I'm trt8nf to remember what's with the ring. Is it the fwnie's 'lamp' or like its the warlocks lamp thing right? Is there any mechanical effect or something I'm supposed to know about here? If there us, let me know.

It’s my lamp Itching that you need to know per se. It does give me a few mechanical thing like +4 damage one per turn on a hit and I think I can have the party rest inside it with me.. my bringing it up is more like an unconscious tell …
<im assuming you all tooknthe offer of thise various spells cast. Up to you.>
So, where to now? If you tsje the river back to the central lake with the chuul, there is still the land route to the east, the river west and the river northwest. Or you could double back toward the entrance cavern if you feel so inclined.
"Well with the ability to breathe under water, that opens up some possibilities, including the ability to escape land creatures. This folding boat is handy as well. Still, I'm for land travel, but that's just my bias." The captain says, considering options.
((While on boat I try to figure out the other command words to switch the boat back (not saying them just trying to figure out options ))
Diabrix spends a lot of his time looking at the bait and seeing if it holds any secrets “I’ve hear there are command words that will change this boats size. Might be useful to know in case we need to go over land and then use it again”!
Sure, just roll a straight d20. Call it a luck roll. 10+ gets you one word, 16+ gets both. You already know 'shrimpkin'.
So. Which way?

You follow the river to a bridge decorated with reliefs of gargoyles which spans the west river flowing from the lake. The sound of roaring water echoes from downstream. A short distance beyond the bridge, the river becomes a waterfall, plummeting 300 feet into an Underdark lake.
<You can go ahead and intro that PC now. Im thinking at the top of the waterfall.>
Since you have the boat, there's no chance the river involuntarily throws you over the falls. So, what do you want to do? Also we git a new player. Sort it out and let me know what you decide.
With the boat we could explore around the bottom of the waterfall... in theory.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
As the boat comes closer to the edge of the waterfall, you see the spray is split by a large humanoid form. The closer you get, the more the creature comes into focus. A scaly blue-green face becomes visible, with strange blue fins protruding from the side. The arms seem to feature similar fins, and the feet are quite webbed. The eyes swirl like the sea and the skin is covered with shifting tattoos of the ocean. A large spectral tentacle protrudes from the water beside it. As the boat sails past the creature, you feel a deep sense of awe as the ghostly mirage of a massive sea monster appears around the dragonish creature for just a moment. You watch as the creature dives beneath the surface of the water, seemingly swimming towards the dropoff.
{Can I use the tentacle of the deeps to help the boat land safely at the bottom of the waterfall if it goes over?}
Sparhawk looks at those in the boat. “I think I’m seeing things” he appears almost to have seen a ghost. “A story of a friend lost long ago that I may share with you my friends.”
The group seems to be on some sort of self propelled boat. A huge hybrid between an orc and bugbear wearing battle scared plate mail, hails you from the boat.
”Hail friend,” he calls out in a loud but confident voice, the voice of one who is no stranger to leading. “I am called Captains Sparhawk, and we mean you and your beautiful waterfall no harm.” He smiles, “We are just passing through.”

What's up gang? Over the falls or not? You said you wanted to go down, if i heard correctly. You found down.
(Do we think the boat can actually go down the falls at a controlled speed?)
"Everyone grab onto something and hang on."
