I scratch my head in amazement and wonder at my favorite rogues ability to find things and his puissant acrobatic ability.
I pull the ladder off my robe and cut it in half creating two 12 foot ladders. I will use one to climb in and one to climb out. I will help the last person through getting both ladders out of the pit.
I will use Lay on Hands to heal Falmo if he falls in =)

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
You have little information on the place you're going in. No one has returned from there yet, and it's said to be a maze full of traps and mighty protective spells. It is also said to be the lair of a demilich named Acererak but no one has yet confirmed this. You understand that because of traps your best course of action would be investigating as cautiously as possible without triggering anything. Even the smallest thing could be deadly.
Stop trying to kill yourselves. We can do it!

Lumiere will continue along with the others, keeping the room illuminated. If there was a pit beyond the first door, she'll check for any other potential pits behind the subsequent door.
You indeed find a pit after the second door as well. Poking it with your feet allows you to open it. You briefly look inside and it looks exactly like the others.
"This could be a re-occurrence for all subsequent doors." Lumiere suggests to the others. "Be careful of your footing." She'll also check immediately after the pit trap in case of a double bluff trap.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"'Two pits along the way will be found to lead to a fortuitous fall, so check the wall.'" Ubogri can be heard mumbling. He starts looking along the walls of the corridors.

Inspecting the corridor you find, right after the door... a third pit! Who would've guessed. As usual, it looks like the other two you've just gone past.
Yesterday a player in my RL campaign rolled two 1s with advantage lol

Falmo will investigate the pit, shaking his head at Jerigg's feeble attempt. Assuming someone Helps me: 27 or 17
If I don't get helped, it's a 22 anyways.
If Falmo can safely jump the pit, he will.
Acrobatics check if needed: 19 or 25

With the presumption that there is nothing interesting in the pit =)

All joking aside, our DM TOLD US this :
You have little information on the place you're going in. No one has returned from there yet, and it's said to be a maze full of traps and mighty protective spells. Yes, you check the pit and you find nothing inside. It's identical to all the others.
I cast Mage Hand and open the next door.

The door opens and it reveals another 20-feet corridor with yet another door at the end.
Lumiere will continue along with the others, keeping the room illuminated. If there was a pit beyond the first door, she'll check for any other potential pits behind the subsequent door.
Perception: 19

"This could be a re-occurrence for all subsequent doors." Lumiere suggests to the others. "Be careful of your footing." She'll also check immediately after the pit trap in case of a double bluff trap.
Falmo will again examine the pit for any secrets.

There is no double trap and after careful investigation you conclude that the pit is empty.
I throw 6 sp into the pit and if nothing happens I shout "Ha! this one is having treasure in it too! I am crack myself up."
Use the ladders again to traverse the pit safely.
Double check (I know it's a wasted roll but Jerigg would do it anyway) Investigation 7
Look behind us to see if we're not in some wierd mirror teleport groundhog day machinations.
Use Mage Hand to open the next door.

"'Two pits along the way will be found to lead to a fortuitous fall, so check the wall.'" Ubogri can be heard mumbling. He starts looking along the walls of the corridors.
Investigation: 15
Ubogri finds nothing along the walls. They're made of solid stone and hide no secrets.
Jerigg uses his magic hand to open the third door and behind it there is a long corridor that goes straight before starting to get too dark to see.
Falmo will check the pit behind the next door (assuming there is one there). Also assuming he has Help: 20 or 17
If he can reroll that 1: 18 +7 would be 23.
I managed to roll a 2 with advantage . . .
Well, there's no pit. Guess I'll examine the corridor.

Do you go into the pit or just examine from outside?
I'll go in the pit, as long as the floor looks relatively safe.
