Progo's eyes widen at the realization of the shrine they were looking for and hoped it held and where the Orcs holdout was. "Progo thinks we have have goofed, perhaps we should revisit that shrine. Progo has a sinking feeling that Grumada might not convince the rest to join the cause. Instead it will more likely make them start moving what they found out of there before a human army shows up on their doorstep and wait for humans to remove dragon."
Tharanau is worried however. "These orcs were too strong for us. We cannot go in there and attack. Just now at the farm we had a harrowing fight. Is it about double the orcs that would wait for us at the shrine?"
He thinks about it. "We could wait for a hunting party and attack them in the cover of forest. When they send another scout group to investigate, we take them on. Might just take a couple of days to decimate them. Letting orcs destroy everything in the area is in the end also a threat to Phandalin. I think it is our duty to take them on, the earlier the better. But only with a well thought-out plan!!"
"I'm all ears but while some hunting parties go out, others could return and fall in our back. We don't really know how many orcs there are in total. There could be more inside that temple and even more out hunting. We know that these orcs lived in a fortress and it is an entire tribe. I'm not convinced that we can root them out all by ourselves, even if we try to conceive a trap." Tryn argues concerned. "I think we best return to Phandalin and see what we can do there to help."

"Progo thinks maybe we could make our case to the larger group of orcs if our meeting with Grumada paid any dividends. Perhaps we coukd simply talk to them. Problem is the orcs are surprising fast then in a fight. Progo not sure Progo could out run them if need be. Allies would be great against a dragon, Progo wants the treasures but allies would be more valuable in the fight to come."
Goraseth ponders "I mean we ar a group of great fighter but one need to know his limits. I am not in favour of going back to see those twenty orcs. Now, we have given our words to accompagn Big Al to Phandalin. Let's do that and once we are in Phandalin, we could escort the new mine overseer. It is fine to take our time also."
"Meanwhile why dont' we take a rest here and use the day to hunt for some food ?"
Reluctantly Tharanau agrees: "Ok then. Let's do what Seth says. However, a little more money in my pocket would be nice! How about we escort big Al to Phandalin, then warn the dwarves at the excavation site of the dragon. Then swing by Phandalin again and pick up the new overseer for the gold mine as well as the supplies for the logger camp all the way in the north. Then drop off the guy at the mines and the supplies at the logger camp and then, finally, on our way back south - swing by the shrine again and see what we can find out or how we like our chances."
“That sounds like a plan!” Tryn agrees with Tharanau, mostly because it defers another confrontation with these orcs to a later date. “We can help Al to find the horses. Together we can cover a larger area.”

You spent the afternoon after battle on ranch with Al. You also spend another day with him, helping him secure his belongings on cart, and find another horse. /feel free to tell or roleplay what other things you were doing for this time on farm if you wish/. Ultimately one of the two horses came back by itself. Al was happy with that outcome, he had a horse to pull his cart. Alfonse also said the he never really believed that the second horse would be back, since he always seem like he does not like it on the farm, so it is probably for the better that he left. You set out in the morning, and it takes you 2 and a half day to get you to Phandalin. You arrive midday. it was raining in the morning same as the day before, but now the sky is clearing and looks like it is going to be a sunny afternoon. /State in your post whether you like to dwell in phandalin for the rest of the day, or do you want to go straight to dwarven excavation after parting with Alfonse./ I assumed normal pace for the journey made (since with cow and a cart) but for dwarven excavation you can choose other pace (fast would get you there in 2 hours, normal in 3 and slow in 4) assume it is now 12:00 midday./

Once back in Phadalin, Goraseth tells his companions: "Well , some rest will be welcomed I think. I have few errands, I have to go see the shop to try to sell some weapons and armor and probably buy a few stuff. We could also get some info if there is a place we could rent or even buy to be our headquarters, what do you think ?"
"Can someone go get the reward for bringing bacl Big Al ?"
Tryn very much feels sorry for Al to leave his old life behind him under such circumstances. He helps him bury his farmhands and to prepare his belongings for the trip to Phandalin. He is able to repair a mundane item that was broken by the attack (with mending from the wizard hat and one of his portent rolls).
Back in town, first and foremost, right after wishing farewell to Al, Tryn pays his respect to Tymora at her shrine. He replies to Goraseth, “I don’t know about the headquarter, perhaps we can inquire about potential places from the town master. We’ve done a few jobs for them now and it does seem to be a lucrative business.”

Who will take requests for new work? Perhaps we can provide shelter and some income for our new friend and we get a volunteer to man the place while we are away."
« Well he said he was once a good warrior and was in possession of the chain mail ! He might be happy to be linked to our adventurer’s group. We could be « the Big Al Legacy » ! « says Goraseth.
he continues « we should ask around about him , I wonder if he is an old legend or something like that. That would be amazing. »
“I’d rather be known as <Butterskull’s> than someone’s name’s legacy. Let’s see if the town master will pay us for his safe return, and if he knows about a place to rent or buy.” Says Tryn and sets out to see the town master.
He knocks the door and waits for the master to open, then says, “Good day sir! We returned Master Big Al from the Butterskull ranch. He’s arrived safe and sound here in Phandalin. We even rescued his cow from vile orc clutches and brought her along. Might be, that after he overcomes the shock, he’ll be willing to make his signature butter for the town of Phandalin! Delicious, I can tell you. Well, I’m here to collect our payment. And I wanted to ask if you know about an empty building, or farmstead in or very near Phandalin that we could rent or buy. We think there’s still much for us to do to help Phandalin and we could work better with place of our own to coordinate our efforts and stock supplies. I think if we base our operations here, it will go a great way towards a more secure Phandalin.”

Doors won't open for you, but you hear from behind closed doors:
"Well, thank you for that kind sir. You say he came to Phandalin? That is good, good for him and for us, at least until that dragon goes away. Of course you will get the reward. As for the properties, there are no vacancies, if you need a place to stay i recommend Stonehill Inn. You could of course claim some patch of land around Phandalin as many of fortune seekers do these days. But please do it via Miner's Exchange, they keep track of those kinds of things for me. Oh and if you got the time take a look at the quest board since some new requests came in. Wait just a minute i will fetch your reward for you"
Soon you get 100 total of gold coins, each one passed under the closed doors one by one by the Townmaster in total silence.
for those who are willing to check the board:
Axeholm Quest. “Within a mountain fifteen miles south of Phandalin stands the ancient dwarven fortress of Axeholm, which has been sealed for years. If a dragon attack is imminent, the people of Phandalin might need to evacuate and take refuge in Axeholm. To that end, someone needs to open the fortress and make it safe for habitation. Once you accomplish these tasks, return to Townmaster Wester to collect a reward of 250 gp.”
Dragon Barrow Quest. “The dragon that besets us is not the first to threaten this region. Between here and Neverwinter lies the barrow mound of a warrior whose magical dragon-slaying sword helped fell a green dragon terrorizing the High Road a century ago. Rumor has it the dragon slayer sword is buried there too. Retrieve it, and let the sword be its own reward!”
Woodland Manse Quest. “The orcs have fallen under the sway of evil spellcasters in Neverwinter Wood, and have been sighted in growing numbers near Falcon’s Hunting Lodge. The spellcasters dwell in a ruined manse. Falcon needs someone to make a preemptive strike against it. Destroy the evil in the manse, then expect him to reward you.”

Then, after checking quickly the job board, he rejoins with his companions and hands out their shares, which are 20 gold coins per head.
