nature 16I'm not going to lie, i have little to no ****s of an idea of what that thing is, or is about. But just looking at him i'm guessing his breath weapon is it's strongest asset and that could be neutralized by Kod, but his is also null. i have meditated and not only will i have the strength of my totem but i will also have 3 lives with my wildshape, i think it my be best if i go but i want to come to this decision as a group
cast BA Shillelagh as a pull out my club for the first time a Totem of its own with a handle with a strong base of a gorilla transitioning majestically and smoothly into a wolf with a fey dragon top piece.
You have nothing to prove Kod but i will respect your decision and we will be standing by to ensure none of their side interferes. I don't imagine being a 1 on 1 it will become ranged but just encase.

BA Totem as Kod walks out the door Gorilla/Bear behind the door so its radius is 30 ft out and invisible 7 temp hp to replace any temp hp you have or don't have
The old Dragonborn nods painfully, pulls the shield from his shoulder and hands it to Kod- holding onto the rim for just a moment, he says in a low tone- "You have my support. I don't know the story- but I don't need to. There's no honor to be had or lost in kinslaying. Only unburdoning. I'll follow your wishes; win or loss, if you should fall to wounds and you want the job done still, when they walk from this place ...I'll hunt them down." He shakes the shield in reassurance and releases. "Anyone have any spare potions or aid they can provide?"
The guards open the doors for Kod and he marches out to meet the foe in single combat.
The blue dragon-kin smiles as Kod steps forward. He calls out to the keep, "These are the terms for combat: The three children will be set loose immediately, but my kobolds will continue to guard the woman, and they will kill her if anyone interferes in the fight. One stray arrow, one wayward spell that does not come from this champion walking to meet me, and she dies! Regardless of who wins, the woman will be released when the fight is over. I act of my own accord, this is no cultist trick, I simply wish for a challenging fight. My honor is my word." On that note, the three children are indeed released and run past Kod into the safety of the keep.
Governor Nighthill orders his troops to hold during the combat.

Tar eyes the mountain of scales a moment before booming back to him, "Fair. Yet, you have your seconds, and guards to hold your prisoner already fielded. Fair trade and fair dealings so far- the champion deserves his seconds afield ...to also ensure no one interferes. What say?"

The blue dragon-kin eyes Tar, "My soldiers follow orders. I told them not to kill the woman or interfere with combat unless someone from your side interferes. If you need the same assurance, so be it. You can watch, but stay back. If I think you're trying something the girl dies. This'll be a fair fight. I'm not even looking to kill any- This can't be. The wyrmling lives! Bwa ha ha! Kod of Strun, join me in glorious combat!"

Kod, roll initiative. If yours is higher, take the first turn. I will assume the rest of you obey the commands of the challenger or risk the consequences, so this will be a back and forth until one combatant falls. If anyone wants to try to do something, let me know, but this might be kind of fast paced. We'll also assume Kod walked through Place's totem to gain the temp HP, but is far away from the effects of the totem during the fight, since they're about 80 yards out.

Tar humps it double-time to the spectacle- he cant tell how far back the enemy is from the champions, but he tries to match their distance out of respect, but in action reach of a call or command from Kod.
Kod is tall at 6'1". He stands over most humanoids in crowds, but as he nears his opponent on the battlefield, he realizes that this beast of a dragon-thing stands at least a head taller, crouched. Whether distracted by Tar's approach and keeping an eye to make sure he doesn't interfere or letting Kod's attack hit to see what his opponent is made of, Kod's broken axe lands against his armored side. "Ooooh. You've got some power behind those little arms, runt. You're all grown up now, right? How many years ago was it that you should've died?" He pulls out a greatsword from its sheath, grips it with both hands and quickly makes two horizontal slashes back and forth at Kod. Attack: 15 Damage: 11 Attack: 19 Damage: 14 The first hit catches Kod off guard, you didn't think he could swing a greatsword that fast, but you're prepared for the return swing, and duck out of the way. That hurt, but you push through, letting your rage keep you focused through the pain.
Cyanwrath leans back into a defensive stance and the axe passes inches in front. He pivots and lunges forward, thrusting his blade at Kod, Attack: 15 Damage: 11 Kod uses his borrowed shield to thwart the incoming stab, but Cyanwrath pivots again and puts his weight behind an upward swing. Attack: 24 Damage: 9 He catches Kod in the arm and slices through a few scales, Kod's rage doing its job.
Cyanwrath arches backward as the axe gets within an inch of his chin. Spinning out of the way, he retaliates with two more horizontal strikes, utilizing his momentum. "You have much to learn, pup." Attack: 26 Damage: 14 The first swing leaves a deep gash that has potential to scar. (I'm going to let you decide where this hits, and if it leaves a scar after healing. Could be a cool story thing and thematic since it's a crit.) Attack: 15 Damage: 12 After the first attack, Kod instinctually brings up his shield arm and manages to block the second incoming blow. "You are formidable, that is for certain, but you have a long way to go before you're any match for me." with this, Cyanwrath takes a deep breath and spews lightning forward in a 30' line, catching only Kod in its area of effect. (Action Surge) Breath weapon: Kod must make a DC 13 DEX Save or take 15 Lightning damage, half on success.

Kod raises stretches his shoulders lifts his axe.
"He's my uncle. Killing him is my right alone."
Kod smashes his damaged axe on his knee shortening the shaft to the size of a battle axe and gives it a couple practice swings.
"Tar. Can I borrow your shield?"
His eyes narrow in the direction of the door and lightning arcs off of his body.
I attempt to give Tar guidance for the fight. Cast guidance cantrip.
