-> The first attack hits Bone for 8 force damage (Bone - HP: 6/(86+15)). Bone needs to make a concentration check {DC 10} on the Hail of Thorns, which I am rolling on his behalf here: 14 - The spell persists.
-> The second attack also hits Bone, but for 14 force damage (Bone - HP: 0/(86+15)). Bone becomes unconscious, incapacitated, and falls prone. He also loses concentration on Hail of Thorns.
-> The third attack is aimed at Jury, who is prone. Nox's advantage is cancelled by that condition, so the attack roll turns out to be only a 16, which misses.
-> Nox does not move which means his Feline Agility racial feature recharges.
-> Dredge then recasts Call Lightning (at 5th level), attempting to hit both Grixx and Jury. This casting cancels the earlier casting of Call Lightning (3rd level).
-> Still prone, Jury casts Counterspell (3rd level) and succeeds the necessary skill check {DC 15} (reference).
If Jury isn't accidently dragged through any portal along the way, lets out a word in an otherworldly tongue. "Rise!" Bones will fill not only a new sense of vitality, but purpose drawing him once more back to his body. The work done, Jury looks to where he saw the last shot of eldritch energy come from and says, "Warrior Grixx. As I do not wish to expend unnecessary reserves in the effort, do let me go, and move away from the wall for now. We were taken off-guard once. This will not happen again." He then calls out to the still just stirring birdman. "That goes for you as well, Dr. Bones! Stay down, if you feel you must, but ready yourself for a new arrival."
Without waiting on a confirmation, Jury starts motioning in the air. "Rule Twelve: Let fly on burning wings the swiftest of retribution!"He shouts as he launches a firebolt in Nox's rough direction. Whether it hits or not, Jury falls to a knee, and then backward onto his bottom as he says, "That... Is your last warning, Tabashii. Either heed it, so that we may ALL prevail. Or I /will/ see you as ash before this cycle is done... Now stay on guard and away from the walls until the announcer has spoken."
Jury than looks up to the flying beast and says, "That goes for you as well, Wrath of Nature. Your veiled excuses will do you no further good here. "
(@All Yes, I know it is spelled Tabaxi. Fun fact: It 'spoken' as either Ta-ba-shee and Ta-bax-ee. though. Used 'i' instead just b/c I like how it looks. >.>)
Bonus Action: Jury Casts Healing Word(2nd level) on Bones, healing 5 worth of HP.
Action: Jury Casts Fire bolt at Nox's last known location at N77. To Hit: 19 For: 24.
(@Grx: The liquid wall portion starts many feet above you. The part of the wall that touches the ground is just plain stone. The closest thing to a portal you see is a pool of water beyond the part of the wall the Sphinx came out of.)
GRIXX'S TURN
-> Grixx activate his Rage.
-> Grixx moves toward the pool of water that reminds him of the portals he has seen so far. Grixx is at {G85} standing atop water as if it were solid ground. The water is bubbling rapidly, like it is boiling, but it does not feel hot.
(@Grx: I interpreted it as Grixx not taking along Jury because he wouldn't be able to reach the pool of water if he was carrying the warforged. This also means that Grixx still has his action for this turn. I'll make a DM decision below to keep things moving, but feel free to let me know retroactively if you'd rather use the action for something else.)
-> Grixx then uses the ready action to attack anything that comes within his melee range, since he is enraged and all.
-> Jury casts Fire Bolt at Nox with disadvantage since the target is still invisible. The attack would hit for 24 fire damage, but Nox uses his reaction to cast Shield (reference). The attack misses.
-> I'm rolling a concentration check on Nox's Greater Invisibility {DC12}, made with advantage because of the War Caster feat: 17 - Nox is still invisible.
20. Nox (HP: 77/87) - concentrating on Greater Invisibility (counter: 8), activated Shillelagh (counter: 8), AC increased by +5 until the beginning of his turn (Shield);
20. Lair action
19. Dredge (HP: 94/131) - has one Bardic Inspiration die stored (d8), in the form of a Quetzalcoatlus, flying 80 feet into the air;
15. Fallen Androsphinx (CMD: 220)
14. Grixx (HP: 115/137) - has an attackready to go at melee range.
10. Jury (HP: 1/89; Verdict's HP: 5/5; Justice's HP: 5/23) - missing facial armor plate until repaired (-1 to AC), prone, Verdict is momentarily out of play;
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Action: Nox cast Toll the Dead (3d12 because he not full hp) on Jury DC: WIS 17, 29 necro damage, half if succeed. A giant green transparant bell appear above the warforged head. *just go to sleep robot, you don't have to wory about anything anymore*.
Nox shout to Dredge *i'll leave the bird familty matters to you!*
The tabaxi then moves to E82 (using feline agility +30 movement) ready to intercept grixx if he tries to aid Jury.
(OOC: this feline agility much more usefull then i expected)
Jury's Wisdom Save vs Nox's Toll the Dead(DC 17): 17.
(@all Just for the sake of paperwork clarity, I'll add the following:)
If unsuccessful, Jury takes only half damage due to Inured to Death Class Feature:
Beginning at 10th level, you have resistance to necrotic damage, and your hit point maximum can’t be reduced. You have spent so much time dealing with undead and the forces that animate them that you have become inured to some of their worst effects.
"So, you would dare mock... with necromancy in answer.. Then it is death of all you have chosen and failure. Understood... Resuming mission parameters."He states as coldly as he brushed aside the sound of bells to stare roughly in Nox's direction.
At this point, the rapidly boiling pool of water explodes outward from beneath Grixx's feet. This launches the barbarian 15 feet backwards violently (details in the spoiler box below).
-> DEX saving throw {DC 15} for Grixx or he takes 6 bludgeoning damage and falls prone at square {G82}. On a success he takes no damage and does not fall down, but is still moved back 15 feet. This also happens before Grixx's turn officially starts, so Rage is still active. Here's the roll with advantage due to Danger Sense: 16.
Many heavily armored and armed guards emerge from the pool, marching into the arena in a well-choreographed manner. They astutely overtake the arena surrounding those of you on the ground and aiming large, elegant crossbows at those flying. Even Nox, despite being invisible, is surrounded as if they had no problem seeing him. It happens so quickly and efficiently that it is hard to count how many exactly have entered the arena, but a rapid glance suggest around two dozen.
Their armors are impeccable and uniform. Heavy and full plate armor pieces leave no gaps at the joints. The metal is stained in a brilliant bronze color, although they look to be made out of a much strong alloy. Intricate and artistic metalwork adorns each piece beautifully with a curved and symmetric design. Each piece end in a softly curve point, and the breastplate is made of several interlocking pieces, each around three inches in diameter. Each soldier displays a long white cape that fails to touch the dirty sand in the arena by only a fraction of an inch. The helmet is completely closed, and fails to reveal even the eyes of the would-be humanoids. The most prominent pieces however, are the pauldrons. Each mimics a long swirly horn that comes from the shoulder plates around towards the pectoral area, before pointing back out and upwards, menacingly. They all have crossbows and at least one bladed weapon, which varies per soldier.
After each of the five still-alive trialists are surrounded, you hear a familiar voice coming from the pool of water first: "Well well well. Now, wasn't this exciting! They persevered and fought against all odds. This is entertainment!" A roaring crowd yells from beyond the walls.
Slowly and elegantly walking towards the edge of the arena, you can finally put a face to the voice. A tall thin Gith with a well-kept beard and colorful attire strides in. The spellcasters in the group recognize his use of Thaumaturgy to add some volume and presence to his voice: "Who saw that coming? Who placed a bet the right way? Who guessed that young sorcerer would be the first to die? I'm sure a lot of gold has been earned this fair evening and there is plenty more to come!" His wispy garb flows without being physically forced to do so. They have a certain ethereal-ness to them, and display all the colors of the rainbow in a transitory fashion."But no one wants to see a bunch of meek and exhausted weaklings slap each other do they? HA HA HA. Let us give these gentleman some no-so-deserved rest and move on to more exciting events."
He finally addresses the group, albeit through his teeth and in a much lower tone: "Into the pool or you will all be executed right here." His facial expression is still pleasing but his yellow eyes spell murder.
The surprise is enough to catch all of you at least somewhat off guard. You may only act after he has addressed you directly. All of this takes about a minute to unfold. Mechanical details for what happens during this minute can be found in the spoiler box below:
Jury thoroughly took in the situation as much as possible before the question. At which, both he and the half-conscious creature in his head gave a slow nodded before the former stood up. "A moment." He points over to his faceplate, and with a snap of a finger along with some whirling, a Mage Hand seemingly made of smoke appears to retrieve it. "Gith." He gives another curt nod as he slips the plate in place, then starts walking to the portal.
Along the way the faint sight of a blow torch's spark can be seen going along the edge of his plate.

NOX'S TURN
-> Nox is still invisible from Greater Invisibility, gaining advantage on attacks from an unseen position.
-> Nox casts Eldritch Blast, letting out three blasts.
-> The first attack hits Bone for 8 force damage (Bone - HP: 6/(86+15)). Bone needs to make a concentration check {DC 10} on the Hail of Thorns, which I am rolling on his behalf here: 14 - The spell persists.

-> Dredge's Call Lightning fails.
-> Dredge then transforms into a Quetzalcoatlus and flies 80 feet straight up, still at {H77}.
(Grixx and Jury are up next. Then Bone needs to start rolling DEATH saving throws.)
"Have... you all... no ears." Jury jerks a hand out, then wrenches it back to his chest, attempting to contort and cut off Dredge's magic.
Reaction: Jury attempts a Counterspell(3rd level) at Dredge's Call Lightning. Ability Check(DC 15): 21.

Grixx says, "ARGH! EVERYTHING IN THIS TRIAL RUNS AWAY! I AM OVER THESE GAMES!"
Grixx would like to rage.
IF THERE IS A LIQUID PORTAL ALONG THE WALL FROM B,78-B,81 Grixx would attempt to walk through himself and drag Jury through if able.
If there is no Liquid Portal along the wall where Grixx can pull Jury then Grixx will use his movement to move toward the closest portal.
