The gnome releases his focus on the familiar and realizes the crew is shimmying up into the tunnel. Instead of taking the offered hand, the mage replies, "I don't think the lot of us crawling up into the shaft is profitable. If you want to persist with climbing a chimney with spikes, I think you will find yourself poking your heads up through a trap."
He looks down at the dead man thoughtfully. "I will be down here working these levers to see if I can find an alternate route. Let me sync us before you become a chimney sweep."
The mage begins to chant a long-form invocation whether the crew acknowledges his words or not.
OOC: Ritually cast Rary's Telepathic Bond to link the group's minds. The spell casting range is 30ft, so it should reach even the ones already in the initial tunnel.
Once he has finished that and those who wish to crawl into the chute do so, he is going to cast mage hand to continue pulling the knobs while standing away from the seam on the floor.
Galdr.... Wreckzors will look him in the eyes from the tunnel above. If you would like to continue investigating the switches, by all means continue... but please join us up here in case the floor opens up to somewhere you don't want to be...."
Wreckzors will then turn to continue down the tunnel before looking back over his shoulder.... We could use your help to see if there are any magic means to open this door from the inside before I attempt destroy from below....
Galdr finishes the invocation. He leans on his staff and wrinkles his nose. “I think you will find yourself more than capable of handling that door. I can handle a pit should I find one.”
The tortle hears in his head. You are a clever tortle. I’m sure you will find a mundane solution to the problem.
The mage hand begins a series of machinations. (If one doesn’t work, he moves on: ¥=down)
Wreckzors will think back to Galdr "good luck, let us know what you find... we will be just up and around the corner" Wreckzors will then approach the vertical shaft and start firing arrows into the door to see if I can punch a hole into the door or destroy it.
Galdr - when you push the levers all down, the entire floor drops down into a 100 foot shaft, as you fall it closes above you back to its original position. You and the mummied corpse are dropping fast, I'll give you one chance to do something before you hit the bottom
Wreckzors - You fire a few arrows into the door and they stick into the wood. None of them go deeper then an inch or two.
ooc: Since we were using standard starting equipment I don't have any, Can I tie a rope to my war pick and try to swing it above me and get it stuck in the door or the wall? If it gets stuck in the door I want to try to pull the door open. If it gets stuck in the wall, I want to try to climb it up and see if I can get a hold of the door in any way to try to force it open.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After securing his rope to the handle of his war pick, Wreckzors will lean out of the side door into the shaft and start to spin and twirl the Pick from the rope while looking up the shaft at a point in the wall as close to the doors as possible.... " I sure hope this works!" Says Wreckzors as he lets the War Pick fly!
It sticks into the wall but a little lower than you'd hoped. Probably about 3 feet from the door. But the pick feels stuck enough to climb, as you give it a tug.
The whole shaft is 30 ft high, so even if they stood on you they wouldn't reach the top. But I'd say yes they could lower you gently onto the spikes.
OOC: would you allow us to do ranged attacks against the door in an attempt to destroy it?
The upper door? I guess. What are you going to hit it with? I can make stats for it.
OOC, I didn't know if we could see if Galdr can shoot some spells at it or If we can try some ranged weapons.
**Galdr has a few things he could do to bypass the door. I'll let him respond.

Crom briefly agrees with the gnome
“ok ok , let’s just try another way with those levers”
Galdr - if you want to give me a run of combinations I can let you know when one works.

Flynt is going to cast Dispel Magic on the door to see if it works. It's a third-level spell.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Flynt - The door isn't magical, its just high up. You guys have rope, does anyone have pitons or something?

You can absolutely try that.
The door looks like it swings up so you'd probably want to get it near the top, climb up and push the door open.
Give me ...... an Athletics check?

00C I will wait to hear what happens with Galdr before climbing the rope.
OOC: Does Galdr see the bottom's composition based on his Superior Darkvision of 120ft?
