The Underdark creature seems very unsure of the large group of humanoids it has happened on. It quickly snatches the food from Valrish's open hand, then dashes off into the darkness. You hear the sound of its many legs skittering across the cave walls slowly fade away into the distance.
With the creature gone, you all take stock of your supplies. It looks like you have enough food and water to last you at least a couple days before you'll need to forage for more. You're not entirely sure how far the Darklake is from your current location (Shuushar assures you it is no more than a tenday at normal pace), but you do know Ilvara and her guards will likely be on your tail very soon, so it's high time you set out.
OOC I vote for normal pace too. Drows are weaker in sunlight, so we'll have some advantage over them.
(OOC Just wanted to clarify, you are still underground, with no clear information on how to get to the surface, although that's what you are hoping to find in one of the cities you could go to. The Underdark is a big place!)

Oorr sighs. He craves the strong winds of the Star Mounts. The Underdark is like a cage.

OOC Oh... I'm sorry, I misunderstood.
(OOC No worries! I may not have describe it well. You are all deep in the Underdark, and now that you are free, you need to find a way back to the surface world. The caverns and caves stretch out in countless directions, so you have to find your way to somewhere with access to the surface. Some of your companions also live in the Underdark and may just want to find their way home.)
After some debate, few people are willing to rush through an unfamiliar place, and others are cautious about moving too slowly, no matter how careful they are. You agree to go at a normal pace for now, but will be on the lookout for opportunities to move more quickly, as well as ways to deter anyone following you.
(OOC since it's 2 of you for the normal pace, we'll go with that. Feel free to discuss and adjust as you deem necessary).
So begins your journey into the Underdark.
You travel for two days, finding your way through the dark, heading in a general northwest direction towards the darklake, you hope. During this time you learn that Prince Derendil is quite the talker, now that he's no longer captive. He speaks of his kingdom, and the elven king who raised him. Oddly none of you have heard of the king for him being so important.
You notice Jimjar keeping a book of columns that he places marks in. "I always keep to my word with my bets,'he confesses. He claims to have stolen the book from the drow as you left, but you can't recall seeing him do it.
Early on the third day of your journey you pass into larger cavern dotted with both stalactites along the ceiling, and stalagmites throughout the floor. Oorr spots a strange marking on the side of the cavern. Sarith's brow furrows, "It is a drow warning sign. It.... it means 'Demon's ahead.'" Eldeth looks about, worried, holding up her shield and sword. "I don't see anythin'. Maybe tis an old warning." "Pay it no mind, the lake...it is closer, I can feel it. We are nearing my people." says Shuushar. You hope against hope he is correct, and continue your journey.
That same evening, you find a suitable place to make camp. You've been traveling at a good pace, if not a hurried one. As you're settling in, a loud shout comes from the area where Bupiddo was laying down. He runs away, towards the rest of the party, a dagger in his hand. "I didn't see it! I was just about to sit down, and I almost bloody sat on it! It's right there; look out, you blasted mushroom!" He points the dagger off against a wall. Stool is walking towards the area, curious to see what the commotion is about.
The area he points to is empty. In the dim light of the Underdark, it appears to just be the same rocky terrain you've become so used to. And then... it moves. You see rock color tentacles rise up, and a bulbous body move with them down the wall and towards the Myconid sprout. It doesn't make sense at first. This creature should not be out of the water? You have little time to dwell on the thought, as the rock octopus lashes a tentacle out at Stool.
Roll Initiative! (If you roll higher than the octopus, you can take your turn as well.) 20 - Jimjar 19 - Rock Octopus 14 - Shuushar 13 - Bupiddo 10 - Derendil 8 - Stool 7 - Eldeth 6 - Sarith
"Well, that's different..." mutters Jimjar, and he casts blur on himself as he runs to place himself between the sprout and the octopus.
The octopus lashes out at Jimjar with a rocky tentacle - Attack: 11 Bludgeoning Damage: 10
The deep gnome's spell confuses the creature, and the tentacles latch on to nothing. Shuushar begins to meditate in the middle of the cavern, while Bupiddo brandishes his dagger, and looks greedily at the octopus, saliva dripping from his mouth, but he takes no action.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC..going to be busy all day, so I'll post also my first turn before Belwar)
Griming is rushing front of the Octopus and attack it with his sword and his second hand. Sword: 20 ; damage 3....EDIT : critic !! Add 5 Left Hand: 14 ; damage 6
(EDIT: Sorry i added another dice due to the critic !!!)
The Octopus is covered in frost, and it's movements slow just a bit. (OOC Roll damage, and he has disadvantage on next attack) It suffers from the cold affecting it. (Octopus takes 5 damage, 47/52)
