Talon looks around carefully to make sure there are not anymore enemies shooting at them "I think we're alone now"
Talon walks over to where his old friend lay in pieces. "Did we win or did we lose? Either way the Jury is out." Talon stands to survey the room. So much lost in the battle. He will begin to gather what he can, searching for valuables among the ruble of arcane supplies. searchPerception: 22 He will also stay cautious as there is no reason to believe that more enemies wont show up soon. "Should we search for a way out of this place soon? This Lys... person that was mentioned can't be too far away."
Dredge approaches the still crackling egg, shrinking back into his half elemental form as he goes. “My friend, this was definitely a win. This egg... is a very valuable prize. Very valuable indeed. However, we need to be moving before any more reinforcements show up. I would think that killing Furloth has bought us some time, but who knows how long we truly have. Let’s find a place to hide and rest, shall we? I think an hour to recover our strength would be appropriate.” Dredge leans down, carefully picks up the egg and stows it inside his bedroll, careful to not let it crack.

Nox wakes up and stops drooling on the floor. Face bit sore from slamming on the ground. He stares bit of concern when Dredge store the egg but doesn't comment on it. He look up "hope this thing won't spit anymore lightning." He walks to the litte gap in the tower East of him and tries to look what outside.
Karwin heals Nox and herself just a tad. Bone does a little of the same. It is not much healing but it should be enough for now.
(@Palfatreos: I had mentioned the the slits were only representing the spaces/gaps between furniture pieces. There are no windows for you to look outside.)

The group then takes some time to look over whatever materials can be salvaged from the mostly destroyed arcane altar and its walls. Talon and Nox lead the exploration of the surviving shelves, Dredge examines the phoenix egg, and Bone takes charge of relieving Furloth's body of any valuables.
LOOT:
A coin-sized, opaque, striated light and dark green gem (malachite, 10gp);
A strawberry-sized, translucent rosy stone with a white, star-shaped center (quartz, 50gp);
A peach-sized, transparent red-brown gemstone (spinel, 100gp);
A fist-sized, transparent dark green stone (alexandrite, 500gp);
An egg-sized, translucent ruby with white star-shaped center (ruby, 1000gp);
A transparent fiery orange gem, the size of a ball of yarn (jacinth, 5000gp);
A copper chalice with silver filigree (25gp);
A box of turquoise animal figurines (250gp);
An obsidian statuette with gold fitting and inlay (750gp);
An old masterpiece painting depicting fruit, autumn leaves, and golden chalices (2500gp);
A small child's sarcophagus, painted entirely in gold (7500gp);
A large wooden chest, containing numerous high-value coins: 1000 gold pieces and 800 platinum pieces;
A pouch containing an 10 pieces of spell-casting components (you may pick which types exactly, each worth up to 1000gp. It can be a gem or whatever other priced spell component you'd like, but leftover gp-value is forfeited. Three out of the nine belong to Nox, as he was the only one to both loot the place before the fight broke out and survive the fight.);
A long, thin wooden box, labeled Quiver of Ehlonna (all compartments contain arrows, for a total of 270 - no need to count arrows anymore);
You also find an intricate clockwork cube, each face being two feet squared in dimension. The designs in each of the faces are asymmetric, and they have many moving parts in the from of dials, gears, and other bits (inspired by this).
The Nagpa is starting to moan and move a bit, clearly regaining consciousness.
Finally, you all hear more heavy steps coming up the staircase, except they sound a bit like hooves...
Grixx wobbles now that his rage has subsided and still feels fairly weak over to the stair case and tries to stand at the ready. He looks around seeing the fallen Jury and his hurt companions.(does not ready an attack)
”Gather what you can and prepare! We are not out of this fight yet! They have horses!”

Talon's awareness has not been slacked yet. "The scholar seems to be recovering. I fear if we don't act quickly to ensure he is no longer a threat we will find ourselves in danger again."
Talon uses his innate gifts to blast the scholar yet again: (Advantage for unconscious and Disadvantage for ranged attack should cancel each other, @Lerus, of course I have been wrong before :-0, let me know if I am again.)
Realizing that the scholar could be very useful if captured, Talon will aim to neutralize and not to kill ...
=Vigiliance=---=Paladin/Cleric(Oath of Devotion/Forge Domain)===
The sound of clacking hooves on stone eventually resolves itself as woman bedecked in grey plated armor similar design to that of Jury's own... and whose lower half had been replaced by the body of a black goat covered in places as well by the appropriate armor, saddle bags, and saddle of fine make. Though slighter of frame compared to the wilder and larger cousins roaming some planes, she still towered over most in the group, and carried a lance and shield in hand without seeming to be burdened by either.
Her canter slows to a trot then all forward movement comes to an end not far from the spot to take in the room and its remaining inhabitants. "It would seem that this unit... no, that is no longer proper, isn't it?" She shakes her head. "Doesn't matter. It is good to see that you have all faired well in our... Hm... I suppose it would be 'my' absence now. This is rather strange."The lance is temporiarily set to the ground, freeing her to pop up the faceplate of her helmet. With an audible hiss and a jet of steam out the sides, she takes off and shakes her head letting long, black tresses dance and revealing the small horns to be genuinely hers.
"Talon... Grixx... Nox... Dredge-..." Emerald eyes narrow as she stares flatly at the genasi. A look made all the more unnerving by the square, horizonal pupils. "And... Safe to assume you are -- were Karwin?" She asks, turning to the Tortle. "Or do you go by another name now? Now that I think of it, I do not believe any of us ever bother to appropriately introduce ourselves. Granted, death here does trivialize it for those that don't hold close to who they were." As soon as she had her answer, she simply nods, then looks about to the wreckage of a room before walking over to where Verdict had been destroyed. "Query: … No, that's no longer necessary now too... How.. *clears throat*... How long have I been gone? And what have you all discovered in my absence?"
Dredge finishes tucking away the egg and moves over to the pile of scrolls, snagging the scroll of Storm of Vengeance (druid only spell, so I suppose I’ll be hanging on to that) and walks over to the reincarnation of Jury. “Ha! I like this one better already! It looks like you have been given a proper nature now, eh?” His eyes narrow as a thought comes to him. “Is your temperament any better? And any raising of the dead?”
"Proper?" She asks, pausing in step to look back at Dredge with genuine confusion in her eyes. "And what was wrong temperament exactly? While there are some things lost to us... me. Me... That will take time."She shakes her head again, quickly dismissing the distracting line of thought. "I remember enough to know that I was hardly as cruel or bull-headed as you, spawn of undead." She states simply.
"What? Didn't know at least some of your brethren's blood was the result of the very thing you despise? Is that where your rage is from? Or are you to claim of being of the misfortunate victim of a planar event?"She asks curiously, and would even wait long enough for a brief answer before intruding with her own statement(if need be). "As for rather I have the inclination for raising the dead... that is what you are inquiring, yes? Hn. I still possess the capability through my goddess to do so. As your own friend over there does as well."She points her lance over to Karwin. "Or so I suspect, if she truly is -- or has at least remained -- a god speaker. And so could you, after a fashion."She expresses before continuing her journey to sift the rubble for the last image transmitted by Verdict clutching on to the ring for dear life. As if it might save him in the end...
"... You know too little, and blind yourself of too much to have the right to condemn anyone of their practices. But carry on insulting others, if it so pleases you."
Bone squawks at seeing the new quiver. He immediately takes the remaining arrows out of his old quiver and puts them into his new one (total: 287 arrows). He will take the coin-sized malachite gem (the first one listed that is 10gp) and stare at it. "Jury." He mimics.
Upon hearing the hooves, he pockets the keepsake gem and glares at the door. He see's Jury's new form and is in shock and awe as Dredge and her argue back and forth. He takes off at a dead sprint and hugs Vigilance. "Bone. Jury. Friend." A single tear falls down from the kenku's face.
Talon looks closely at the beautiful clockwork cube. He will put it in his satchel, hoping to give it more inspection later. Clearly it contains some kind of magic because he can sense it even in just picking it up.
He will help gather to other valuable items with the rest of the group. It will take a good bit of effort to get the heavier things out.
Talon knows that the scroll of Otiluke's Resilient Sphere is not something he is able to use but he keeps it just the same hoping to trade it or sell it later.
Taken aback, Vigilance can only stare down in stunned surprise at the Kenku for a moment. "...Bone?"She questions, canting hear head to the side, and then glancing to the others. Then, she seems to flinch at something before glancing back down at Bone with wide eyes and broad smile. "Bone!"Vigilance could not undo the straps on her shield fast enough, but record time is made all the same!
In moments, Bone is scooped up into a cheek to cheek hug, as well as some nuzzling before she holds him out in front of her. "The mean birds didn't hurt you too much did they? I tried to convince the others to focus, but no one was listening." Her expression darkens as she shoots a gaze at the ground. "Except Bailiff... Annoying little-..."She trails off into clicks and tittering of Sylvan curses. Vigilance starts mid-string to regard Bone, seeming to remember having the bird still in hand. "Don't you go repeating that now."The Goataur's smirk soon turns back into a worried look. "Tch! You're still hurt too! Here."She lays on kiss to the forehead(restoring 25 HP worth), causing some of the booboos to magically go away for Bone. "There. Feeling better?"
As soon as she had her answer, Bone is given one last hug before being moved onto the saddle. "Now you stay close now, ya here? Ain't no mean birds gonna mess with my chick-a-doo." She pats him on the head a few times.
When Talon hears the horses hooves coming up the stairs at first he scrambles to find cover. It becomes obvious that the Centaur that has come up the stairs is not trying to attack them.
He watches the exchange between Bone and the Centaur with rapt interest. "So Sally ... I'm sorry ... your name is Vigilance? Aren't you an interesting character. Where exactly do you come from? I know after starting my life as an Elf, the memories are still vague, I found myself in those cells down there. Is that where you ended up? What do you remember?"
While speaking with the Centaur, Talon will turn one more 1st level spell into a sorcery point (noting that on my character sheet now.)
"Also Sall... I mean Vigilance, I don't mean to break up the party but I have some ideas for you. Is it possible we can strap this rather nice looking sarcophagus onto your back and load more of these items into it? You have the potential to carry a little more than the rest of us and we seem to have a bit to carry at the moment. Nice of you to show up when you did! I have some rope we can use and I'm sure we can make it work."
Dredge calls after Viligence. “Capability and acting on capability are quite different. A king has the power to have every villager in his kingdom brutally murdered, does he not? But he is not evil for the power, he becomes evil once he has done it. In the same way, we are not in the wrong for possessing the ability to raise the dead, but your past life practiced the ability with regularity. And as to my lineage, which you have so called into question, my father and his father and his father before him were all human. You have to go back generations to find the elemental influence on my bloodline. Why it has chosen to resurface in me, I do not know. What I do know is that I am no spawn of evil.” He turns back to the hoard, spitefully taking the Wall of Fire scroll, as well as his share of the gold and platinum before moving to stand watch for more guards.
