Shroud has recently completed his apprenticeship and is now a fully qualified scribe. Instead of taking up a position working for his former employer, or starting his own scribing business, Shroud has decided to take a break from scribing and do a little work as a thief, as an adventurer.
Persona:
Name: Kasper Atramento Race: Human Description: This is Shroud’s scribe persona. He is known by his former employer and by some of the clientele from his apprenticeship. He is also known a little among the less reputable, as a competent document forger. Personality Traits: I believe that anything worth doing is worth doing right. Personality Traits: The first thing I do in a new place is note the locations of everything valuable—or where such things could be hidden. Ideals: Honor. I don’t steal from others in the trade. Shroud has worked this persona enough to be somewhat known as a freelance courier. Personality Traits: I’m always looking to improve efficiency. Ideals: Respect. All people, rich or poor, deserve respect. (Good) Bonds: My freedom is my most precious possession. I’ll never let anyone take it from me. Flaws: There’s no room for caution in a life lived to the fullest.
Personality Traits: I’m always polite and respectful. Ideals: Greater Good. Our lot is to lay down our lives in defense of others. (Good) Bonds: Someone saved my life on the battlefield. To this day, I will never leave a friend behind. Flaws: I made a terrible mistake in battle that cost many lives, and I would do anything to keep that mistake secret.
Backstory:
Myth started out as a thief and a conman. Seeing an opportunity to make some money, Myth worked his deceptions on the solders and refugees during the war. With people coming and going and the battlefield’s ever-changing, it was easy for Myth to work without getting caught.
One particular con, had gone so successfully that Myth and a few of his associates had managed to acquire almost a small armoury of weapons and armour.
As they travelled away from the military camp with their carts, a large opposing force attacked the camp behind them. A feeling of guilt stuck in Myths thoughts as the camp, now without much of its needed equipment was over run, unable to fully defend itself.
Unable to outrun the force Myth and his associates were over run and beaten down or killed.
After the enemy had looted and moved on, lying in the open air, waiting to die from his wounds, Myth heard the sounds of movement coming from the burning military camp.
A lone survivor of the attack. The survivor, not knowing Myth was the one to blame for their lost equipment, tended to Myths wounds and nursed him back to health.
Under the weight of guilt and the kindness shown to him by this unnamed solider, Myth enlisted in the Brelish army, to try to make up for his past sins.
Not being overly strong, and the army being in need of more healers, Myth was trained as a combat medic. A new technique had recently been developed to train and impart arcane healing magic’s to those training as spell slingers.
Myth then went on to distinguish himself during the war, never leaving anyone behind, and working to save lives even in the most dire of circumstances. Now that the war is over, Myth has moved to Sharn to find work where he can. There is always work to be had helping adventurous types. Everyone appreciates a healer.
Persona:
Name: Morpheus Fable Race: Half-Elf Description: This is Myths primary identity. This was the persona used when enlisting in the army. Although it is know that Morpheus Fable is Myth the changeling by the higher ups, it was decided that his true identity would be kept secret, in case it was ever needed, during the war. Myth and Mopheus are one in the same in personality, the differences are only skin deep.
Would you allow an envoy warforged to have an air vehicle as an integrated tool? For example, a glider that sprouts out of the warforged back, or a big propeller that just kinda pops out of it I guess?
I have a cool and fun idea for a swashbuckling ship captain in trouble with the law, but it wouldn't work as well without that.
If you need convincing, just imagine a metal man flying away using a propeller that is attached to its head, while law enforcement fires at it. You can't keep a straight face. If you somehow do, you are either dead, or are incapable of emotion.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
I would allow a glider on the condition that only in Sharn can he maintain altitude (due to the enchantments that make certain modes of transportation possible). However, outside of Sharn your character would be too heavy to maintain altitude, but you could still control your descent.

Name: Mother Age: 5 Race: Warforged Juggernaut Class: Fighter Desired Background: Soldier(Custom, I want Insight instead of Athletics or Intimidation) Moral Compass: NG Backstory: Mother began life as a heavy infantry soldier in one of the most brutal units in the Cyran Army. The officer in charge was a brutal man and abused his warforged soldiers, and used them to abuse the lands he was raiding. After a several years of this, Mother was ordered to massacre a village, no survivors. A mother hurled her self into harms way to protect her children. Mother was confused by such utter selflessness and asked why the woman would do that when she could have gotten away. The explanation of a mother's love stuck with the warforged, who let the mother and children escape. Mother eventually led a revolt of the warforged against their leaders, and might have faced severe consequences had the Mourning not happened just then. Mother, desperate to find meaning in the world feels that the love that mother showed her children is the purest thing in the world, and she wishes to emulate that example. Not having the ability to reproduce, Mother seeks meaning in the world in other ways. Name: Zip Hinklefritz Age: 35 Race: Rock Gnome Class: Rogue Desired Background: Guild Artisan (Tinkers) Moral Compass: Neutral Selfish. Zip's main concern is his creations and his reputation. Backstory: With war comes opportunity. Zip apprenticed with a tinkerer's guild of Zilago but found their practices too mundane and stifling. When Zip witnessed a warforged soldier in battle, his mind exploded like a thunderstorm and he spent weeks devising weapons of war. Unfortunately, the only people that offer work for a freelance tinker of weapons are the same ones taking advantage of The Last War. Thieves, mercenaries, adventurerers, and soldiers came to Zip for a new weapon, gadget, or some other means to get ahead or less dead. Description of how they look: Standing 4'2", Zip is not an easy physique to pick out in a crowd. By himself, he is entirely unique. With an metal armband bearing several tubes and storage blocks, he appears to have a metal fist attached to his arm. That, along with a backpack full of gadgets and tools along with a head contraption with multiple eye glasses makes Zip very eye-catching if/when he decides to go outside.

Name: Emanuel Maxwell Age: 19 Race: Human (Variant) Class: Fighter Desired Background: Guild Artisan Moral Compass: Neutral Good, raised with the greater good in mind, he has seen how actions can lead to good; even if a few laws are broken along the way. When a spire is built, not every form is signed, and sometimes a pile of gold can remove an obstacle faster that a pile of documents. But its best to try the documents first. Backstory: A boy, raised among the spires of Sharn, has always been looking outward. He would climb the highest heights, dangle by rope off the side of the city, and view as far as his eyes could see; and when that wasn't enough he would peer into books. The library became his third home, after the construction site, and is where he learned of the lands, the world, and the wars. He never saw the war personally, but he has read enough stories to know what happened.
Description of how they look: Stretching backwards, Emanuel looks to the sky. His hazel eyes blink in the bright sun. Backstory:
Cap worked on an airship during the Last War. It was called The Hindenburg(you can see where this is going). One day, when he headed belowdeck, he noticed the dragonshard containing the fire elemental that powered the ship. Overcome by curiosity, he placed his hand on it, and felt it calling in his mind. He came down again many times, and eventually began to make a connection. Eventually he learned that he could actually pilot the ship like that, albeit not as well as the dragonmarked captain(this is possible, I looked it up). This came in handy when the pilot was killed during the war. When the war was over, he had no intention of parting with his ship, so he stole it flew away with it. That day, he began a life of crime. He posed as an ordinary airship captain, providing transport to wealthy people at a very low price. Of course, once on the ship they were at his mercy, and he could get all the money he pleased from them. Thus he continued this life, until one day.
Generally, he was able to fly away on his ship after a successful theft, just dropping people overboard using life rings. Whatever damage was sustained he quickly repaired(question: would I need carpenter's tools or tinker's tools to repair a damaged ship? Tinker's tools actually has rules on repairing objects). However, one day, he unwittingly gave passage to(and robbed) a powerful master of the arcane arts. Not wanting to end up killing everyone on board, she bided her time until Cap threw them off the ship and started sailing away. Then she fired a massive fireball at the ship. Fortunately, it was a glancing blow, so within the city limits of Sharn, it was still able to fly. But law enforcement was going to make him have a very bad day if he didn't leave immediately. He flew it until it was on its last legs, then crash landed it in a clearing somewhere. Somewhere being right on top of a large goblin settlement. He barely made it away with his life, but not his ship. Unfortunately, all his ill-gotten gold was on his ship at the time. He longs to one day return, eliminate the goblin camp, and reclaim his ship.
NPCs:
Rayna Shalar - high level human wizard - hates all warforged, especially Cap. Very power hungry, and would stoop very low just to get her hands on some new magic.
Hindenburg - fire elemental inside Cap's ship and(if gm allows) friends with Cap, since Cap treats it as an equal, not a slave.
Also, (In your campaign)can warforged wear armor? And if so, if I wore leather armor over a darkwood core, would it result in extra AC? The rules would say no, but if you have 2 layers of protective armor, common sense says you would benefit from both.
Suggestion for Cap's glider:
AC: 10 + Dex mod + proficiency with air vehicles.
HP: 1d4 per level?
Speed: Glide 30 or 40 ft. (flying, but cannot move upwards and fall 5 ft. per round)
Name: Jack Deacon Age: 28 Race: Changeling Class Rouge Background: Criminal/Spy Moral Compass: Lawful Neutral Backstory: Having used his talents in The Last War as a Spy, Jack was grateful for its end. It changed him in ways that he didn't like and forced him into roles that he despised. During the war he took on so many roles that he almost forgot who he really was by the end of it. After the war ended he decided to use his talents as a private investigator and get back into loving the roles he chose to play.

Backstory - Descovered as an infant by a cleric at the site of a demonic cult ritual he was taken in and taught in the way of the gods, after his adoptive father's passing Zadoris took up his father's mission to hunt and stop all that is evil and demonic.
Description - 6'1" red skin... Raven black hair and a muscular build, his horns are shaven down to stumps to reduce his demonic appearance (he's essentially a fantasy bellboy)

I'm going to say no to the suggestion for AC and Glider AC.
The mechanics for the glider are things we will discuss if picked. It won't have it's own HP or anything, however, for certain.

1st Character (could go in the mixed group or in the rogue group tbh)
Name: Copper
Age: 24
Race: Shifter (Fox based Swiftstride)
Class: Warlock (Hexblade)
Desired Background: Criminal (Bandit)
Moral Compass: Chaotic Good (in a self-righteous scoundrel kind of way)
Backstory: Copper grew up in the slums of Sharn, and always felt torn between the city and the wild. As an adolescent he followed the latter of those callings, running off to live in the countryside. The war provided an opportunity to scavenge for survival, and he found himself in a band of outlaws who would loot battlefields, sometimes while combat still raged, as well as preying on other looters if they felt they could best them. It was during one such raid on a rival bandit camp that Copper discovered a gorgeous axe, formed from a solid piece of crystal that was black and opaque in the hilt but became smoky and translucent at the edge. Copper felt an immediate bond with the weapon, deciding to name it Geistbrand on a whim. The magic that came with it also felt like a whim, Copper seeing nothing suspicious about the new abilities. Copper's comrades didn't feel the same though, and he took their constant questioning as jealousy, eventually deciding to leave his band and strike out on his own once again.
Description of how they look: About 5' 11", medium reddish-brown skin, long ears even for a shifter, a wild shock of fiery red hair tipped in white, dark leather armor
Name: Everrin Calyndor Age: 20 Race: half-elf Class: Wizard (gonna go for war mage) Desired Background: Artisan Moral Compass: Lawful Good Backstory: Everrin was the result of an affair between an elf woman of house Thuranni and a human man of house Cannith. Due to the risk of an aberrant dragonmark, he was hidden once he was born. [still writing] Description of how they look: TBD
(for either The Case of the Missing Schema or The Rogue's Gallery)
Both of these characters can easily have a falling out with their house that puts them on the street.
First and favored idea:
Name: Berlyn d’Medani
Age: 18
Race: half-elf (prefers Khorvaire), Mark of Detection
Class: Bard
Desired Background: House Agent—Medani
Moral Compass: chaotic good
Backstory:
Berlyn was born and raised in the Breland capital city of Wroat. Due to the close relationship between House Medani and the crown, she spent much of your youth at Brokenblade Castle, especially during more threatening periods of the last years of the war. The royal grandchildren and cousins were her playmates and she was known for her imaginative ideas and adventures, leading the others on grand quests to uncover mysteries of the keep and grounds.
Soon after The Mourning, her Dragonmarked appeared solidifying her position as an heir of House Medani. When she became of age, it was decided, much to her excitement, that instead of attending the Wroat campus, she would be sent to Morgrave University in Sharn to study research and investigative techniques as well as her grand passion, the violin.
Growing up rather privileged may make her a little oblivious to concerns of those born to less fortunate circumstances, but she has an open mind and is not haughty. She is eager to see a seedier side, have great life experiences, and excited to be on her own (though there are family connections in town). She wants to prove herself and solve a big case or, at least, uncover some important bit of information.
Description: Female with slight elven features. Black hair in a short bob, large dark violet eyes, full lips, and a rosy complexion. She dresses for function, but her clothes are fine and well-made. She tends to smirk as she finds it all quite amusing but she can also appear quite serious and earnest. She can often be found practicing the violin.
Alternate Character: (This character can easily be made as a Swashbuckler Rogue, which was the initial build)
Name: Ayce d’Lyrandar
Age: 29
Race: Half-Elf, Mark of Storm
Class: Monk (or Swashbuckler Rogue)
Desired Background: Modified Sailor (Land/Sea vehicles instead of Water)
Moral Compass: Chaotic Neutral (in the selfish way, looks of for herself first, but the needle definitely points more toward good) Backstory: Having been around ships all her young life, she knew sailing and navigation was in her future. But to fly...that would be the ultimate. Her dragonmark appeared right before the launch of the first airships so it was a no-brainer that she would join the crew and be trained as a pilot. During the war, she shuttled supplies to the front. She grew up with a bunch of siblings, mostly older so she is a bit scrappy and enjoys a good brawl. She is also a bit rebellious and has been known to "borrow" airships for her own adventures. Could easily take on getaway driver role.
Description: Though one might not think so at first glance, Ayce is considerably tough. The wiry and a little taller than average, she packs a mean punch. She has wavy, auburn hair usually pulled back in to a braid and freckles across her nose which gives her a youthful appearance. People tend to underestimate her until they see her under pressure.
Backstory: Once an honourable and just inquisitor, Dartanian has now turned to dark means to stop evil from destroying civilization, this includes the use of a curse blade once owned by his mentor.
Description: 6'3", average build, raven shoulder length hair, noble attire (including an inquistorial rosette on the collar), Dartanian also carrys an mastery crafted rapier of non human or elf origins (very suspicious).

Everyone wants to be Han Solo, no one wants to be Chewie lol :P
For years all I would play was a Rogue or a Bard; not until a few years ago did I break off the shackles of those classes. Now, I am super into playing Clerics. 5e really made the Cleric class fun to play and a force to be reckoned with at higher levels.
Next time I make a character IRL I want to make a Druid and play around with that a little bit. I think they are one of the most powerful classes in D&D. I'll be the Cleric in this party though, so hopefully, we aren't full of squishies. I can only heal so much at 1st level lol :P

Actually TheGmoat I was looking to send my roguehere Rinzo 'the deuce' Rimbaldiyour way for your Eberron campaign, thought I was going to have more time to submit but missed the deadline and found you had closed off submission so re-worked him to first level here. I tend to look at any info proved by the type and tone of the campaign a DM is offering up to try to tailor a character to fit the campaign that makes more sense or have a better fit. LaRue's offering sounded a bit as an Eberron noir mystery type thing I can see where Rogues, Bards would be a good fit and fun to play in such as opposed to say a Druid or Ranger... idk given Eberron can flavor almost any class to fit but I don't often get a chance to play a hard-boiled rogue inquisitive type so even with tons of other rogue applications worth a shot to try. I imagine many of the others look at it the same way.
I am currently working on a backup character to also submit here, a Mark of the Healing Halfling Life Cleric (should be posted later tonight or tomorrow) but I am very methodical and I do not post a character until I have it, further along, to give a DM a better feel for the character rather than just something too vague or general. If I miss a deadline or tons of competition with those with the same class or race so be it. ;)
I'm sorry you missed the deadline for my game. I wish everyone could play it, but then that would be madness...I'm not that good of a DM to run 20 characters lol. (If only!)
I think a rogue inquisitive would be great. I always see Inquisitors in Eberron as D&D's version of Sherlock Holmes. lol

A part of me is thinking the second group for this game will be The Rogue's Gallery with an all rogue party (or anyone who seems to have the 'I am thief' kinda backstory), and while it will still follow the adventure, I expect it might follow a completely different feeling than a variety party would.

Race: Half-Elf
Description: This is Myths primary identity.
Personality Traits: I’m always polite and respectful.
Ideals: Greater Good. Our lot is to lay down our lives in defense of others. (Good)
Bonds: Someone saved my life on the battlefield. To this day, I will never leave a friend behind.
Flaws: I made a terrible mistake in battle that cost many lives, and I would do anything to keep that mistake secret.

Name: Mother
Age: 5
Race: Warforged Juggernaut
Class: Fighter
Desired Background: Soldier(Custom, I want Insight instead of Athletics or Intimidation)
Moral Compass: NG
Backstory: Mother began life as a heavy infantry soldier in one of the most brutal units in the Cyran Army.

Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain
Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards.
DM - The Old Keep
Name: Zip Hinklefritz
Age: 35
Race: Rock Gnome
Class: Rogue
Desired Background: Guild Artisan (Tinkers)
Moral Compass: Neutral Selfish.
Characters:
Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser
Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale
Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
Name: Emanuel Maxwell
Age: 19
Race: Human (Variant)
Class: Fighter
Desired Background: Guild Artisan
Moral Compass: Neutral Good, raised with the greater good in mind, he has seen how actions can lead to good; even if a few laws are broken along the way.
His gray light jacket and black hair flows in the wind as it pours through the spires of Sharn. He stands, hammer in hand, as he wipes sweat from his brow. Rubbing his hand on the leather apron, he bends down and begins hammering again.
Alright. Slowed descent is all I need. Here goes!
Name: Cap
Age: 14
Race: Envoy Warforged
Class: Rogue
Background: custom pirate(acrobatics, perception, navigator's tools, vehicles(air), normal sailor/pirate gear, bad reputation)
Alignment: Chaotic neutral, leaning toward more good than evil.
Looks:
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
(flying, but cannot move upwards and fall 5 ft. per round)
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Name: Jack Deacon
Age: 28
Race: Changeling
Class Rouge
Background: Criminal/Spy
Moral Compass: Lawful Neutral
Backstory: Having used his talents in The Last War as a Spy, Jack was grateful for its end. It changed him in ways that he didn't like and forced him into roles that he despised. During the war he took on so many roles that he almost forgot who he really was by the end of it. After the war ended he decided to use his talents as a private investigator and get back into loving the roles he chose to play.
“Spirit. In every language in all the Realms, surface and Underdark, in every time and every place, the word has a ring of strength and determination. It is the hero's strength, the mother's resilience and the poor man's armor. It cannot be broken and it cannot be taken away.”
Name - Zadoris
Age - 43
Race - Tiefling
Class - Paladin
Desired Background - Noble
Moral Compass - Lawful Neutral
Backstory - Descovered as an infant by a cleric at the site of a demonic cult ritual he was taken in and taught in the way of the gods, after his adoptive father's passing Zadoris took up his father's mission to hunt and stop all that is evil and demonic.
Description - 6'1" red skin... Raven black hair and a muscular build, his horns are shaven down to stumps to reduce his demonic appearance (he's essentially a fantasy bellboy)
Throwing out there --- Lots of rogues have applied. Nothing against rogues! Highly recommend for second character entries and most people past this point: go with other classes to increase chances of being picked.
I am also considering starting a second group. It heavily depends on the quality of the rest of the applicants.

I'm going to say no to the suggestion for AC and Glider AC.
The mechanics for the glider are things we will discuss if picked. It won't have it's own HP or anything, however, for certain.
Sorry I missed this!

2nd Character
Name: Everrin Calyndor
Age: 20
Race: half-elf
Class: Wizard (gonna go for war mage)
Desired Background: Artisan
Moral Compass: Lawful Good
Backstory: Everrin was the result of an affair between an elf woman of house Thuranni and a human man of house Cannith. Due to the risk of an aberrant dragonmark, he was hidden once he was born. [still writing]
Description of how they look: TBD
Will flesh out more for him later
Chronicles of Arden: Sheercleft - Vark Galestone | Half-Orc | Storm Sorcerer
Chronicles of Arden: Hunters - Caio Cypherien | Shadar-Kai | Inquisitor Ranger

Moral Compass: Chaotic Neutral (in the selfish way, looks of for herself first, but the needle definitely points more toward good)
Backstory: Having been around ships all her young life, she knew sailing and navigation was in her future.

Name: Dartanian Marsiar
Age: 32
Race: Human (mark of finding)
Class: Blood Hunter
Background: Inquisitor
Moral Compass: Chaotic Neutral

I would build a rogue character as my second character if that was the case. I love rogue groups; they are fun and I love seeing the variant types of rogues that people play.
