Uthal looks back at the party and sees them all looking off to the side of the road. He decides it's probably best to not be right at the choke point and begins to move back towards the group. Seeing they have arrows knocked he draws his sling and plops a stone in to it, watching for movement.

"Hey,"Ura whispers to Anaeris. "Maybe you should scout a little and see if you can find what the noise is about. I'm going to check out our little green friend and the carnage over there. I'll come back and share what I find with the rest of you."
Ura, in a bout of bad decision making, decides it is a fantastic idea to be at the chokepoint, and tries her best to remain hidden using what obstacles and shadows she can find along the way, until she reaches the corpse and the wreck of the other wagon. She then crouches down and begins to thoroughly search everything, trying to piece together the story of what actually happened at the crossing from the object the goblin was holding, the remains of the wagon, the spread of the blood splatter, and any other clues she can visually gather.

As Ura separates from the party and nears the new goblin corpse, certain pieces of the scene become more apparent. Beyond the ox, having been previously out of view, another goblin lay in a pool of blood, two arrows sticking out of its chest. The physical wreckage on the ground includes several identifiable items, including an opened map case, a smashed pair of spectacles, various ripped and torn pieces of clothing. However, more questions than answers are provided when Ura notices, several smaller pools and blood trails, without any known sources; and evidence of drag marks, stretching from the scene, into the tree line to the southwest.
As Ura crouched beside the corpse to inspect it closer, an angry shout, in that same foreign language, rang out. At that tree line beyond the wreckage, two more goblins stood. Both, seemingly unaware of Aneris atop the cliff, and the remaining party still by the wagon, stare at Ura and the newly deceased goblin. One (G1) draws a small crude blade, while the other (G2), who appeared to be nursing a wound on its side, works to pull a bow down from its shoulder and notch an arrow.

Atop the cliff forming the southern part of the choke point, Anearis sees the two goblin coming out of the tree line. Running to the edge of the hill, Anearis readies an arrow and once he’s in position, he fires it at the wounded goblin.

G2 doesn’t even get a chance to draw back the bow, as Anearis’s arrow strikes into his chest, knocking him to the ground, and ending his life. G1, seeing another of his kind taken down effortlessly, summons all of his courage and charges at Ura, sword drawn. As he does so he lets out a mangled yell of rage and anguish.
Seeing the goblin charge Ura, Uthal steps in to make it back down. He swings his hammer down but makes sure that the blow is more disabling than killing, aiming for the goblins sword arm to disarm it.

The goblin (G1) never stood a chance as Ander charged down with the horse and lance in hand. The lance impales the goblin, dragging its body, as the horse eventually led to a slow, through the scene of wreckage.
The noise from the woods to the southwest had since subsided and the party was left alone, amid the carnage.
Ura first crouches down to the goblin Anaeris shot down and binds him with her rope, relieving him of all of his weapons and valuables.
"You might want to stablize this guy if we want to have any chance of questioning him about this wagon attack," Ura tells Uthal as she drags the hapless goblin back with her.
She then goes to the two other slain goblins and goes through their bodies thoroughly, still looking for clues as to what happened here on them. She also keeps an eye out on the ground where the two goblins had been talking in the forest before they rushed the group, looking for tracks.
Investigation: 24 (Besides looting the corpses, specifically: do the ruins of the wagon / strewn clothing etc look small (goblin)-sized, or medium (human)-sized?)
Uthal places a hand on the goblin and casts spare the dying. He then looks up and around at the forest. "If we just want me to do that it might take a while for him to wake. We should keep moving while we wait."

Among the wreckage of the scene, Ura manages to identify that the clothing scattered about was of similar size and make to that being worn by the goblins. And the arrows in the cart and ground are beyond use, but are not the same as those located on the goblin's persons.
Following the tracks, it is obvious that someone or something was dragged into the tree lines, but Ura was unable to discern anything from beyond that. The now hog-tied goblin (G2), was successfully brought back from the brink of depth, by Uthal, but is unconscious. The other two, unfortunately, were well past the point of return, one with a lance hole through his chest, and the other with an arrow having pierced her skull. All of the goblins all appear to have wounds caused by something other than the party, possibly having occurred during whatever caused the wreckage around them.
Between the three goblins that the party killed, you all find 2 Crude Goblin Arrows (-1 to attack roll when using these), a Crude Goblin Scimitar (1d6), a copper nose ring on G1 (still in the creature's nose, and would require removal), and a wooden ring on the left hand of the goblin that Ura first shot without warning. As Ura, crouches to inspect this initial goblin, and retrieve her arrow from it's skull, she finally sees what the goblin was holding, and what now lay bundled up, beneath its corpse. The item is wrapped in a bundle of leather and cloth, with only its face visible. It is, or rather was, a goblin infant, likely not even a year old. Its eyes were closed, and its throat still had the broken head of an arrow sticking through it.
On further inspection, Ura's face pales as she begins to comprehend the whole story. She sees the others approaching to ask questions, but waves them off, covering her mouth. Then she stumbles off to the side of the forest and begins to retch violently. When she's done relieving herself of the contents of her stomach, she stands up, but doesn't feel much better.
There's a little movement in her pocket, and Dilthen scrambles out, climbing rapidly up her arm to sit on her shoulder and nibble at her ear. The mouse has seen Ura having a hard time before, and is able to sense that now is one of those times. "Thanks,"she mumbles miserably to her small companion as it nibbles gently on one of her earlobes. Taking a deep breath, she turns around and faces the others.
"... I think the wagon belonged to them. They... were a family,"she continues, more subdued than usual. "I don't know if any of you speak goblin, but it might be a mercy to let that one die, rather than see what happened to the rest of his family. Whoever attacked them before us... they killed a baby." She covers her mouth after saying that, stomach twisting again, but fortunately there's nothing left to come out but a few dry heaves and flecks of spittle.
Rather than looting the bodies, Ura begins to silently gather them together, still hunched over and uncharacteristically quiet. She does remove the arrow from the female goblin's head, though she snaps it in half afterwards. When one of the others tries to ask her for more detail about her findings, she straightens up, her temper flaring. "They were ambushed, all right? And we hit them when they were down! I told you to hit them, because I did the exact same thing people always did to me! These creatures were in my way, and I knew I was stronger than them, so I stepped on them and got them out of the picture!" She stops, clenches her fist, and lets out an inarticulate scream of frustration.
Then, panting, she doggedly ignores the others and continues to gather scraps of wood and the bodies of the dead goblins, making a makeshift pyre to burn the corpses. The dead child she arranges in the arms of the mother she slew, and she covers the rest of the bodies with some scraps of cloth from their wagon. Then, sprinkling her last remaining flask of oil over the bodies, she steps back and lights her torch, setting the pyre aflame.
Ander dismounts to survey the scene. "We should try to figure out who or what attacked them. This..."He gestures at the carnage. "...looks like it happened recently. The attackers could still be in the area." Ander goes to examine the wounds on the older corpses, and the arrows sticking out of them. "Don't burn anything just yet."

From atop the hill, Anearis watches the scene and begins to feel ashamed of his action. They may have been goblins, but they hadn't done anything to deserve death. He turns around and scouts ahead, following the trail of the dragged person the group had found earlier.
Uthal looks down at the goblin at his feat. He then looks back to the others. "I'll let this one decide for himself if he wants to go on. If he doesn't I'll end it for him again. Sometimes there are those who pick themselves up and refuse to die when they should. Sometimes they can be what is needed later on." His voice grows uncharacteristically soft towards the end of his statement.

As the party attempts to piece together what had transpired, prior to their arrival, speculation alone seemed to be the only way they were getting any answers. None were able to figure out anything further regarding what or who was dragged into the tree line, and the tracks themselves seemed to disappear just going in the Southwest direction.
Among the wreckage, other than the unusable arrows, nothing had been identified as belonging to someone other than the goblin’s, whom the party, or at least Ura, had deduced to be the wagon’s owner.
On the road itself, there is evidence of horse and wagon tracks, other than the goblin’s, that seem continue down the road, in the direction that the party was originally going towards.
With the trail gone cold, Anearis heads back to the others and climbs down the hill.
"I’m afraid we won’t find anything more by standing here. We should press on as soon as possible." He then looks at Ura, who seems to take all of this pretty badly.
"I understand that you’re upset. Perhaps we’ll find more clues by following these tracks here."
