Arxius moves about the area to gather her axes, wiping the bloody one on the leg of her trousers. A slight limp to her usual swagger. Finally she sits down and looks at the damage. “Bastard rats,” she mutters, noting the bite marks through her boot. She carefully unbuckles it and pulls the leather down around her ankle. “Can I get some help here?”
"Sit down, Arx, let me look." Rees pulls out her waterskin from her pack and will try to clean and bandage the bite.
ooc: she doesn't have a healer's kit/medicine kit, but she is proficient in medicine? So maybe there's something she can do without having to use a healing spell? Worth a shot.

Sorry, but a medicine check typically just lets you try to stabilize a dying companion or diagnose an illness. The [Tooltip Not Found] allows you to do the same thing, but without the skill check. You guys can take a short rest though.. Alten/Rees/Arixus still have hit die since you didn’t rest with the others after the first battle.
”It will be fine, my boot will hold it together,” Arxius says with a growl as the water is splashed on her bleeding ankle. “Unless you want to go back to the inn?”
Talien looks around for the next path that will lead further down.
(Now that we are down on this level, what are the options for proceeding? Just one set of stairs? Are there 2 paths down as before? (Rope and handholds previously)
Yes, I have seen drawings of a pig before I saw the one we used as bait, I had just never met one. But never a rat as you call these things, I have no knowledge of these. Talien responds, poking a rat with the tip of his sword, then starting to clean it with a rag. I have seen fish, chickens, and other birds. There was this thing with antlers that ran by me really fast once...Now that you mention it, I have seen a smaller rat with a fluffy tail that lived in a tree and eats nuts.(squirrel) It made a strange sound and that is how i found it. There are not many creatures I have had the opportunity to seeing before arriving to this realm. You use these other living creatures and train them to do things for you (referring to oxen and horses) that we used machines for. Some animals I have heard of but have never encountered before. I still wonder how a snake moves...Does anyone have a snake or know were one lives? Speaking of animals you can train, are dragons big enough to ride? It said before in a book that it can fly, I wonder if it can be something I could fly around.
Snakes can live most anywhere that isn't too cold. They are adaptable as long as they have a food source. You could probably find some out in the woods or even in a place like the Citadel if you searched carefully.
To the best of my knowledge, dragon riders are something of legend. One generally doesn't consider dragons as a "trainable animals". They are typically very intelligent and if you called a dragon an animal, it might try to kill you for the insult.
So dragons are smart? Can they talk then? Talien's eyes flash red and then return to blue. I have never met a dragon, but I doubt it could even injure me...let along kill me.(not knowing how strong dragons are)
Most dragons are very smart, probably smarter than you or me. I've never met one. But . . . if that Blight injured you this morning with its pike, then a dragon would probably kill you as just easily as I killed that rat, especially if it was a fully grown dragon.

Talien's eyes flash red as he stares at Alten and says quietly, but you can sense he is angered. You doubt my prowess in combat? His eyes start to slowly change back to blue as he clams downI fear no dragon, nor anything in battle. The foe I faced earlier got a very lucky hit in. Even an unskilled foe can get lucky Alten.
And what in the name of Torm was Rees yelling about right before the rats showed up?
I dont know what Rees was yelling about. All I did was touch her...I think she needs some comfort. Talien says. He turns to Rees, eyes turning purple and says. You can borrow any of my supplies to clean your weapons if you want. Cleaning things always brings me comfort. Then he adds in a little louder voice,Forging weapons does too, he quiets as his eyes return to blue but we will have to wit to get back to town for that...

Those were big rats... not sure I've ever seen one that size, how did they get the drop on us?

I guess we weren't too watchful. How are we doing on our healing? I can do a little bit if necessary.

Rat? We bought a pig earlier and it died. To those other things... Talien says, eyes flashing red briefly, We have none of these creatures at home...

You don't have animals where you come from? That was the first pig you have encountered?
