I freeze and focus my full attention on the creature, I contemplate the creatures question before replying in my head.
OOC: not sure how you all feel about speaking telepathically but i have put my response in the spoiler slot and i will leave it up to Don and yourselves if you want to read it. I personally don't mind either way i just thought the option would be a cool feature if you want to act according to my movements or my voice.
"There you are, your very sneaky aren't you? Glasstaff is defeated. That man down there was from the village, his name was Thel, we found the rest of his family held captive by the redbrands, we have freed them and wish to return what is left of Thels body to the family, so that they might bury him and be at peace. After that we intend to search this place top to bottom for any clues that might help us find our dwarven friend.
I am curious about you though, we have two redbrands thugs held in the cells that i wish to see pay for there crimes, if we were to give them to you, still alive but tied up unable to defend themselves, as a gift, what would you do to them?

I intend to retrieve poor thels remains and search this area my cyclopean interloper. There is no succour for you here now, the othe denizens of this place are vanquished, you'll recieve no aid nor sustanence any more. Where are you from? I suggest it's in your interests to journey back to your home realm and bother this place no more. I cannotf guarantee your safety otherwise. But tell me as a sign of good relations, what do know about the former dwellers here and who are these remains scattered about?
"I cannot remember from whence I came, it seems as though I have been here forever. This place has energies that my kind find pleasing and comforting. I existed here on those who would wander in, or perhaps slipping outside for a morsel now and then when things are lean. The bones are nibblings from older days. Things decay slowly here and the necromantic energies prolong my life and sooth my bones. I have nowhere else I will to be and will not give up my home willingly beware!"
To Kryinor:
"The suffering makes the flesh taste all the sweeter...we shall be fast friends if you bring me the two fresh thugs...even the black robes was not so accommodating...mmmmmm..."
I understand the concept of home my focally challenged friend. But surely you can see that your time in this place is finite. There are major forces massing that will evict you here, if not pull this place down around you. I know your nature makes you do what you do, but self preservation must play its part here. tell me about glasstaff the wizard and these goblins and bugbears. I find them interesting and a worthy contest to test my skills against. You must know that we elves don't see the world like these always in a hurry humans. perhaps we can make an accommodation yes? you tell me what I want to know and perhaps I can provide you a bounty at Castle Cragmaw?
"Hmmm...What you say is sound. I have no wish to leave, but a greater wish to stay alive. Allow me to withdraw with my meager possessions in the night. As for the former dwellers here...The Wizard and I had an arrangement, food and prizes to guard this place and leave his men be. That is all I know. He has fled and our bargain is ended. If you leave this place and allow me time to take my leave I will trouble you no more. What say you?"
Alas my friends are not as tolerant as I. I suggest you go now. I will not vouch for their reactions to your still being here. I will retrieve thel and conduct a search of this place. do not interfere. i find you intriguing none the less.
You think that this creature is part from this plain and perhaps part from a plain of some kind of negative energy. The creepy cold at the bottom of the crevasse in your opinion would be a nourishing place for such as the cyclopean creature. There is a nagging memory at the back of your mind that you cannot recall. Something about wizards that dabble in forces out of their league.
"I can leave now if you all go from this room and let me exit unseen in peace..." replies the creature.

I shall retrieve thel and retire from this room. I have certain ideas bout you my singularly ocular friend but i will those to myself. i bid you adieu.
i then climb out of the crevasse after securing thel remains to rope in a sack then pulling his cadaver up after me once topside
"well my friends i have made a bargain with our faye acquaintance, if we move into another room he will leave this place."

I slowly stand before howling at the top of my lungs.
I race to whichever side of the bridge will give me the best view of the creature and back up against the far cavern wall before turning to face the creature. I pause for a moment, snarling and barking loudly in anger before racing toward the creature and catapulting myself into the creature my front paws reaching to drag it down with me, my teeth fully bared, when i make contact i will attempt to sink my teeth into the creature and hold onto it with grim resole until we fall.
When the creature states that he enjoys there suffering it brings back dark memories. My mind goes black. When i reach the far cavern wall the barking and snarling translates to "IF IT SUFFERING THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY THEN WE WILL SUFFER TOGETHER!

Kryinor catapults off the bridge into the creature at almost the same moment It and Titus strike a deal.
"FALSE, BETRAYER!"The creature screams in your minds.
Kryinor lands clumsily and heavily into the creature, though his fangs deep, he tears a huge chunk out of it. For the first time you hear it make a sound, a long pain filled roar, as unearthly as it is loud.
At the top of its voice aloud it screams "DIE!" at the druid in wolf form. Mortally wounded it seeks to bring Kryinor down before it dies.
Attack 1 Claw: 15 Damage: 6
A miss!
Attack 2 Claw: 12 Damage: 4
Its claw rakes your right shoulder!
At the same time it attacks with both of its scytheing claws it fixes its eye upon him. Kryinor feels a freezing cold emptiness fill his body;
Constitution save DC 12 to resist rotting gaze. Damage: 13
Kryinor's sudden unannounced attack leaves everyone else a bit surprised, you may all act next round.
Breccha leans back, scratching his chin and thinking about the best course of action; not something he tends to do for long. Turning back to Quelline, he nods and says "I would seek further information from this Dwarf or noble - or is he a dwarf noble? Can your boy please show me where this Townmasters Hall is?"
OOC: Kryinor and the creatures are in a head long tumble to the bottom of the crevasse. You break each others fall though so now extra damage outside of combat :P
Titus replies to the creatures protestations but all he gets back are incoherent thoughts of rage. The creature is given over to its anger and fight for survival.
Eedim Looks at the spectacle and recovers his senses, he lazily aims the crossbow at the creature and lets a bolt fly!
Attack: 15 Damage: 5
The bolt whizzes past wolf and cyclops.
OOC: Kargan let us know what you intend to do when you are able :) I will adjust as needed.
In the crevasse Kryinor and the creature tumble in a storm of teeth, fur, and claws to the broken stones below. The druid throws off the shriveling gaze, body conditioned to hardships worse than this.
Again the wolves teeth bite deep into the thing and it howls aloud.
In return claws scythe again and again.
Attack 1 Claw: 9 Damage: 9
A miss.
Attack 2 Claw: 17 Damage: 9
Another claw bites deep into thick fur and muscle!
Rotting Gaze: Damage: 12 Con Save DC 12 to resist!
Quelline smiles, "Of course friend, my son Carp will take you to the Townmasters Hal. No doubt he will be very happy to take this adventure with you."
Carp is practically bouncing on the spot ready to faint with the rush and excitement of helping a real adventurer like Breccha. "Oh boy, will I!"
The young halfling begins to tug at your arm and says, "Com'on mister, I can take you now, lets go now! Thanks Mum, thank you thank you thank you. two adventures in two days WOW!"
Smiling at her sons antics she says, "They are two different souls. One a dwarf, the other a nobleman, Human nobleman, I believe he is charged with our welfare by other lords in Waterdeep."
She goes to the cupboards and brings fourth a package and presses it into your hands, "When you see Reidoth next could you give this tom him please. Tell him it comes with...'" she hesitates for a moment and then continues shyly, "...it comes with love."
Hold! You Rascal! You're both dead if you don't quit this stupidity!
"By Ilesere's mischief, You Fool Druid! Get a hold of yourself!"
Muttering to myself : "A'oi -o tuin lectures bui Greyinare Leafblow nia i stupiditui -o adan plural edain s'ean manifio'oi in hi hi'toi'loliere druid, im tur- onlui h'oiun hon elven odhron h'o i pixie i'd'ionare!"
All of those lectures by Greyinare Leafblow about the stupidity of man seems manifest in this hotheaded druid, I can only presume his elven parent was a pixie in fancydress!
