The court of our merciful Tyrant is open once more.
Gladiators, slaves, and heroes from abroad may partake in the glorious combat for the Faceless Tyrant.
For our merciful Tyrant shall reward the victors with riches and wealth beyond their measure.
For they give the victors their due rewards for their toils, their accolades, and ultimately, for entertaining the Tyrant and the people
And if wealth and riches are not what you seek, then seek the power that our Tyrant wields. To grant one's wishes and desires, be it knowledge of planes beyond or to kill a deity.
Come one, come all, come to fight for the Tyrant's entertainment.

I always enjoy a little skirmish and may be down to this. I can't commit to another RP campaign but some battles should fit in my schedule still.
Are you going for 2014 or 2024 rules and in case of the latter, will extended rules be allowed? Is third party content allowed?
There are a few builds that can easily one-shoot others, especially at first level and in an obstacle free arena. How do you plan to conduct combat? Will there be challenging (random?) environments that can be used creatively or will it just boil down to who has the bigger gun/sword? Is PvP opt-in or obligatory? is it group PvP or one-vs-one?

Best, Cy
It shall be 2024 rules with the extended rules allowed. If by third party rules, you mean class like partnered content like Illrigger and Humblewood, then yes it is allowed.
Combat will proceed with arenas being randomized and other goals in combat. For example, the first round shall be held in this arena.
Combatants shall be shown what the arena is but goals will only be told once in combat. Ultimately, the option to kill the opponents is always there but there may be ways to win without bloodshed. PvP is an opt in as monster fights shall be available as well, but only rewarding half XP from their kills. Most rounds by the DM shall be group, with 1v1's reserved for challenges and promotion matches. 1v1's follow a different set of rules for challenges and will not share them yet. But for promotion matches, it is to simply ascend to the next tier of gladiators. This may involve fighting another gladiator or a monster. Arena for the promotion match shall vary as well, for example, both gladiators are teleported into the arena without their gear or weapons but weapons and focuses are thrown into the arena every round or the first to catch the flying dagger with a golden pommel.
Very well, here's my submission for this. Khazela is ready to fight whatever the Tyrant sees fit as a challenge for her, with or without other gladiators.
Backstory: Khazela was born in the shadowed warrens beneath the Queen’s Wood, where whispers of the Tribute Court reached even the deepest tunnels. As a Spiritfarer, she was meant to guide lost souls, but her restless nature led her to master the blade, blending the discipline of the Kensei with the ruthless cunning of the Gloom Stalker. She carved a path through darkness, her twin scimitars striking like flashes of ghostly light, earning her the name Pale Fang among those who feared her silent approach. Yet, for all her skill, Khazela was still bound by fate—until the Faceless Tyrant’s call reached her ears. If the Tyrant truly had the power to grant any desire, then perhaps even a Spiritfarer could unshackle herself from destiny. Whether she fights for the thrill, for freedom, or for a wish she has yet to name, one thing is certain: when Khazela steps into the arena, the shadows will move with her, and the crowd will hold its breath.
I think they meant one weapon and one armor and one focus, not either/or. I think you can still take a weapon and armor piece (my character can't wear armor but currently does have one weapon and a focus, too).

Name- Connor Ravenblood (Arena name: The Virtuoso of Musical Demises)
Race- Human
Class- Bard
Background - Criminal
Backstory - Connor had a relatively average upbringing and his family assumed that he would take over the family business (running an inn) but he didn't want that at all. The day of his 18th birthday he snuck out from his room at midnight and set fire to the inn, his parents and younger brother survived the blaze but two partons weren't so lucky. He panicked when he found out that his attempt to break free from his family had taken two innocent lives in the process that he went into hiding. By the age of 26, Connor had joined a traveling group of preformers under the name of Nikolas. During his time with the troupe he honed his musical talents and as he improved he decided to strike it out on his own. During his time as a solo act he would perform in small towns and villages and every so often when the mood struck him, he'd pick one member of the crowd to follow home and steal from. Upon hearing the dark melody of the Faceless Tyrant's call, Connor decided to answer the call even though he was a little hesitant at first.

Correct, even if unable to equip at the time, characters will still be able to bring chosen equipment. For example, Plate armor can be chosen and taken.

For transparency's sake, I want to mention that I recreated the 'Book of Ebon Tides' species Spiritfarer Erina with homebrew so that it grants the 2024 versions of spells instead of the 2014 versions that grant the original. All other features are exactly the same. Once we share a campaign, you will be able to inspect it, if you wish.

At the center of the pits near the mess hall and shop wall, the domed ceiling begins to hum with magical energy as an image appears on the stone. The image then appears to move, showing a creature flying above the domed arena. The odd creature floats about, shaped like a mushroom cap with tentacles beneath it. It's pinkish skin has flicks of purple about it as it hold onto a number of books. It fixes it monocle despite the eye stalk adjusting itself to see through it.
'Attention all!' A voice speaks directly to your minds, 'Our lord Tyrant has decreed the first match of the season! To whet our people's appetites, we shall begin the season with a classic. A match held in the ruins of a conquered nation. Willing gladiators shall be competing against the arena's monsters scattered about the decaying remains of another civilization! And in the Tyrant's mercy, they even had left a gift for whomever finds it in these fading remnants. Let both citizens and gladiators both behold the arena which the match shall take place!'
'Gladiators wishing to participate, please see to the arena staff at the center of the pits.' And with that last message the image upon the ceiling fades. Then falling from the ceiling, is a medium sized creature with a rope tied around its neck, a parchment hanging from it. It picks itself up and stand at the center, giving an unnerving smile with its lipless face.
