Whether or not the words get translated, the green lady appears to understand at least some of the intent, and she visibly grows angrier.
She stands and takes an assertive step towards your group, extending her arm and hand towards you, still speaking in Sylvan, and oddly raising her voice. You all cannot help but notice as she does this that her body seems to pass through the gnarled roots of the tree, rather than try to step over them. Suddenly she seems less...solid...than you may have assumed at first. Her eyes blaze with green light and it seems clear that she is about to cast a spell.
Sylvan words:
Your life and your flesh may be sacred to you, but not to us. May the forest grasp you and consume you. Climber, come aid me!
Time to ROLL INITIATIVE
(my preference for running combat is that you post your move whenever you can, and I'll resolve it according to initiative. I'll try to resolve partial rounds in initiative order, according to how players post, as fast as I can)
Kesili's eyes widen as she sees the green lady's aggressive stance and the unsettling way she moves through the roots. Her hand instinctively reaches for her longbow, fingers brushing against the familiar grip. Yet, she hesitates, not wanting to escalate the situation by being the first to draw blood. With a calm yet firm voice, she addresses the green lady in Common, hoping her tone will convey peace, or if not, at least hoping her words will buy them some time to prepare for the inevitable battle. "We seek only to end the curse upon the prince and mean no harm to you or this man. Please, let us speak and find a way to resolve this without violence." Her heart races, but she stands her ground, ready to defend her friends if necessary.
Trix steps up next to Hyacinth, one hand outstretched, the other on her rapier. “Now listen here, how about we all just take a deep breath here and talk this through? We got no reason to want harm on ya, and no wantin’ ta get harmed either! I’m sure we can work somethin’ out that agrees with everyone.:
Persuasion ; 9
(OOC: The dice gods really didn’t want me settling this amicably, apparently)
Hyacinth sighs and draws their scimitar. "It's a shame it's come to this - I just wanted answers. But if the only way we are to get them is through pain, then so be it!"
Cordimis will open a small vile she keeps on her belt, dabbing it on her fingers, and then flick the liquid at each of her companions. Muttering an incantation at the same time, when the holy water touches her friends they'll receive Bless.
Hyacinth waggles her fingers at the Green Lady. “By crook, crow, and crone, I hex thee to the bone!” They shout, and their green hairs levitate on end like they were exposed to electricity. Dark tendrils snap forward, wrapping around their target.
Then the hunter snaps forward - to work. Hyacinth moves their feet as if in a dance, whirling toward the Green Lady and striking out with their scimitar.
(Bonus: Cast hex. Action: Attack with Scimitar. 15 to hit for 11 slashing and 4 necrotic damage. I will also mark her as my favored foe for 4 additional damage. Sure hope 15 hits!)

No bonus action Movement: one square forward and two to the right
Cordimis gets off a quick spell as the meeting with the green lady quickly devolves into aggression. Hyacinth, recognizing the threats and intents of the green lady, is also quick to act, the scimitar slicing right through the green lady's form. The blade passes easily, as if through air, leaving no wound or scar, but seems to tug slightly at the image, as if threatening to swirl a green fog cloud away. Then the black tendrils of the hex fill in the temporary gash, and the lady shrieks in anger -- and pain. (takes half damage from the scimitar as it doesn't seem to fully affect her, 5 slashing, 2 more from favored foe, and 4 from necrotic = 11)
Her essence suddenly becomes much more fluid, streaming away from Hyacinth, like water rushing down a waterfall, only in a lateral direction, away from the danger of the diminutive yet fierce heroine. (Reaction on Hyacinth's turn - misty step) She rematerializes further away, obscured among trees (partial cover, difficult terrain), and finishes casting her spell.
Grasses and earth tremble and erupt into activity all around the back 3 of you. (Hyacinth had moved forward, toward the green lady, out of the area of effect). Dirt sprays as vines and roots erupt from the ground, seeking to wrap themselves about you. (Entangle)
The other 3 of you, not Hyacinth, need to make strength saving throws or be restrained (speed 0, disadvantage on dex saves, your attacks are at disadvantage, attacks against you are at advantage)
To make matters worse, you hear a crashing noise in the woods nearby, a bit to the right of the green lady.
Turn order: Cordimis / Hyacinth / Green lady / --> Kesili <-- / Trix
Through all this, the old man continues in his peaceful repose at the foot of the tree.
[ and just a heads up, I may be very busy tomorrow, will try to keep up with the combat but certainly graphical updates will not be feasible until tomorrow night ]
Kesili had an arrow drawn and trained on the woman when nature erupted around her, entangling vines grappling her feet and legs. It seemed the underbrush wanted to swallow her whole! Fighting against it proved futile and she must decide if she wants to double up her efforts and free herself eventually or gamble that she can disrupt the witches concentration with a well placed arrow. Already prepared to shoot, she opted for the latter and let loose as soon as she spotted the woman where she teleported.
Bonus: Kensei's Shot - +1d4 bonus damage to ranged (rolled 3) Action: Longbow attack at green lady with disadvantage and bless (4), hit 16 for 15 piercing damage.
Kensei’s Shot. You can use a bonus action on your turn to make your ranged attacks with a kensei weapon more deadly. When you do so, any target you hit with a ranged attack using a kensei weapon takes an extra 1d4 damage of the weapon’s type. You retain this benefit until the end of the current turn.
( Oh no you’re right, I moved the wrong person. And it actually matters as it would spread people out even more. What I really need is to get tokens for the PC’s, I’ll do that soon )
Cordimis need not make the strength save either, my mistake, she fortuitously moved out of the area of effect, just barely.
Kesili’s focus pays off. Even with the green lady quickly moving into partial cover, the monk’s arrow flies true, threading the needle between various tree trunks to find its target. It passes straight through the lady, but giving her less-than-totally-corporeal form a tug as it does so, and she snarls in obvious displeasure. The arrow thunks into a tree somewhere behind her.
(7 damage as a physical attack didn’t seem to have full effectiveness on her).
Up next is Trix, but the crashing in the foliage is getting louder by the second.
