Grimnir, feeling slightly useless in this fight, fires another crossbow bolt Attack: 19 Damage: 9 The bolt slices directly through the face of the elemental. Surprising it.
The water weird recoils from the attacks as it seems to lose some of its mass, shrinking to a smaller fount of water spewing up out of the dark pond. (Takes 7 total damage). Meanwhile the coils of water tighten around Valrish trying to suffocate him: Constrict Attack: 14 Damage: 15
Valrish withstands the pressure as Grimnir fires another crossbow bolt: Attack: 19 Damage: 4 Another swath of water falls from the creature.
The Water Weird takes more damage, and suddenly releases Valrish, sinking into the water. Within moments, the pool grows still, with Valrish sitting on top of it. There is no sign the creature was ever present.

Amafrey, the Flumph, indicates that to the left you may find the entrance to the obelisk cavern, but it is hidden, barred, and probably guarded. To the right is a secret passage, but it is much to small for any of you to enter. The derro do something that allows them to shrink down small enough to enter the thin passage ways. She's not sure what it is, but she thinks they have to eat something.
Whatever you decided to do, she will wait for you here, as she is not good in a fight, and is unable to go down the passageway herself. She asks that you return and tell her when you've stopped them from fixing the obelisk. The sanity of the Underdark may depend on it.
Grimnir, who has been quite silent for a while, remembers he found some weird mushrooms a while back. Joining the conversation with Oorr and Rumpadump, he searched for something inside his bag: "What about those different mushrooms? Would they have magical properties?"
Jimjar, close by, joins in. " Oh I wouldn't bet on that.. Who knows what they do, they might kill you..."
OOC: I love it, so Alice in wonderland :) I might have miss a note saying "Eat me" close to the mushrooms !
Oorr will ask Rumpadump:" Rumpadump, my friend, do you know of anything that makes you small when eaten? "
Rumpadump thinks for a moment, then says, "There are some types of fungus here that I have not seen anywhere else. Not even in the Neverlight Grove. If we find some, I can examine it."
(Oorr and Grimnir, you can make a Survival check with advantage to search for this fungus with Rumpadump's aid.)
Near the entrance to the narrow cavern, Oorr and Rumpadump discover a few clusters of fungi. Rumpadump points out the two types that are unfamiliar to him.
The first is a cluster of purple capped mushrooms standing between 4-5 inches tall with thin stems. The second grouping consists of smaller fungi, with one inch stems and blue caps speckled with white dots.
Rumpadump leans down to examine them more closely.
(OOG Oorr, please roll a Nature check with advantage to identify the mushrooms with Rumpadump's aid.)
Rumpadump looks closely at the fungi, picking one of each and then turning them around as he releases some spores from his head.
"Ah, yes, thank you,"he says, nodding at the mushrooms in his hand before turning to address the group. "The larger ones are called BigWig, and can enlarge you for a short time when ingested. The smaller ones are Pygmywort and will shrink you down, also if ingested. Probably best not to eat too many at once..."
Too illustrate, Rumpadump ingests the smaller mushroom called Pygmywort and immediately shrinks down to less than a foot tall. (OOG side note, is this cannibalism?) He approaches the tunnel entrance from the side tunnel and easily fits through into the passage. After a moment, his small hand reaches out and waves everyone to follow.

Oorr gives to all the party one fungus of each type. Then he and zippy eat the Pygmort to shrink down and pass through the tunnel.
