Dolar, you move to the table closest to the bar, where there are three human and a half-elf. "All will become equal now" | "Cause we're going to shout it loud, even if our words seem meaningless. It's like we're carrying the weight of the world"
Dolar laughs. "No, friend! I'm with all of you now."
He'll show 1gp in his hand, pocket it, then put his elbow on the table. "Let's make a game out of it. If each and every single one of you beats me in an arm wrestling duel, you get one gold piece. Every time I beat one of you, I ask each of you a question, and the person I beat has to give me an honest answer. What say you all?"

They glance amongst each other again, and the half-elf sneers. "Beat it, muscle-head"
His friend, a woman in a long braid, and nasty scar down her chin elbows him and places her elbow on the table. She's not overtly buff, but there is definitely some muscle to her arms. She wiggles her fingers. "I'll take ya, big boy."
"All will become equal now" | "Cause we're going to shout it loud, even if our words seem meaningless. It's like we're carrying the weight of the world"
Sylelor stands near the barkeep and says - So Floon was bragging about money he had that night, was accompanied by Neverember's heir on a tavern like this --No offense -- and was followed by a group of people after he left? was Neverember heir the big shot he was sharing the table with or was there someone else with him? you see, it sounds like you've seen Floon more than once, he might even be a regular here and I've lived all my life in this city and have heard all the tales of people getting in the middle of something bigger than wathever they have or are...You might not ever see Floon again and well, I'm sure you know this better than me, but stupid people make good patrons -- No offense (says as she look to the people drinking at tables near her)-- if you are not willing to lose Floons money, maybe can you share with us a bit more information of the guys who followed him outside?
Siobhan nods and crosses her arm. "As I said Floon is involved in something but more then that is not something I can speak of. Can you tell me more of the people when was with? I know that one Volo claims to have seen him recently."
Ol' Xoblob Shop: The gnome studies the lute with interest, pulling a pair of spectacles covering painted eyes on his forehead over his actual eyes. " 'fraid I don't have any lute strings on me, but I could, uh, polish that up for yeah. Give it a nice, new royal varnish?"
Phineas watches the gnome closely, her eyes wide with awe and fascination, hanging on his every word before turning to Mallory with a wide grin, "oh my did you hear that Mallory the kind gentleman here is gonna polish my lute." she giggles turning back to gnome giving him sweet kiss on the top of his bald head, "yeah... a royal varnish sounds like just the thing I need to spruce up my act. Let's do that then shall we!"
He then ducks wholly under his counter, searching for something on the shelves beneath it. "Can't say I know what a Floon is, but they're right to recommend my shop. They think I know where to find them huh. Hmmm." He pop back up, rubbing his chin, the specs back to covering the eyes on his forehead. "Refresh my memory mayhaps, it is ever a long one. I do have eyes everywhere after all." He laughs as if this is the funniest thing he's said in tendays. In his hands is a vial of some sort of purple powder.
Phineas nods watching him begin his work as she sits cross-legged on the floor respectfully at his feet. When he laughs the jester joins him with own unique brand of laughter ending in a high pitched giggle finding herself rather amused by his easy manner and odd sense of humor, "eyes everywhere, good one, I like that!"She turns to Mallory, "come on then give us a hand, you know I wasn't paying that much attention," nodding as she listens to her rather well informed imaginary friend bring her up to speed which she relays to the gnome, "well it all started earlier this evening back The Yawning Portal where I was drowning my sorrows after a recent heart-wrenching breakup... he broke my little heart you know... then kicked me out on me bum he did with only the clothes on my back and a few coppers to my name. Who like does that really... now? Anyways at the tavern, Mallory and I met a grand wizard named Volothamp Geddarm offered us some easy coin but cheated Mallory out of half his share over some b.s. technicality. Wanted us to locate his pal Floon Blagmaar... you know like the song, Floon the Loon, great song, whoever wrote it is a pure genius no doubt. So Floon, a well dressed human dandy type maybe in his early thirties with strawberry locks but the carpet doesn't match the drapes if know what I mean," the jester gives the gnome a coy playful wink, "I am fairly certain that I have dallied with him a time or two but evidently he was not very good at it otherwise, I would remember better don't you think? But a girl like me is used to disappointment! Anywho, Volo said he last saw him at the Skrewed Dragon I vaguely remembered something about your shop in connection to him so here I am... since I kinda lost where I last put the Skrewed Dragon, funny that I could have sworn it was around here somewhere but Mallory's magical T.F.F. map is a bit confusing and it hurts my head which I why I could really use some pixie dust to clear out the fog a little, you sure you don't happen to have any? How's that then, dredge anything up on your end? Of course, Mallory and the T.F.F. have their own interest in Floon but isn't in a sharing mood... keeps telling me that it's on a need to know basis and I keep telling him that I need to know!"

Moving a bit closer to the table where Dolaris enthusiastically interrogating his new friends, Rogerwatches the faces of the woman and her companions during Dolar's question and the subsequent reply. Maybe they're not hiding anything, but people are usually hiding something. If they're lying, Roger's hoping to suss it out.
Skewered Dragon:The barkeep looks between Siobhanand Sylelor. She wants to make another quip about more junior trainees, but Siobhan already looks like she's willing to arrest everyone in this bar, and she's not about that. Sighing, she rolls her eyes upward, "I don't know much about them. They've been in here on occasion, but I don't know their names. They were dressed mostly in black. There were five, I think. They followed Floon out, and I haven't seen either Floon or them back. That's my official statement." She clips off the last sentence, with a flash of her fangs to get across that she's quite done with this conversation.
The half-elf at the table with Dolarand the others stares daggers at the woman who just lost. She works her jaw then shrugs, "Yeah. Floon's the dumb but pretty sort. Gets around, if ya know what I mean."She winks with a wide grin. "Now he was hanging with the Neverember boy when he left, and some, shall we say, folks followed him out. My guess, the two of them got a shakedown. Also my guess, Floon ain't who they were lookin' for."
"Darla, shut up!" The one human who had been silent up till now grabs her arm, but she shakes him off. "**** off, Jindle." She looks back at Dolar, "I'd say you're lookin' for snakes."Then she leans in close whispering, "I hear they have a place on Candle Lane."She then leans back ignoring the glares from her companions.
Roger, she doesn't look like she's lying. She actually seems to be fairly forthcoming, but you can tell that her friends do not appreciate that she's been so candid. The half-elf in particular looks pale, and they all seem somewhat frightened, except Darla who seems to be giving off an air of defiance.
Ol Xoblob Shop: The gnome considers this description as he sets the lute on his counter, pulling out a cloth and bottle. He dumps some of the liquid onto the cloth, and it stains it an even deeper purple. He begins to rub down the lute with it. "Hmmmmmmm. Hmmmmm. Hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Hmmm? You know. Ol' Xoblob remembers seeing something the other night. A dandy strawberry man and his strapping dandy friend jumped by somenotso dandy fellows in black. Terrible lot, one of them had one of those winged snake tattoos on their neck. Poor Floon, if only I had realized it was him, I might have been able to do something. Ahh well, might have owed them folksmoney. They don't like it when people owe them money."
As he polishes the lute, it leaves behind a purple sheen to it. "Skewered Dragon's just across the alley and some. Also a terrible place, I say. Full of all sorts of shady types. I don't think a nice young lady such as yourself should get mixed up in a lot like that. The sewers are better than that filth. As for your dust, I got this here dust foraged from the depths of Undermountain. 50 dragons should get ya. And another 3 for the lute."
"All will become equal now" | "Cause we're going to shout it loud, even if our words seem meaningless. It's like we're carrying the weight of the world"
Dolar tosses the gold piece at the woman. "I appreciate the information. I will relay all of what you said to my...uhh...superior?" he says, referring to Siobhan. He then gets up and walks away, repetitively mumbling the information he just received. "Neverember...followed...shakedown...snakes...Candle Lane...uhh...."
As Dolar passes Roger, he'll nod in acknowledgement. "ROGER! Please my friend, tell me you heard all of that. I'm unsure whether I can remember all of it! We must tell Siobhan and Phineas at once...wait, where is Phineas? No matter; we must tell Siobhan at once!"
When Dolar gets to Siobhan:
"Siobhan, we've heard the strangest news from that woman over there. I was nice enough to give her a gold piece even after a beat her in an arm wrestling match. But anyway -- the Floon man left this bar with a boy named Neverember, but they were followed by some snakes that live at a place called Candle Lane! I'm still unsure as to the details of how snakes could abduct a grown man and a boy, nor I am sure how this woman knows where these snakes reside, but we are on the right track. Where is Phineas, by the way?"
Siobhan nods as she steps away from the bar, making mental notes about what had heard in her head. She nods to Syelor as well, knowing that the younger half elf seemed to have a competition with her, even if the half drow was the only one taking part in it. As she moves to sip at the cheap ale she had bought she looks over to Dolar as he rushes over to her.
Once she listens to what he had learned she moves to sit down at a table. "Well I can only guess that these snakes are a gang of some kind. Regarding Phineas though I can no doubt assume that she either abandoned us or got lost once she wandered off on her own."
"You know. Ol' Xoblob remembers seeing something the other night. A dandy strawberry man and his strapping dandy friend jumped by some, not so dandy fellows in black. Terrible lot, one of them had one of those winged snake tattoos on their neck. Poor Floon, if only I had realized it was him, I might have been able to do something. Ahh well, might have owed them, folks, money. They don't like it when people owe them money."
Phineas turns to Mallory her tilting sideways just a tad, "winged snake tattoos... so that is what Daphne Wick was going on and about with her Z's and O's talk... don't ya think?"Turning back to the old gnome, "don't sweat it... I am sure Floon landed on his feet... the winged snake tattoos are a gang thing, right? That could explain the T.F.F.'s interest in all this at least,"the jester sticks her tongue out in Mallory's direction, "see mister smart-ass you are not nearly as clever as you think,"then turns to wink at Xobloband asks, "no doubt the winged snake boys have a clubhouse or a favorite hangout nearby... an alleyway, a tavern, or some other hole-in-the-wall so where do they hang their hats?"
As he polishes the lute, it leaves behind a purple sheen to it.
Phineas looks at the lute closely nodding, her face showing how very impressed she is with the results she coos, "you are a total boss... Xoblob... a true craftsman... an artist!"
"Skewered Dragon's just across the alley and some. Also a terrible place, I say. Full of all sorts of shady types. Phineas giggles, "across the street, must have moved it again, how do they expect to build a solid customer base if they keep moving it about and hiding it like that, duh!"The jester eyes the dust with interest "forged dust... never heard of it, definitely not pixie dust then, what does it do? I don't use pixie dust for spells or the like a total waste that, I prefer a more direct use of it you know as a mood enhancer, etc. Oh I wish I had 50 dragons or I'd sure give it a go... just to try it out you know but even on a good day 10 dragons is much too rich for my blood,"she giggles as she pulls out 6 dragons and drops them into Xoblob'spalm, "I know you asked for three but an artist such as yourself needs to be acknowledged if not rewarded. I would give you ten times that were I a dandified maiden or had a sugar lordling on the side but you know how it is. I usually don't bother with dragons you know, I tend to work things out in trade, tit for tat... if you know what I mean... I am no Elfmaid but I can give ya wicked Elvish kiss above that will curl your toes or if you prefer you can ring my bell. So maybe we can work something for that Undermountain dust of yours if you like? If not maybe next time... I am a next time type of girl after all." That said, the unfiltered eccentric jester gives the gnome a coy friendly smile demonstrating that she is open to a little negotiating rather than just turn something down flatly...
OOC: Note the 6 Dragons spent above have already been deducted from Phineas' character sheet...
So off to Candle Lane? I think we've got enough information, Floon was clearly kidnapped...or killed to get to Neverember's heir, if what we heard was right and he wasn't the target of those snakes...unless the heir is coluded with the snakes and Floon iz way more important than everyone else thinks
Ol' Xoblob Shop: "Why thank you, darling child. Perhaps the next time you come by we can see about a discount on this powder, I'm always happy to do some favors for good patrons."He finishes giving the lute a once over and it now has a shiny purple sheen to it. "As for a clubhouse, hmmmm."He rubs his chin again, lifting his specs to scratch the painted eyeballs on his forehead. "I cant' say for sure, but where you find one snake, you're sure to find more I always say."

Phineasgives her Lute the once over and smiles admiring its shiny purple sheen before slinging it over her shoulder and against her back... "Well thank you kindly Xob... your aces in my book, not that my book is very large mind you."
"As for a clubhouse, hmmmm."He rubs his chin again, lifting his specs to scratch the painted eyeballs on his forehead. "I can't' say for sure, but where you find one snake, you're sure to find more I always say."
The jester watches him closely Insight8 regarding her query about the location of a snakepit, feeling a twinge of something deep within her as her eyes narrow squinting at him, "you wouldn't be holding out on me would you Xob, I mean we're pals right? You and me... we've bonded, right? Shared something special between us as I am starting to think of you as the curmudgeonlyuncle that has my best interest at heart... cause I really need to find them and I would never spill the beans on you... if you did happen to let their location slip."Phineas extends her hand to Xobwith her little finger sticking out... grinning, "give us a pinky-swear then... that you don't know where I can find them and we're square."The jester moving her hand closer to his as she also gives him an innocent child-like kiss on the cheek her wide pale-blue in cutie soul-sucking beggar's stare hoping to guilt him a tad, Persuasion17 to see if she cannot get him to give up a hideout location or something more... to narrow it down a tad.
Phineas: You don't get the sense that he's lying. He just seems to have a few pieces of the puzzle and doesn't know how they fit together, so he's passing his pieces on to someone else.

Siobhan will let the others finish up once she speaks to Dolar, ready to look into the Snakes more if it would help them find where Floon was. Although now she could clearly tell this was more then she had orginally bargained for when she agreed to help Volo.
Phineas: The Skewered Dragon isn't far from the shop actually. Just across the street, opposite from where you turned before, and a little ways into the alley.

The jester jingle-jangles her way across the street looking at the sign closer... complaining to her friend, "well there is the problem, some fool spelled the name of the place wrong... its supposed to be the Skrewed Dragon and not the Skewered Dragon I am going to have a talk to someone about that!!! What kind of stupid name is that for a tavern, it's not the least bit bawdy... come along Mallory, don't twaddle about!"Phineasopens the door and strides inside the tavern as bold as brass...

He rubs his chin again, lifting his specs to scratch the painted eyeballs on his forehead. "I cant' say for sure, but where you find one snake, you're sure to find more I always say."
"All will become equal now" | "Cause we're going to shout it loud, even if our words seem meaningless. It's like we're carrying the weight of the world"
Phineas gives her Lute the once over and smiles admiring its shiny purple sheen before slinging it over her shoulder and against her back... "Well thank you kindly Xob... your aces in my book, not that my book is very large mind you."
The jester watches him closely Insight 8 regarding her query about the location of a snakepit, feeling a twinge of something deep within her as her eyes narrow squinting at him, "you wouldn't be holding out on me would you Xob, I mean we're pals right? You and me... we've bonded, right? Shared something special between us as I am starting to think of you as the curmudgeonly uncle that has my best interest at heart... cause I really need to find them and I would never spill the beans on you... if you did happen to let their location slip." Phineas extends her hand to Xob with her little finger sticking out... grinning, "give us a pinky-swear then... that you don't know where I can find them and we're square." The jester moving her hand closer to his as she also gives him an innocent child-like kiss on the cheek her wide pale-blue in cutie soul-sucking beggar's stare hoping to guilt him a tad, Persuasion 17 to see if she cannot get him to give up a hideout location or something more... to narrow it down a tad.
Phineas: You don't get the sense that he's lying. He just seems to have a few pieces of the puzzle and doesn't know how they fit together, so he's passing his pieces on to someone else.
"All will become equal now" | "Cause we're going to shout it loud, even if our words seem meaningless. It's like we're carrying the weight of the world"
(Well looks like Siobhan has competion for Phineas with this gnome.... I now see her getting out a white glove to challaenge him to a dual....XD)
Siobhan will let the others finish up once she speaks to Dolar, ready to look into the Snakes more if it would help them find where Floon was. Although now she could clearly tell this was more then she had orginally bargained for when she agreed to help Volo.
Phineas convinced that Xob has given her all he knows thanks him again and heads on out of the shop towards the Skrewed Dragon to find her friends.
Phineas: The Skewered Dragon isn't far from the shop actually. Just across the street, opposite from where you turned before, and a little ways into the alley.
"All will become equal now" | "Cause we're going to shout it loud, even if our words seem meaningless. It's like we're carrying the weight of the world"
Phineas looks across the street and shakes her head and giggles, "there it Mallory, why didn't you say something before?" The jester jingle-jangles her way across the street looking at the sign closer... complaining to her friend, "well there is the problem, some fool spelled the name of the place wrong... its supposed to be the Skrewed Dragon and not the Skewered Dragon I am going to have a talk to someone about that!!! What kind of stupid name is that for a tavern, it's not the least bit bawdy... come along Mallory, don't twaddle about!" Phineas opens the door and strides inside the tavern as bold as brass...
