"I can go invisible as long as I'm in dim light or darkness but unfortunately I have no way of removing the sounds around me. I would love to have that ability..." Tenebril says with a longing as if he's ran into issues in his past where it would have came in handy.
Tenebril flies as high as he can without going into the area with the mushrooms and sees if he can eye a way through them without having to attack or if he can spy anything farther in.
Perception check: 10.
He also activates the feature of the "Rod of the Pact Keeper" to recover one spell slot, just in case.
Tess runs through her full list of spells trying to see if any of them would work for what Gharzun was wanting. "Sorry but looks like the only thing I have anywhere close would be Magic Circle but I don't think these are elementals. If it worked on aberrations, I think we'd be golden."
She takes up a stance just behind Gharzun ready to heal or fight as needed.
Kos is happy the screaming mushrooms have stopped... however that came to be.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
They just do that, its a defense mechanism. This is a garden. Theu were probably cultivated as a natural alarm, wh9ch might he why a giant and his pet beetles showed up and pinned you in a trash cavern.
... continuing down the curbing corridor, you hear something moving ahead. Bones are scattered on the floor here. Something stirs in the huge palliasse lying on the floor. A massive furry creature seems to be moving about. You recognize it as a giant weasel.
The huge paladin smiles, “If any of you tell tales of the mighty Captain Sparhawk slaying a field of screaming mushrooms, I will have words with you or worse”
He laughs, his orcish features showing under his bugbear furry exterior.
Sparhawk seeing the weasel will pull out some rations (“here little guy”) he says to the giant weasel
Gharzun allows a faint huff of amusement at Sparhawk’s jest about the mushrooms, though his eyes never fully leave the path ahead. The scattered bones draw his attention first, then the shifting form within the massive bedding.
At Sparhawk’s words to the weasel, Gharzun shifts position a few steps to the side, creating a wider angle between himself and the paladin. His shield remains ready, though his hammer stays lowered for now.
“It’s a predator, Captain. It knows its size. Keep your tone calm, but don’t expect it to think like a hound.”
He watches the weasel’s movements closely, measuring the set of its body and the angle of its head. If it lunges, he’ll be ready to intercept—if not, he’ll hold his ground.
“If it’s willing to take the food, we back away slow and give it the space. Less blood spilled, the better.”
"Easy there big fella. We don't mean you any harm, just passing through" the huge strange looking bugbear/orc plate armored man says. He begins to move slowly, but not aggressively through the passage to see what the creatures reaction will be.
All of a sudden the weasel stands up and under the pelt is a human man who has a bag full of what appears to be gold as they quickly snatch your rations out of hand and start to run away

From down the hall, in the direcrion the man ran, you hear screaming. Clearly things havent gone well for him.

The cave is a cathedral of stone—its vaulted ceiling lost in shadow, the floor uneven and slick with condensation. Towering columns of fused stalactites and stalagmites rise like petrified trees, creating a maze of natural cover. The air is damp and heavy, echoing with the distant drip of mineral-rich water.
The human fighter, clad in dented plate and bearing a longsword slick with cave slime, advances cautiously. His torch sputters, casting erratic shadows across the stone forest. He’s hunting something—or being hunted.
Suddenly, four thick tendrils lash out from a nearby column. They move with deceptive speed, each one a sinewy rope of muscle and stone-like hide. One wraps around the fighter’s sword arm, another around his leg, yanking him off balance. The torch clatters to the ground, its flame guttering.
“What in the Nine Hells—” he grunts, struggling against the pull.
From the pillar’s side, a gaping maw opens—lined with jagged, stone-like teeth. The roper’s eye swivels toward its prey, unblinking and cold. It begins to reel the fighter in, dragging him across the gravelly floor with terrifying strength.

The screaming continues, unabated. The fingus grows on neat orderly rows. Only six scream, though many more grow.
(did they react at all to Sparhawk hitting one from 10ft away? If not Tenebril and Tess will start lighting into the fungus stacks from range)
No, but he does smash the ones he hit. Those aren't screaming anymore. The rest are. (I originally missed #2750)
“Burn the ones I smash so they don’t grow back”
Tenebril casts Create Bonfire on the space where the first one collapsed and Tess take a shot at the next closest one with Fire Bolt
Tenebril damage: 10 fire
Tess - Attack: 18 Damage: 30
Yup. We can speed through this. You kill all the mushrooms and i guess immolate them. That puts an end to the screaming. Ready to proceed?
Gharzun just watches everyone's back as they demolish the mushrooms. He is ready to move on when they are finished.
"At least now I can hear myself think."
