Mari, Cratol, and Morgaine gang up on the nearest slaves, two of which managed to survive the double fall. They had looked rather tough, and were decently armed, but were badly injured and quickly brought down in a flurry of strikes.
Poljen makes a beeline for where the mindflayers floated in the air, striking down a slave that had stood in his way.
Perry focuses on the gate leading to the rest of the city, using illusions to distract and hypnotize the slaves laboring over there. They almost have the door's heavy bar up when a large number of them lose focus and start staring at the pattern. The bar drops down with a thud, and those not enraptured try to lift it again, much more slowly without the help of the full group.
Lawrence bathes the area around the mindflayers in a sickly light, and Velon with bright flames, even as Lia hits one with an arrow, badly wounding it. They respond by dropping back down to the floor to get out of the radiance.
Two of them strike out at the group, with both Velon and Poljen briefly feeling pressure on their minds that suddenly dissipates, blocked by the protective nature of their amulets. Taken aback by their failure, the third mindflayer lets loose a ripple of psionic energy, tearing through several of the blaze, and killing the remaining slaves in between them and Poljen.
Meanwhile, Zz'Pzora makes for the gate leading to the fort's courtyard. Taking to the air she swiftly wings her way past the elder brain and its barrier to come to a sliding halt, deliberately using her body to crash into the slaves trying to open that door.
There was a misunderstanding between me and Sandbagger concerning Poljen's target. He cannot reach the group he intended. There was however another group that is in range, so making an assumption and redirecting. He had also originally spoken of charging after the mindflayers, so moving him in that direction.
concerning the sickening radiance, it can't affect the elder brain with that barrier up, and in order to hit the mindflayers where they were in the air, it needed to be centered well above the floor. So I have the radiance area colored in yellow, but none of the squares are actually affected at ground level. Said mindflayers have also exited the area, but it did cause some issues for them and did force them to land rather than keep floating out of a certain Barbarian's reach.

Lightning crashes as Lawrence casts his spell, striking one of the mindflayers as a storm batters against the elder brain's barrier. Some of the few remaining slaves come charging at Poljen, Mari, and Morgaine.
At both gates, there is a crashing sound as people start to try and batter them down. The few slaves remaining there are struggling to lift the bars, but the weight makes it nearly impossible with the few hands they have left.
One of the mindflayers lunges forward, hands and tentacles reaching for Poljen. The creature's facial tentacles wrap around the warrior's head, and he's drawn off balance by the slim but taller abomination.
The other one decides it has no desire to stay near the warriors with the deadly radiance dispelled, and begins to rise off the ground once more.
