"actually i do... see even tho Mirabar’s marchion, handles foreign policy, the true power within the city rests with the Council of Sparkling Stones, a group of dwarf elders that manages the city’s security and decides where the output of Mirabar’s mines are sold. You see Underground Mirabar is the true reason the city has the wealth it has. The residential caverns, superheated forges, & foundries that operate day and night produce all the Minerals and Iron the city needs!"
"I have a Friend on the Council of Sparkling Stones, or well last i knew he was a Council member, when we get into town i can try and get us a meeting."
You continue on down the road towards the little town. When you get to the end of the road you reach what appears to be a small gatehouse. Two humans are posted outside of it. They are wearing leather armor with cauldrons and hold heavy spears.
They hail you as you approach, "Halt what business have you here?" asks the one on the right who appears to be an older dark haired veteran. You look at the one on the left and find he appears to be a fair haired youth.
We've traveled up from our last stop, a town called Oakhurst. With all due respect, our business is our own, gentlemen. It requires discretion and confidentiality. We don't just disclose it without good reason. Again, with all due respect, why do two town guards care? Does your city not welcome visitors? Do your merchants not want our gold?

The two guards look at each other.
The older guard says, "Security is strict here.. we take the protection of our mines seriously. Visitors are welcome, but you must leave your weapons here. You can pick them up when you leave."
I look at my companions incredulously. I look back at the man, cocking my eyebrow at him.
A Paladin sworn to the service of Torm does not hand over his weapons. That would leave me in violation of my oaths incapable of fulfilling my duties to my god.
Surely you must have some kind of exemption or accommodation for these kinds of circumstances?

Shake seems suspicious. "Maybe we should find another entrance into the city and make sure this is a universal policy throughout the city, and not just localized to these guards." He gives the guards an appraising look.
"This is a bigger city than I was expecting," Rees says, raising her hood to shadow her face instinctively.

Does anyone else have contacts here? I’m sure there’s a temple of Torm in the city, but as far as I know, I don’t know anyone there.

Grom, can you take me to the blacksmiths? I would like to finish the daggers I started. Do they sell weapons?
