Taya tries to keep her nerves steady. The plan didn’t pan out as they had hoped and find themselves fighting against their numbers. With war machinery firing lethal shots and half of them on high ground that will be harder yet to assault. No, this didn’t go as planned. But should they retreat? Any future attempt will only be harder as they will not have surprise on their side again. With a quick glance, she notices two more mercenaries approach from the other side. Now we even fight on two fronts, no, three counting the battlements, or four, we don’t even know how it went for Cal and Haj. Taya tries to cast aside her doubts, there is no place for that on a battlefield, they must fight on. On a retreat they would just be picked apart by the ballistae. Taya reaches out with her sword pointing at the injured orc and it faint glow begins to be visible under her glove. With a short arcane incantation, she conjures a bonfire under the injured orc (AG26 - DEX Save DC 14 or 5 fire damage).
Then, summoning hidden energy (action surge), she breathes in deeply and prepares to dodge incoming attacks in her.
Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
In the midst of the fierce battle, Taya, with a quick gesture and incantation, attempted to conjure a flame directly beneath one of the orcs engaged with her. The orc, surprisingly agile, leaped out of the way just in time, evading the burst of flame that erupted from the ground. It snarled in frustration and anger, narrowly escaping the searing heat that singed the earth where it had just stood.
Seeing Taya's struggle, Bell shifted his focus to support his comrade. He quietly muttered a healing incantation, reaching out with his magic to mend some of the wounds Taya had sustained. A soft, warm light enveloped her for a moment, the divine energy knitting together cuts and bruises, easing her pain and fortifying her for the continued fight.
Meanwhile, the enemies manning the walls began to rally, sensing the need to push back against the party's assault. The goblin, with a cackling gleam in its eyes, took aim with its bow and released an arrow towards Galdric. The projectile flew with deadly precision, striking him squarely in the shoulder. The impact was brutal, the arrow embedding itself deep into his flesh, blood seeping out around the wound. Galdric grunted in pain, his arm momentarily going limp from the shock of the hit.
Beside the goblin, one of the mercenaries on the wall notched a bolt and fired at Galdric as well. The bolt whistled through the air, finding its mark in Galdric’s thigh. He cried out as the sharp tip penetrated his armor, the force of the impact nearly knocking him off his feet. The pain was intense, a burning sensation spreading from the wound as blood began to stain his clothing.
With a cold, calculating gaze fixed on Galdric, who was already reeling from the previous attacks, the figure took aim. The tension of the moment was palpable as the robed figure's finger tensed on the trigger, releasing the bolt with a quiet twang.
The bolt, however, did not find its intended target. Whether due to Galdric's instinctive movement, the chaos of the battlefield, or mere chance, the projectile whizzed past him, narrowly missing his body. It embedded itself into the ground or a nearby structure, its lethal intent unfulfilled.
Another mercenary, aiming at Bell, released a crossbow bolt. The bolt grazed Bell, slicing a shallow cut along his arm. The sting of the wound was sharp, a reminder of the ever-present danger they were in.
Taya now has 29 HP, Galdric has 13. See rolls in roll20 for details.

Calling for Cal and the bewildered merc to follow, Haj heads for the bridge (AY9). Before he crosses the bridge he draws his longbow and takes another shot at the goblin in the tower.
Cal continues rushing forward, and action dashes, running across the bridge and takes cover on the other side (AR14. He should be 30ft forward from where it shows him, from his move last round)
Once there, he quickens a mind sliver (Int save dc13) at AQ26.

With a swift, practiced motion, Haj drew his bow and loosed the arrow. It cut a clean arc through the air, a deadly missile aimed with deadly precision. The goblin, unaware of the impending danger, popped its head back up to take another shot. In that fatal moment, the arrow struck true, hitting the goblin squarely in the back of the head with a gruesome impact. The force of the shot pinned the goblin's head against a post in the tower, the arrow protruding grotesquely from the other side. Blood spattered and the goblin's body slumped, held upright only by the arrow that had sealed its fate.
As Haj assessed his successful shot, he noticed movement to the north of the castle. An orc and another goblin, perhaps alerted by the sounds of their comrade's demise, began sprinting southward around the castle walls, eager to join the fray. Their approach was frantic, a mix of anger and eagerness to engage in the battle.
Meanwhile, near the wall, Horros found himself confronted by a mercenary and an orc. Both enemies, emboldened by their numbers, launched a series of aggressive slashes at him. Horros, however, proved to be an elusive target. His movements were fluid, each dodge and weave a testament to his skill and experience in combat. The mercenary's sword and the orc's crude weapon cut through the air, missing Horros by mere inches, their frustration growing with each failed strike.

Drax's spell, laced with biting words, struck the orc with a psychological force, causing visible confusion and distress. The orc staggered, its resolve shaken by the sudden mental onslaught, disoriented and vulnerable.
Meanwhile, Galdric, realizing the desperate nature of their situation, knew a change in tactics was necessary. He placed his hand upon his wounded shoulder, invoking the power of 'Lay On Hands.' A warm, healing light enveloped him, sealing his wounds and restoring his vitality. Then, with a determined look, he sprinted westward towards the location of the cloaked figure. As he approached the wall, he called upon the 'Blessing of the Raven Queen.' Shadows gathered around him, swirling in a dramatic dance of dark energy. In an instant, he vanished, reappearing atop the wall in a burst of shadow, startlingly close to the robed figure.
Horros, seizing the opportunity presented by Drax's curse, lunged at the disoriented orc. His weapon struck true, a powerful blow that sent the orc reeling. Without missing a beat, Horros directed his spiritual weapon, a shimmering longsword, towards its target. The longsword, guided by divine will, cleaved through the air and plunged deep into the orc's body. The blade tore through flesh and bone with brutal efficiency, the orc's life ending in a gruesome display as its body was rent asunder.
Amidst the melee, the southern ballista crew took aim at Taya. With a heavy thud, the bolt was released, hurtling towards her. Taya, sensing the incoming danger, narrowly dodged, the bolt whistling past her, missing by mere inches. Simultaneously, the northeastern ballista targeted Haj, Cal, and the mercenary they had charmed. The heavy bolt arced gracefully through the air before striking the mercenary with a sickening impact. It impaled him squarely in the chest, lifting him off his feet and pinning him against the ground. The force was such that blood splattered in a wide arc, the mercenary's life extinguished in a violent and graphic end.

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
Taya lashed out at the Orc to her north with a heavy blow. Her sword cleaved through his defenses and left him howling in pain.
As Galdric reappeared on the wall next to the robed figure, the air around them crackled with tension. The figure turned to face him, a sardonic smirk twisting their lips. "Ah, good to see you again," they taunted with a chilling calm. "Let's see if I can finish you off this time." Their voice dripped with malice, the words hanging in the air like a dark promise.
Before Galdric could fully regain his bearings from the teleportation, two mercenaries on the walls charged him from behind. Alerted by the sound of rushing footsteps, Galdric managed to glimpse one of their swords from the corner of his eye. He twisted instinctively, barely avoiding the blade. However, the other mercenary, wielding a heavy mace, caught him off guard, smashing into his back. The impact was jarring, the force of the blow knocking the wind out of Galdric and sending a wave of pain coursing through his body.
Meanwhile, the robed figure, with a cruel elegance, brandished a scimitar in one hand and a dagger in the other. The figure moved with lethal precision, the scimitar slicing through the air in a series of swift, calculated strikes. Galdric, despite the pain and surprise, managed to parry two of these blows with his weapon. However, the figure’s dagger moved with a deceptive speed, almost as if it had a life of its own. It found a gap in Galdric's armor, piercing his side with a sharp, biting pain. Blood began to seep from the wound, staining his armor.
As the robed figure leaned in close, Galdric could smell their foul breath. "Seems you find yourself dying with my dagger in your side once again... You don't seem to be too bright. I'll make sure you don't make the same mistake thrice," the figure hissed, their voice a venomous whisper.
On the other side of the wall, the goblin, unable to get a clear shot at the unfolding melee, turned its attention to Horros below. With a malicious glee, it fired an arrow that arced down towards Horros. The arrow struck him in the thigh, penetrating his armor and lodging deep in his flesh. Horros grunted in pain, the injury a stark reminder of the goblin's deadly aim.
Galdric took 17 damage and has 9 HP, Horros took 8 damage and has 12 hp. It is Haj and Cal's turns.

Haj runs across the bridge and joins Cal (AQ15). The bridge gives some cover from the ballista on the NE corner, allowing him to concentrate on the fight at the SE corner. He nocks an arrow and lets it fly at the SE ballista crew, calling for Hail of thorns
Cal dashes as action and moves to the base of the wall (AG12). Oh his way he tries to Telekinetically Yank the Ballista dwarf-lookin dude towards him 5ft, maybe with luck right off the wall. (DC13 STR save.)

In a bold maneuver, Haj charged across the bridge to the east, his focus unwavering. As he reached a strategic position, he drew his bow and notched an arrow, imbuing it with the magic of 'Hail of Thorns.' With a fluid motion, he released the arrow towards the northeast ballista crew. The arrow flew true and, upon impact, exploded into a deadly shower of thorns.
The crew was caught completely off guard. The closest crew member took the brunt of the attack, the thorns impaling him with brutal force. His body was riddled grotesquely with sharp, wooden spikes, blood spurting from multiple puncture wounds. In a gruesome display, Cal, utilizing his telekinetic powers, yanked the impaled body off the wall. It plummeted lifelessly to the ground below, landing with a sickening thud. The other crew member screamed in agony, thorns piercing his flesh, creating a horrific tableau of pain and suffering.
Meanwhile, an orc to the south spotted Cal as he ran up to the eastern wall. With a guttural roar, the orc charged him, swinging its axe in a wide, crude arc. Cal, caught in his forward momentum, was too slow to fully evade the blow. The axe bit into his flesh, tearing through armor and skin with a violent ferocity. Blood welled from the deep wound, pain searing through Cal's body, but he remained on his feet, grimly determined to continue the fight.
To the south, near the wall, Horros found himself engaged with a mercenary and an orc. The mercenary swung wildly but missed, his attack thrown off by Horros's defensive maneuvers. However, the orc managed to land a heavy blow. The orc's weapon crashed into Horros, the impact leaving a deep, ragged wound. Horros staggered, pain flashing across his face, but he remained standing, his resolve unshaken even in the face of critical injury.
Out of the corner of his eye, Horros saw another goblin emerge around the wall to his west, bow at the ready.
Cal has 9 HP, Horros has 3 HP, it is now Drax, Galdric, and Horros' turn
Cal would, as a reaction, use Shield to try erect a brief telekinetic barrier around himself warding attacks, hopefully strong enough and quickly enough to prevent the axe from landing true.
