Jerigg looks at the object and founds nothing unusual. The aura was (and is) still coming from it. It's half of a key, the key head. It's golden and in the shape of a dragon wrapping its tail around himself. Lumiere investigates the room but other than the remaining vats and the corridor there looks to be nothing of relevance.
I cast unseen servant and tell Mork to feel inside the center vat. If it's ok, I tell him to get in and search inside. I do same same with the last vat.
Do the whole of the vats radiate magic or only part of them?

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
Gregory touches the last vat, the one on the left and without a magic aura. He puts his hand into the water and nothing happens, then he searches inside but finds nothing. It looks like it was just dirty water.
Before messing with unusual substances, I use Lay on Hands to heal myself to full.
Take a healthy step back and cast create bonfire on the "water" vat. If there is no immediate result, try with the "poison" vat. "If it is being flammable trick trap watch out!"
If the water really is water, we could get in and search it. I don't know what to do about the poison though.

(We could try taking a long rest so you could prepare different spells. Don't paladins have spells to guard against poison?)
Actually, I believe Lumiere is immune to poison.
You are also correct, I should have thought of preparing purify food and drink. That has the potential to solve both problems. If both liquids become pure, we should be able to see through them. I'm a little worried about some kind of spike trap or creature or pit or something in the vats.
Lumiere looks at the two vats. "If one is acidic, and the other poisoned, perhaps the floating incorporeal hand of yours could retrieve the object within that vat. Perhaps attempt placing something like a stick within the other vat, and assuming it doesn't dissolve away I can check its contents."
I probed all of the vats with javelins. Only the blob vat reacted. Mork died in one vat, and Gregory did fine in the other. All of the vats are cloudy or dirty so we can't see what's in them. Since Mork just died and nothing happened to the javelin, I figured poison.

Sorry, i'm not sure how you're trying to put the bonfire. In the vat? Next to it?

In it to see if the liquids are explosive/flammable or alive.
OOC: I'm a bit lost on the layout of where we are.
You came from the north, there's a corridor going west. The room is filled with stuff but you found nothing except the tre vats on the south. The middle one has something greenish and the unseen servant died when touching it. The left one had the ooze inside and the key. The right one has purified water now.
"Another option for this central one is to tip its contents onto the floor and examine what happens." Lumiere advises the others. "If we only have half a key withing this vat, there is no doubt the other half is located somewhere treacherous."

Mork goes for the vase but as soon as he touches the liquid inside he disintegrates before your very own eyes.
The magic is coming from the middle and the right ones. You searched in the right one and found that the aura was coming from the key inside.
"Bah..." Try again with the last vat "Hmm Gregory, go in there.."

Nothing happens in either of the vats. The first one starts boiling for a bit but then the water manages to extinguish the fire.
I cast purify food and drink on both vats.

The vat on the left becomes suddenly clear, revealing pure water that contains nothing. The middle one remains exactly the same.
"That is being most helpful. Now what?" I stand there pondering.
