Based on his answer to me earlier - You get the starting gold in place of the starting equipment/gold... So you wouldn't be selling leather, just using the starting gold to buy what you need.

Homebrew Replication of Official Content Notice: I don't own much content on DDB so I am currently using the homebrew creator to replicate official content that I don't have access to on DDB. The current replicated items on Tendilius' character sheet are: Arms of Hadar under Vitus' Arms of Hadar, Silvery Barbs under Vitus' Silvery Barbs, and the Magic Initiate feat under Genesius' Magic Initiate (Sorcerer). I'm hoping that's okay because I'm strictly copying official content, not creating anything original. But if you'd prefer I'd stick strictly to what's been coded by DDB please let me know and I'll see how I can adjust.
Is the intention here for the Nightshade family and their curse to be the very same mentioned in the hook of the adventure? 'Cause I like your gusto. But I can't make that work. You don't wanna be a member of the royal family that screws things up for everyone in this story, they're awful.
It's a nice character though. It can be made to work for this adventure.

Want: 1) to feel "normal" after the disfunction of his family. 2) to find something special about himself. Not is the sense of extraordinary abilities per se, but more in being more than the guy who *PUTS THE SWORD IN THE THING* and *LIFTS THE HEAVY STUFF*. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but he's more than just muscles and sword, isn't he?
Backstory: Tanin is the youngest of 3 boys born to a poor dockworker and his wife. Quiet and reserved as a child, he grew up idolizing his middle brother, Talon who was chosen to be a Holy Paladin at the age of 15. While his oldest brother, Tylon, only wanted to follow in their father's footsteps; Tanin was determined to become a Holy Paladin like Talon. He grew big and strong, bigger than either of this brothers or dad, but retained his quiet, reserved nature; which earned him the nickname "Mouse". He apprentice to the local blacksmith, Balderick, and spent every moment he could copying the local guards and knights maneuvers.
By the time he was 18 he realized several things: he was not meant to be smith, Talon was actually a raging narcissist, and his family's deference to him was driving him crazy. When a passing hedge knight was looking for a new squire, Tanin leapt at the change to start fresh.
Class: Fighter, looking at Rune Knight, Eldricth Knight or Battlemaster for subclass
