A holy rage boils inside Amelia. Among Elves, beasts that have tasted humanoid flesh are known as lost souls—creatures doomed to hunt only humans, severed from the natural cycle. And goblin beastmasters are notorious for feeding manflesh to their pets.
“Greenskin blasphemer! How dare you corrupt the wild with your vile arts!”
Amelia stands before the door. She *must* see the face of this foul animal tamer—and sever it with her blade.
As you rush inside, the door, eager to face whatever's inside. This chamber has been set up as a crude living space, with thick furs thrown on the floor to serve as carpets, old trophies hanging on the walls, a large bed to the north, and a brazier of coals burning brightly. A round table with several chairs stands to the south near the door. Inside you see a wolf accompanying a monster. You quickly identify it as a bugbear.
Here's the initiative order I got:
Garrick, Wolf, Amelia, Zan, Kessintra, Bugbear
Feel free to roll initiative for Chipper whenever

Garrick moves towards the bugbear, getting into melee, but then raises his hand crossbow and targets the wolf. (Crossbow expert removes disadv for ranged in melee).
Die you beast! He says as he attacks.
Attack: 11 to hit for 8 damage
bonus action to attack again: Nat 20 + 7 =27 to hit for 8 damage.
striker moves off Garrick in front of the bugbear and takes the dodge action.
With Garrick being towards the front with a 21, guessing Chipper is up now.
Chipper nods at the idea of using the goblins as food for the owlbear. "That could work." he says. As the battle commences he joins Garrick's prioritization against the wolf, sending a psychic sliver towards its head.

Question: what's the general location within the room? Considering that he might try to pick up a plate or bowl from the table possible to use for getting some coals from the fire. (Dextrous Feet bonus action to pick up the plate, Item Interaction to get coals onto it.) Or grabbing a chair from the table to use as makeshift 1/2 cover and or flipping the table.)

The wolf is sent reeling from one powerful attack from Garrick and the hit from Chipper's spell. They're clearly almost gone. In desperation, they attempt to attack Garrick. 20 to hit for 10. If it hits, make a strength save.
The room is a semicircle with the door about a fourth of the way up the diameter. The table is right by you and the brazier is in the middle of the curved wall. The bugbear and Wolf are on the other half of the semicircle.

I figured. I'm fine with it. I never thought of battle Smith that way, but it actually works really well. It should help with our party composition. I believe it's Amelia's turn.

Amelia steps into the room, following Garrick. The Elf cleric channels her fury into a burst of radiant energy, unleashing it in an explosive wave! Action Channel Divinity: Radiance of the DawnPHB, pg. 61 As an action, you can use Channel Divinity and present your holy symbol to dispel any magical darkness within 30 ft. Additionally, each hostile creature within 30 ft. (that doesn't have total cover) must make a CON saving throw (DC 14) or take 7 radiant damage (half damage on success). I assume that the bugbear and the wolf are within 30 ft radius.

[[ Thanks.
From that description, sounds like trying to get the coals this turn would end up putting him on the frontline, so would hold off on that. But still scour the table for a bowl/plate/anything that could makeshift hold some coals. Thinking that perhaps on the next turn could try using it to grab some coals to either throw in the bugbear's face, maybe with a chance of causing something like a 1-round blinded or some other debuff with the heat of the coals as a distraction? Not sure how you'd want to rule an improvised action with them. ]]
Zan rushes the bugbear, the glow from his sword blade casting dancing shadows as it slices through the air then the light quickly fades as the blade bits deep, attack roll nat 20+5=25 for 19 pts of damage. He pulls the blade back, raises his shield just in case the creature has any fight left in him.

We can always feed the goblins and the animal to the owlbear afterwards.

Garrick uses his reaction to cast shield raising his AC from 18 to 23 for the round. Used his 2nd of 3 spell slots; 1 remaining.
OOC - sorry if my guy is annoying as a DM, his own thing is to absorb attacks and then nullify them 🫤

I'll probably run the coals as CON save and on a fail you get blinded for a turn.

The wolf is knocked on to the floor, dead. The bugbear is sent reeling for a moment, but they recompose themself. Zan is up next.
