I'm contemplating running a short/one-shot Level 11 side adventure borrowed from Princes of the Apocalypse if there is interest.
The campaign will take place in the Dessarin valley, in the village of Yartar, halfway between Neverwinter and Waterdeep
The Halls of the Hunting Axe stand as a reminder of the long-forgotten dwarven kingdom of Besilmer. A gateway between the underground and surface worlds, the halls were once a magnificent complex with soaring, arched walls, beautiful stained-glass windows, and impeccable craftsmanship. The only things left standing now are a few crumbling ruins upon a prominent outcropping that survey the plains for leagues around. Rumors claim the ruins of the halls hide an entrance to the tomb of the king of Besilmer himself, Torhild Flametongue, along with his magical axe, Orcsplitter. Others insist the place serves only as a hideout for bandits and beasts.
If you are interested post a character link/idea here.
Level 11, Standard Array/Point Buy/Roll (4d6 drop lowest, reroll 1's if you want) Ability scores are all fine. Feats are ok.
Starting EQ, 2000 gold, and 1 attuned magical item (uncommon fine, rare ok with DM discretion). EQ can be purchased in advance, or in Yartar once we start.
I prefer a somewhat quick pace, so i'd request you commit to being able to do at least a post a day. RP is highly encouraged and i'm happy to ad-lib or extend the adventure to accommodate it! Looking for 5 people. Preference will be given to players who are DMing other PbP campaigns. Trying to encourage more folks to run games :)
Here is my Battlemaster Fighter. (I’m cheap - and only have champion, but have de selected things that wouldn’t fit.). Having Crossbow expert and duel wielding feats. He likes to target multiple enemies near and far, trying to control the field of battle. I’ve had this character in my head for a long time and would be excited to try it out.
Ex soldier who has spent his retirement as a mercenary. Taking any job to keep the excitement that doesn’t cross his moral ambiguity. But does try to do what is right.
Backstory/Characteristics: Glim is a self-taught reclusive misanthrope of a wizard from a remote village of rock gnomes. He has spent years of research with singleminded focus on a seemingly impossible problem: attempting to bypass the immutable arcane law of single concentration. As a transmutationist, skirting natural laws is something of a specialty, and he has found that most things that seem immutable turn out to be...mutable, with the right technique, but this one has eluded him. His most promising lead involved the creation of a paradox field by first declaring that one always lies then proceeding to focus intently on not thinking about a hippogryph; however, one experiment in this direction led to a tear in space, causing Glim to be teleported halfway across the plane to who-knows-where. After a time trying to find his way back, he decided to take advantage of the mishap and see some sights, offering his considerable skills to groups of adventurers in need of magical aid.
I probably shouldn't add another game, but a level 11 one shot sounds really fun...

Fil Sawyerson II - A Human Druid of the Forest/Berzerker Barbarian
I went with point buying.
ddb.ac/characters/9754770/yMwjVM
Back story: Boisterous and loud, Fil is the descendant of one of the royal gamekeepers of Cormyr. He followed in his ancestor's footsteps of becoming a druid but choose to spend more time among animals to understand them and gain insight, going as far as to don their shape and form in combat. His preferred shape is the bear. His time in the forests and among the creatures exposed him to his furocious side. He left Cormyr at the request of the Royal Mage to the west to seek out a noble who was brought back to life in Waterdeep. After his mission, Fil decided to roam around the forests of the Sword Coast to catalog new animals for the Royal Library before he returns to Suzail to resume his gamekeeping duties. Although he prefers to shift into bear form, he loves cats.

Klong the Banger
Description: Klong is a giant of a man. With a mouth of crooked teeth like pebbles, and a "HUR HURRR!" laugh, it's difficult to know if Klong has just been punched in the face or if he was born this way. Klong wields a wardrum, and bangs it hard. Despite Klong's towering form and fearsome face, he's actually quite warmhearted and nice. He might slap you on the back a bit too hard, or laugh a bit too loud at a joke at your expense, but he doesn't mean any harm. He takes as good as he gives, and he's great to have around, whether by your side fighting goblins or as a drinking buddy in the local tavern.
Backstory: Klong really loves his crippled "mama" and goes around collecting stories so he can go home and tell her about all the new friends he has gained on his travels. You see, he was the runt of the litter in his clan and got picked on, so he mostly tended to the animals and the elderly with his mother. Now he is big and strong! And so many fun stories to tell for mama!

Rolling and dropping 1s is a recipe for some crazy stats! You'd be crazy to take standard array or point buy with that as an option.
"Darvin" | Changeling | Hexblade 1 / Swords Bard 6 | Descent Into Avernus (AC 19; PP 14; 52/52 HP)
Anton Chergoba | Human | Battlemaster 4 | Lost Mines of Phandelver (AC 20; PP 14; 36/36 HP)
What caliber of magic item do you have in mind?

Anton Chergoba | Human | Battlemaster 4 | Lost Mines of Phandelver (AC 20; PP 14; 36/36 HP)
Any uncommon, Rare requires approval but would likely be fine.
