(OOC: To Grudakthemanslayer, No offense to you, but you have not posted since March 20th and your first post since is to ask for treasure out of character. We are in the middle of a battle. Please be an active participant and we can role-play the splitting of treasure after the battle is over.)
<ooc: It is in the middle of a pile of puke surrounded by a hungry reptile and a spiteful genie. At the moment, its not a given that the party will take it.>
Incidentally, i had planned on goving Baron that tentacle whip feo. The fight with the demon, bit forgot to mention he drops it on death, so I am noting that if he comes back, he has it. Thst said, this gane does cucme through players and if all of tjem get magic items, then leave, pretty soon there are many more magic items than players, so im not inclined to give the whop to aomeone else. Plus, there's plenty of other loot built into this pretty short adventure.
The behir disengages and euns up a wall, scamperimg alomg the ceiling as fast as his dozen legs can carry him.
(50ft total, which is more like 30ft lateral, but it does go around a bend, see the map.)
Relieved if its maul, (result of fear spell) the dao, Kashem, wears a cruel gein as she spies the silver battleaxe the behir barfed up. The genue grabs the axe and swings at the giant ape laying on tbe vomit stained floor. 30 for 12
Lucky for you I didn't use average damage that time.
Players are up.
< Correction. I was supposed to add 6 strength modifier to each of those attacks. Damage roles, therefore there should be another eighteen slashing damage dealts in that last round to the giant ape.>
<giant Ape transforms back into MarCailous after the second hit. MarCailous takes the last hit. ---note: not doing the keep temp HP from Polymorph thing. Informing so it's not assumed I am--->
OOC--I'll wait for others to take their turns because I'm really not sure what they're doing at this point. Is anyone even trying to finish breaking through the wall?
Do I need to be the one to do that too?
Are they waiting until everyone is free to break the wall?
Sorry but I'm just wondering what's going on with that as their were lots of hints and I'm trying to give time so no one gets hit while using turn to get through but nothing's happening. MarCailous would just know he was buying time and worry something went wrong.
I have zero interest in anything Grudak says. His entire contribution has been to comment about Yu-Gi-Oh, rant about being blood thirsty, or claim treasure, then nothing for days and less than nothing to actually help with anything. I'm convinced he's either 12yo or just trolling. Maybe that's offensive, but it's reality.
Anyway, that's my rant. If they spend another round not getting out, I'll hit the wall myself. If they get out, I'll heal or attack as needed. If Grudak tries to grab treasure I'll treat him as just another enemy because they're no reason for any of our characters to think he's an ally... He's literally just watched us fight and done nothing for days so treating him as hostile is the only thing that makes sense.
(Assuming Sparhawk has been able to help free those trapped) He moves to the breach in the wall and attacks it with the maul. (To hit 22, damage: 4d6+6= 15. Then he moves through the opening and attacks the Dao with his second attack, 17 to hit, 21 damage. (Sparhawk has a 10 foot reach, so with Maul, I think he is attacking from 15 feet out).
"Ah MarCailous, you are a brave one indeed, sorry to keep you waiting."
Then to the Dao,
"We have no quarrel with you, but we will fight if we must."
(I forgot polymorph was concentration. Lol. You'll notice the extra hit die above a normal battleaxe. Its situational, but id you get the weapon, its a property of it. Nonmagical.)
I try to cut people slack. Its a just a game, after all. I think G is just green, unsure of how to pbp and theyve been asking me in pm when thwy should jump in, ao i saod now would be perfect. Asling about the loot immediately is not preferable, but if theyre asking to do what the dao did without stwppomg on anyone's toes, rhen it actually makes sense. The thi gs are there to be used and he actually can get to it. As i positioned him on tje map, where bobody else but the giant ape can at the moment and his utility for a humanoid aized shield may he a bit less.
It would also be nice if when you take an action contingent on other players' rolls, if you could keep track of it, like i help x, as opposed to if x fails the save, i help x and then not checking if x failed the save.
"No quarrel? You just hit me eith my own weapon!" Kashem replies, "besides, I am bound to destroy all intruders in these halls. Even if I didnt want to squadh you like ants, there is naught to be done for it. Fortunately, thay is precisely what I want to in this moment."
(Movement is a bit abstract, im sure you have enough movemebt to het there.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
MarCailous moves back towards the broken wall.
Action: upcast cure wounds to Kos healing
32 HP
Familiar will use help action on Dao... Next attack against it gets advantage.
"Bedtime stories are filled with tales of creatures that haunt the night... These are those creatures! And we stand between them and innocents! Rally together now and prove your worth!"
"... Also... Would anyone like to be a Giant Ape? Temporarily, of course. I suspect it'll work better if I'm not in the form myself."
...... Grudak STILL hasn't actually done anything. Calling that out shouldn't be offensive. If it is.. Maybe I'm not a good fit for the group. Defending him not doing anything encourages it to continue.
I'll keep track of such things off I do that. I was more listing possibilities of what I could do. I'll try to keep it to a minimum though and beer more patient.
I'm not calling anyone out. I just dont think it's wrong for them to tale a piece of equipment on the ground and use it to fight a monster. But I do understand the friction. I also don't think it's wrong for players to keep eachother in line with the expectations of the group. I think if Grudak wants the shield he could ask in ooc if it's ok, or just take it and ask after the battle if anyone else wants it. I rolled it at random, so it's not meant for anyone in particular.
Noted.
Waiting on players, but will move on if no post soon. Retcon possible if necessary, nkt guaranteed
Kashem casts passwall on the north wall of the cave, creatung a hole large enough for a small creature. The genie passes right theough the wall (earthstride) and appears on the far side, before floating slightly to the east, out of view.
<mechanically any medium or smaller creature can go through the wall, but a large creature, like the draconic spirit or a giant ape, cannot. It csn fo around the wall to reach the other side, but it is farther. This would be following Lludd, the behir. The dao can, if it wants, pop into aight and cast a spell, likewise you could cast a spell through the hole if you wanted to. Lludd remains out of sight. Players are up.

”Indeed, you attacked my friends and I first. Do you have any exceptions to your vows?”
I meant it hits. It's just the sound it makes when a stone club hits a stone creature. "It lands" meant to imply a hit.
"I have taken no vow. The witch who conjured me from my home plane has bound me in servitude." Kashem states, coldly.
