"Although he looks dead...it seems the darkness of this place...is attracted towards his body. Maybe I can...," Doc says to Estellen, quickly trying to cast Spare the Dying on the priest to see if he can stabilize him in any way before the darkness overcomes him.
Otherwise, he'll shake his head at Estellen as if to say, "That was a close one," as he quickly moves over to examine the priest's body. Medicine: 17
"We...must send word...to the others. Let them know...what's happened here (and if possible, leave out the part about combat incompetence)."
Temple: The cantrip has no effect as the body lacks any sort of life force left. It is truly drained. The body has no marks on it, save for the cut caused by the glass shard it was holding, and it’s eyes have returned to normal.

Estellen looks down at the body and gives a sigh of relief. "I didn't realize that this was the sort of thing that happens in the outside world. Agreed, we must tell them that there is more going on than just orcs, and that we fought a tough battle against some demonic force but vanquished it in the end."
Estellen will examine the room for any sort of demonic signs (summoning circles and the like) and check the priest's body and the glass for residual magic. Investigation: 19, Arcana: 10
If nothing particularly interesting comes up, he will gesture towards the door and begin to leave.
Temple: The markings on the wall are too haphazard to be part of any summoning circle. However within the blood on the floor, there are lines and symbols. Again it doesn’t look like a summoning circle of any kind, nor does it look magical, but it does look potentially dangerous. However it looks like it is incomplete.
Doc's calm eyes momentarily swell as he makes contact with the body of the priest, his face is overcome with shock. He looks a bit panicked, quickly backing away. "DO NOT...touch...the body. Darkness remains here, Estellen, and it's trying to clasp on to anything still alive."
Doc will hastily take out the priest's journal and go back into the adjacent room to look for an ink bottle. If unable to find any sources of ink, he'll dip a random shard of glass in blood. He makes a very rough sketch of the markings in the journal as to make a record of it, being sure not to complete any of the shapes.
After he's done, he turns to Estellen on the way out of the church, saying, "Burn it...all of it. Hopefully, the others will notice. Hopefully, we are the only ones...with knowledge of what happened here. We must prevent anyone from completing this dark ritual."
After Doc and Estellen get all the information they need, Estellen will launch fire bolts around the church, setting key structures on fire and trying to bring the place down.
"That was unsettling, to say the least. But this means our quest to stop the orcs is more urgent than before. The shifter from last night gave me this pendant, which might have a chance of leading us to the orcs. Let us visit Sil, and see if we can get any information from him. Barring that, we ought to reconvene with the group and begin to travel."
Estellen will then head to the blacksmith's forge in search of Sil. If he doesn't appear to be there he'll head to wherever the rest of the group went.
Temple/blacksmith: Doc you find some ink to draw the symbols out. Given that the building is mostly stone, it’s impossible to set it all on fire or bring it down. However you manage to burn the bodies, what cloth and wood there is, and all the symbols and shapes etched in blood. The smell is awful as the blood and bodies burn.
You find Sil at the blacksmith and he tells you that it belonged to either Gaeryn or Rayna. Each having got one from their mother’s mother. Until Edra told him they were magical, he had no idea.
Tracks: Shortly before Doc and Estellen return to the group, you notice a couple of flames coming out of the temple and smoke rising from it.
Those searching for tracks have just come back from confirming the direction of tracks (NNW).
Glancing at the smoke, Violet gets an excited look in her eyes, "Finally! I was starting to think we'd be looking at mud all day." She takes off running towards the church, when she gets there, and meets Doc & Estellen she'll yell out, "What you guys smoking in here!?"
(it's more like a minute or two before you see Doc an Estellen walking towards you, you see the flames and smoke. As they reach the edge of town, the rest are returning to the edge of the town.)
Estellen attempts to ward off their questions with a wave of his hand, "It was... nothing of importance. We need to get moving as quickly as possible. Have you managed to pick up on the trail?"
Doc nods to support Estellen. "Worry not about the fire. We will inform you of the important details at a later time. For now, I agree with the wizard -- we must get moving if we are to pick up on the trail of our enemy."
(Unless you want to do anything else before following the tracks i'll need a marching order [1 or 2 abreast]. One person will act as Tracker and will roll a survival check, another will act as a spotter/lookout as you move forward and will roll a Perception check. Decide who will do which before rolling as well please.)

Temple: .The priest once again tries to stab or cut the large figure in front of him (Doc), 2 to hit and 0 damage if it hits.
Once again the Priest misses, this time missing the Tortle completely and lightly headbutting the shield whilst he does so.
(Anyone watching this battle must be in awe at the sheer incompetence of all the combatants)
