Uthal stares down the man. "A decent offer, but why betray them? You say you can't give up Trevor but you'll give up the people he works with? Seems silly if you ask me."

He replied to Uthal with a rather snobbish attitude. "Yes, such things may seem silly, or incomprehensible, to one such as yourself, but it is actually quite easy to explain. Trevor is still useful. I believe I can still benefit from him. However, the Cathaanians are used up. He brought them here because they could offer a mystical power, and I have now acquired that power. They lost all standing in their own country, they have nothing more to offer. They are no longer useful."
The Emperor turned his chin up with a sharp movement and held up his hand, in a motion, bending his wrist and pointing his fingers downward. "I grow tired now. Do we have an agreement?"
Uthal raises a brow at the thinly veiled insult to his intelligence before moving past it. "How much trouble is Trevor worth, though? Like I said, he is a heretic, and a known one at that. I am the first of my order to come after him, do you think I will be the last? As you can tell, this type of work is not my forte, but we have others who specialize in it. Eventually the heresy will be expunged. How much do you want to put up with before we get our man? Is he really that useful?"

The Emperor yawns, patting his hand to his mouth. "Giant. This is Shinra. Your little order has can do nothing here. How much do I want to put up with before I rescind my offer?"
He snaps his fingers, and near full synchronization the crossbows of the guards on the balcony all noticeably direct their aim at Uthal.
A trap all along. Austin thought to herself as she saw their would-be guides standing with the emperor. She let her eyes scan the multitude of guards around the chamber and felt their chances were not looking good here. She pressed her back against the wall and waited to see what the others would do.
Ura catches the floating rings in the palm of her hand and holds them up towards the elf. "What if we agree to do this thing you're requesting of us? Why, we'd go from being thorns in your side to heroes of the kingdom, wouldn't we? A little payment for such a service would be in order, if you wanted to sweeten the deal you've offered. Haven't you heard that you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar before?"
She smiles broadly at the emperor, hoping that he'll buy into her offer.
Because Ura is totally not planning on helping the Emperor anyway, this should really be a deception roll:
The Emperor lets out a sarcastic laugh. "I am indeed growing tired of you, but you somehow continue to amuse, if only in the slightest."
He puts both of his hands on the stone railing of the balcony.
"If you agree, in order to ensure you never return, as is part of the agreement, you will all be declared enemies of the crown. Should you return to Wutai, you will be killed on sight. Agreeing to my terms allows you to leave with your lives. I make this gracious offer to you, as you seemed to have a motivation to see it through, but if payment is your motivator, I can just pay mercenaries already in my employment."
Ura's ploy to gain something further from the thin bargain was unsuccessful. The Emperor turned his back and spoke to a guard that had been standing next to him.
"I am bored now. Finish up with them, but don't tell me what the choose. I want to be surprised when I see if they're part of tomorrow's executions or not."
Uthal looks to Austin and then makes eyes on the door. He then walks forward a bit and gently pushes Ura back towards the others, making sure that all the crossbows are still trained upon him. "My order may not be here, but we serve someone greater than worldly kings. If you think you can kill me and get away from the wrath of the gods, you do not truly know anything. But fine, leave. Run, hide, brood. Eventually justice will arrive." If at this point Ura isn't back to the others he gives her a shove and casts Darkness over Ura, Austin, and Anearis, but not over the door itself.
If he has time he then tries to dive beneath a table.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Uthal: 18 ((2, incase changes occur due to adding the text after the initial roll post))
Unable to react quick enough to dive behind cover, Uthal would have to rely on his spell for concealment, as the guardmens on the balcony fired.
As a readied action to Uthal's sudden movements of grouping the party behind the visual effects of the darkness spell he cast, all 60 guardsmen equipped with crossbows trained on Uthal let their bolts fly. While the guardsmen were at a disadvantage no longer having visibility on the target, a majority missed their mark. However, 9 of the 60 projectiles managed to find Uthal's frame dealing a total damage of 46 damage. Uthal was already felled before the last 2 of the 9 even managed to hit him and break through his scale mail.
Seeing her ploy fail, Ura grimaces and raises her arms. Before she can cast her spell, she feels a shove and is encased in darkness. Swearing under her breath, she refocuses and concentrates, despite the darkness. It's a little disappointing that none of her companions can see the stone floor of the castle erupting, exploding outwards before reforming into a protective 15-foot dome around the party, blocking the sight of the soldiers.
Or at least, that's what it looks like when she casts silent image around everyone.
"We need to move," Ura says into the darkness, sweating a bit. "That won't fool them for long!"
Having barely the time to react, Anearis doubles back in the direction of the exit. When he gets close to Austin, he pats her shoulder and she suddenly feels lighter, as if for every step, she is carried by the wind.
Austin frowns at all of the action in such a burst. She does not know what it is all for, they could have simply left, without having to do all of this,, but moves with the others.
The darkness fades as Uthal passes out, and Ura blinks, then curses. She rushes to the giant's side, nimble fingers already spooling out her Healer's Kit to stabilize him before he can bleed out on the stone floor. As soon as she's done, she shouts "ALRIGHT ALRIGHT! YIELD! Just don't kill the big guy!", though she does still disengage and attempt to pull Uthal's unconscious form behind her illusory barrier. "Gimmie a hand here!" she grunts, unable to get the lumbering hulk to move despite her best efforts.
Ura successfully stabilizes Uthal and then does her best to drag his unconscious body closer in.
A voice calls out from beyond the darkness and illusions. It's not one the party had heard previously, but it comes from above on the balcony, near where the Emperor had previously been standing. "And what of the Emperor's gracious offer? Do you accept, or will you be giving yourself to the executioners block in the morning?"
There is no sound of additional movement that the party can make out around them.
"This guy is the reason Tymora created middle fingers,"Ura mutters to the others lowly. She seems about to open her mouth to yell some kind of vile insult back, but since she's out of breath from dragging Uthal, there's a very safe chance one of the others could stop her before she soils the bargaining table with her verbal barrage.
Is the table under the illusion? If so,, and no one is currently dieing, then Austin steps over and stuffs anything she can grab into her pack. If the table is not under the illusion, then ignore that as she would not do so. "It seems we have no choice then." Austin calls back.

Anearis will help drag Uthal’s oversized body back. The situation looking extremely dicey, he calls out to the guard in charge.
"If we agree to the terms of your ruler, what guarantee do we have that you will let us go?"
