."
He walked outside, retrieving the brass ring from the pile of baubles before forgetting, then returned to the keep, eyes still distant in thought.
"Well, gentlemen, we may have some hard choices to make. Both the beans and that armor are each worth more than everything else combined. Although I doubt any of us--or anyone else--would actually value the beans as much as the armor.
"Fortunately, Drex and I have no need of the items. So, how does this sound: Gordon and Faith can split the magic items however you two decide, while Drex and I just split the coin evenly between the two of us?"
Locke shrugged before continuing. "Of course, I'm always ready to hear alternatives."
OOC - How about you each roll a base 1d20 and the highest wins the magic armor and the other wins the other stuff to sell on the market to get some magical armor?

does not include +1 armor; you have to find it or trade with someone who did, you can't just buy it in town (unless he's changed things.)
Not to add extra pressure or anything.... ))
Thanks RodTheBard.......My thought was that the person who doesn't get the magical armor could sell the other items for gold and in their next adventure in a different campaign say LMoP or other perhaps buy it pre-adventure.

(( Yeah, I thought that too and went to see how much armor would cost, thinking it might make things easier if it turned out to be cheap. Didn't quite work out that way.
My last trip to the forest, our group found a +1 pike that no one wanted. I offered it to others in PMs, but no takers so far; I'm kinda thinking the Forest might need a thread just for item swaps & sales between folks. ))
((I assume 2 is going to lose and when it does I’m perfectly happy to take the beans and such. Not a problem. Really enjoyed the adventuring. Locke, specifically, found your style really engaging and learned a lot for PbP DMing in the future))
I also enjoyed the adventure. If you run another adventure, I'll be sure to join it.

If Faith could use some non-magical plate armor, Gordon could donate his, now that he has a magic set.

(Nah, not going to go for Medium Armor feat at four, so can only use light. Thank you for the beans. All the best in your future adventures, until we meet again.)
With the loot divided, Faith takes a moment to nod or shake the hands of each of the experienced adventurers, from who he has learned so much.
“Thank you for your aid. If you ever need an Aasimar at your back, you can call on me.”
So saying, once all the gear is secure, he heads into the light of the portal.
Locke nodded as his companion's departure; they all really had made a suitable team.
Dividing the coins between himself and Drex, he rolled his eyes at the odd number and flipped the extra coin to his fellow adventurer. "You're the senior here; I don't feel like digging in my coin pouch for silvers, so it makes sense you get the extra gold."
With that, he smiled and nodded to everyone. "Until next time!"he said, before stepping through the north door to the back room. There, on the floor was a circle of eldritch engravings, reminiscent of a teleportation circle, glowing a soft pink. The merchant stepped in, and disappeared in a flash of gold as he was teleported back to town.
Locke gave Drex 283 gold, keeping 282 for himself.
(( BTW, I plan to ask HomebrewMindFlayer if I could use a newer encounter chart I'm working on when I next admin; I've only done it twice and already pretty much exhausted most of the options! If you like, I'll let you know when I finish and am heading into another outing. ))
Drex takes 265 gp leaving 300 gp for Locke bows with respect to everyone, "What a grand adventure we had. You guys rock. Until we meet again."
Correct if the amount should be different.
OOC - Thanks a bunch for a great gaming experience. I've learned a bunch as a player and as a future DM. I'll make mistakes for sure, but with the intention of having fun.
OOC-If anyone wants to get together for something else let me know. I've got some other characters as well. As you all know I'll be starting up the LMoP and more campaign in a bit, but if any of you are running or playing in a different campaign and could use more let me know.
Gordon likewise steps into the glowing portal, and, just like everyone else, disappears.

Encounter 4: 150xp for thug and bandit x 2
Encounter 5: 200xp for orc x 2
Encounter 6: 850xp for twig blight x 4 and mummy, plus an extra 50xp I tossed in for the wall/door challenge
EXTRA: The group gets 1000xp as a whole (for tier 1)
200 + 450 + 150 + 150 + 200 + 850 + 1000 = 3000xp

3000xp total for the group.
Split 4 ways, it's 750xp each.
