Two more blows are enough to disintegrate the living stone and you start falling it to pieces even before hitting it the second time. The gargoyle is now cold dust that lays at your feet. The door where he came from is now open and lets you see a room that looks like the main hall but without the decorations. Peaking inside you notice there's one more door that goes roughly in the same direction you came from but a little souther.

The room is completely empty, except for the pedestal on which, presumably, the gargoyle was standing waiting for someone to come in. A bit of moss grows on the ceiling blending with the stone. As you slide in the shadows of the room keeping yourself close to the walls you get closer to the door. It's wooden, with a handle, completely identical to the other two you opened before.

Falmo will open the door, and then jump back and hide in the shadows: 25 or 25
He will then ready a rapier strike in case anything comes through the door.
I have to say that my favorite rogue feature now isn't assassinate/sneak attack, it's reliable talent. Combined with expertise, it's ridiculously good. Got a +15 Stealth bonus? Want to be even more invisible? You can never roll lower than a 25!!! I also just realized I've been doing two things wrong: I forgot about Lucky, and I forgot to give my first strike on the gargoyle sneak attack for the advantage.

It seems a waste for me to roll any skill checks dealing with perception or investigation since Falmo's guaranteed a high number.
Ubogri peers into the little room. "Nothing?" He looks around the room he's still standing in. "What do you make of this pedestal and the moss growing on the ceiling?"
Rouges are a little ridiculous. Just a little. I don't have proficiency in investigation, though.
Falmo will try gathering up the gargoyle dust and placing it on the pedestal. If that doesn't work (which it probably won't), he'll examine it: 13 or 17

Ubogri takes a closer look at both sides of the wood door, looking for anything of interest. He'll then take out the half a crow bar and begin banging on the surfaces of the small room — floor in several places, walls in several places, and ceiling — to look and listen for anything of interest.
The pedestal is circular, a few inches high with some geometrical motif all around it, there are still the outlines of the gargoyle's feet. You cover your hands in dust while trying to put it back on the pedestal but nothing happens.
Rogues are good at skillchecks (but bards are better) and at single target dps. Other than that most classes outshine them if I recall correctly. Still a really solid class choice tho.
Feel free to roll multiple times btw, it's a high level adventure and there are some high DC's (some of them are like 35).
Also, not everything I say or describe has real value, sometimes it's just for flavor. Keep that in mind.
In my opinion, rogues are almost insanely good. They have the best steady nova damage of any class, and don't rely much on limited use abilities. For instance, as long as Falmo has sneak attack, he'll be doing more damage to a single target then a lightning bolt or fireball. If you really want a skill monkey, go Bard/Rogue.

Nono wait, only one roll per character. What I meant was that if Ubogri wanted to roll he could do so. You make one roll and if you fail then your character is convinced that there's nothing in the room.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Awesome! A lot of DMs only allow one character to roll. Thanks for the help. I'm assuming my critical fail discovered nothing about the door or the smaller room. I just realized I forgot to double the modifier for the last investigation roll. It's still a critical fail, but the result would be 9, not 5.
Ubogri gives up in the smaller room and comes out. He looks closely at the pedestal and the moss growing on the ceiling.
Only the second attack hits, and Falmo will use Uncanny Dodge to reduce the damage to 3.
(Just realized that my second attack should have had advantage because of Assassinate. Here's a roll to see if it crits: 9)
Falmo will again strike viciously at the gargoyle:
Attack: 16 Damage: 12
Attack: 15 Damage: 12

This is the room: https://i.imgur.com/Qjig4YR.png (kinda. the red lines are doors)
Also I'm running the fights as written but this one at least felt really weak. Maybe I'll do something about the encounters to tweak them a bit.
I don't think that's strictly necessary :). Although, I thought most of the danger from this dungeon came from the traps, not the monsters.
Falmo will examine the new room: 9 or 17
He will also Hide: 22 or 25

Ubogri it is perfectly content letting Falmo take the lead.

At Falmo's maneuver (disappearing after opening the door), Ubogri readies his bow to attack.
The door opens revealing a small, 10x10 feet room. It's completely empty except for the enormous amount of dust on the floor.
Falmo will examine the room for traps and or secret doors (paying special attention to anything that may be hidden under the dust): 8 or 17

You notice nothing strange. Just a normal, empty room. The moss has been there for probably a long time.
