From the sides of the cave, two more swarms of insects emerge from the stalks and plants in the fungi forest. A swarm of flies converges on both Valrish and Grimnir.

The swarms prove more of a nuisance than a threat.
Eldeth, Derendil, and Jimjar take turns helping to clear the initial swarm away from Oorr. (Summarizing NPC turns from now on, so as not to hold up the flow of the fights, and also to remember they're there.)
I try to freeze a few of the bugs attacking Grimnir, while my bonfire continues to burn the bugs attacking Oorr.
OOC: Create bonfire creates a hazard, but I can't remember when that hazard takes effect.
(Assuming Frostbite?) Con Save DC 14: 8 Damage: 6 You freeze exactly one bug. A few are left still crawling around the Aarokocra.
Your bonfire continues to burn around Oorr, singeing the bugs and catching some of the stalks of mushrooms on fire. They don't catch fast, starting to smolder at the bases.

The monk deftly squishes every last bug surrounding him.

As the swarms dwindle, they tend to do less damage (i.e. swarms do half damage once they are at 11 hitpoints or fewer). They appear to be able to avoid the brunt of normal weapon attacks (piercing, bludgeoning, slashing) but take the full blast of magical or other types of damage. (OOG I think you already knew this but that's the specifics.)
In addition to this, the swarms appear to be afraid of fire, and are fleeing from the burning mushrooms caused by Belwar's bonfire.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zippy, following, as usual, the instructions of his birdy friend, attacks again the swarm (4) close to Valrish Grimnir. Zippy Attack: 21 Damage: 6 + acid damage 8 (DC 12 CON save to halve the acid damage)
