(any results from Erick's information search on the target?)
Yep, you get all of what you requested. Home/work address was already provided in the iPad data given to you. Erick manages to also find his facebook and LinkedIn profiles and can deduce the identities of family and coworkers that way as well as photos and other details from public posts.
(Int+Investigation lets you find public information about someone; if you want to try to break into something to gain privileged information, see the Rules Modules -> Core -> Computers document for more details; basically though it's a tool check, Int + Computers if you have proficiency with Computers, or just Int otherwise)
(public information is ok - it was just about being cautious that these searches wouldn't be traced back. I'm a little stuck now - do you want us, the players, to make up where the places are, the profession of the target, family etc as part of our planning?)
(I'm game for whatever plan you want to come up with. If you want me to make up details, I can. Otherwise, you can. If a detail is important I'll be sure to mention it, otherwise you can make up whatever you want and I'll try to roll with it. In the unlikely event that what you come up with simply won't work, I'll make up something else instead at that point in time. Sound good? We should figure out how we're going to proceed with details stuff in general so that we don't get wires crossed in the future, so whether that's a me taking a more laid back stance and letting you having an active part in worldbuilding, or me doing it all myself, would be good to hammer out now. My preference is to not have more work to do in terms of worldbuilding every single NPC -- aka you help out with coming up with names, professions, and other details -- but I'm willing to do it if you want me to.)
(Sounds good, I'm more than happy to come up with details as we go - it's my preferred style really, allowing everyone involved to have creative input on story-telling. Scotty/Barlow - sound good to you?)
Erick stops working with his smartphone, leaving it face-up on the table in front of him, then nods at Rev, "I've got a fair amount - the data on the tablet was good and I've got more on top of that. I don't have access to much in the way of equipment though. Cash flow is kinda awkward recently."
Erick leans back in his chair and looks thoughtful for a moment, then reaches inside his jacket and pulls out a small notepad and pencil, "Always good to have a low-tech backup"he smiles as he flips the notepad open and begins to make some notes.
"So, we've identified that we need a vehicle - needs to be one where we can easily conceal one person inside the vehicle, without them being visible from the exterior. None of us currently have such a vehicle, so we'll need to hire, borrow or steal one," Erick pauses and observes Rev & Abraham's reactions to that statement, before continuing, "Discrete comms would be useful, but that's specific equipment - expensive and potentially traced back to us, so we'll probably have to do without it for this job. Best I can suggest is use a cell phone. Grab a burner phone if you don't have one - SMS and voice should do us."
Erick rips a page out of the notepad, places it on the table and slides it across to the others, it reads:
Abraham lounges in a bar stool since hitting a dead end on the rental, "Could just steal a car. People tend to ask fewer questions when the car is found in decent shape, we we could swipe it, transport, then leave it somewhere discreet. If one of us chats him up, he may be led into 'escort' by the other two." If it comes down to it, he can take the way-back seat."

I have done something similar to this before once or twice and i find this works more smoothly when we can understand the target a bit better so i would like to head to his house now and tail him for at least a day to try and get a sense of where the best spot would be. I think the easiest and quickest option will be a snatch and grab out the side of a van somewhere he is alone however also happy for other ideas"
"So AB, if you wanted to go 'acquire' some wheels i think that would be a great help and we will probably need a taser if we can get our hands on it, some rope and duct tape. Hopefully our friends here might be able to supply some of it, if not might have to be sourced from else where."
"Now Erick, not sure what your skill set best suits to but you seem like a massive computer wiz to me, which I myself certainly am not. It would be great to have someone watching over us feeding us information and providing backup plans/routes/details if something goes sideways. However if you think your more suited elsewhere I'm sure we can make something work."
"For the actual snatch i think AB will be most suited as he seems to have the strength encase a tasing does not work which would leave me to drive, unless anyone knows a kickass getaway driver? However it is probably better we don't involve anymore people."
"Good to me. I'll be muscle, you hold taser, and Rev here drives."

(If you want to obtain things from the Disciples to use in this task, see the Reputation rules. In short, you can use Reputation instead of Wealth to "purchase" equipment, it will take a number of hours to arrive equal to that equipment's Value, and will typically come with strings attached in terms of how you can use it or when you need to return it. The Disciples are a bit cash-strapped at the moment, at least towards new recruits, so anything with a Value above 10 is not available. They will be able to supply you with a Taser (Value 7) should you ask; you'll need to pick it up during the day tomorrow at their HQ.)
(Sorry, guess i was waiting to see what stormknight thought of the plan)
"Johannas, any chance The Disciples would be able to acquire for us a taser and 3 burners for this mission?"
"So guys Im going to do some recon on this guy just on foot and see if there is anything interesting, AB you see if you can find somewhere to aquire that van from. But maybe hold off on actually doing anything that will get you noticed until closer to the grab. Erick your either welcome to come with me or do some more digging into this guy to see if there is anything more to find."
"So unless anyone else has something that they want to discuss I'm going to make my way over to his residence. If we can't make contact throughout the day, lets meet back here at 21:00 tomorrow to discuss what our next move should be"
"I think we can probably get those for you. You'll need to stop by HQ tomorrow and ask, and they should be able to get it for you by the end of the day, sometimes these things take a bit. Right now they're closed, and I'm super-tired, so I'm probably going to head off. You'll want to head through the lobby and open the door behind it using that key I gave you, then make a right to make your way to Valerie who should be able to get you sorted with your equipment. Anyway, I need to get some sleep, so best of luck."
Johannes heads out the door, and the barkeeper indicates that you should be moving to leave yourselves.
(Whoever is planning on using each item is the one the Reputation is checked against. For example, the person using the Taser and one burner is essentially "buying" two things with Reputation, and each other person is "buying" the burner with their own Reputation. You'll be able to keep it for the duration of this mission. The HQ is the main church building downtown.)
(I have a reputation of 7 does that mean i can just get the burner or do i have to roll for it? and not sure who we decided who would take the taser but it think it was AB.)
"Okay Gents, I'm going to make my way over to Mr Kodyne's House over on Lawrence Street to start figuring out this guy and what we can do. You guys do what you need to do to get ready and lets all meet at HQ at 21:00 to pick up our gear and make final arrangements. I will see you all there then."
Rev picks up his half full beer glass, finishes it off and heads out the door. "Blast this rain just wont stay away will it!" Rev annoyingly states. Rev turns up his leather jacket collar in a sorry attempt to keep the water off and begins the walk to the station. A hat might be able to keep some of this rain off and hopefully stop some prying eyes, on one will notice if one goes missing from this stand. (Slight of hand check to swipe one from a hat rack he passes: 18).
Maybe I should find where he works before i head to his place encase i loose him on the way, i might be able to head him off better later on if I know where I'm going. Rev easily finds his way to East Ontario St. "This factory has seen better days it seems, that chimney almost looks like its about to collapse." Rev takes in the surrounding areas and notes down a few good vantage points and back alleys.
Trying to get back out of this rain Rev heads towards Grand Station and finds a train heading on the Red line and makes more notes on the time it takes and the major stations the train passes on the way towards Lawrence. "Finally this rain is easing off!" as he wonders down Lawrence past what feels like a never ending cemetery. CRACK! "Shit what was that?" realising it was only thunder, Rev continues on until he reaches the end of the cemetery at Clark St and finding Mr Kodyne's apartment complex on the corner.
"Oh thank you!" Rev exclaims in delight as he sees a 24 Hour Mexican place on the corner (Yes i did some actual google maps research) he makes his way inside, sits down by the window and begins to scope out the building. "Waiter! Ill have 2 Burritos with everything you've got. And now we wait..."
Rev keeps his eyes peeled waiting for his target to show himself of his way to work. (Perception: 9 and a general Stealth check: 9)
(Skizzerz, let me know if i should change something or want me to keep going, was just trying to get the story moving)
(Sorry for the delay, the last couple of days have been really busy. I meant to post yesterday but then forgot 😔. @ScottySkid: all of that sounds fine. Reputation is like Wealth; if the Value of the item is ≤ your Reputation, then your Reputation stays the same. If it is above, consult the rules on how much your Reputation goes down by.)
@ScottySkid: It was early Sunday morning when you all met. What day are you doing all of the above at?
(I was going straight from the meeting and continuing onto what i wrote to try and get some information for Monday night. But still not sure what the others were going to do, or agreed with what i was going to do, was just trying to move the story forward)
(Not at all familiar with Chicago, so I'll follow on the recon :) )
