" Perhaps if we go after the Loners first we can have them assist us in getting rid of the masses in the villages. Loners don't care much for big crowds either. They might also provide us with some useful information about where we might find the most hostile crooks so we can be wary of them before we enter into the collective throng of them." Charisma offers.
“Maybe skip the torture...” Edith says slowly. “Why don’t we just scare them, or persuade them. Charisma makes a good point. The village would also be a good place to start. If we set up a base there to work from, we could gather all the people there and walk them out all together. That way we could make sure no one escapes or doubles back in. Unless there’s to many people..” She pauses deep in thought. After awhile she says “I’m rolling! May I borrow a Die?”
"Are we strong enough to take on a village though?" Mystwaen asks. "We will deal with those thieves eventually, but I'd like to avoid getting any of us killed."
"I think the loaners is a good place to start. Any information gained from them will help in clearing the village. Coz I think clearing a village will be tougher than we think. Might have to employ some unusual tactics for that one."Rasskan chimes in with his opinion.
Wil chuckles to himself, "We could skip the torture, but what's the fun in that. Anyway, it sounds like we have a consensus--to the loners." He then uncovers his die and reveals a 1. "Hmm. Snake eyes, good thing we didn't go with the die on this one. Shall we?" He then turns and prepares himself to leave.
(You guys will notice there's a map on the campaign page now. I'll post it here also. This map is just a basic guide at this point. You don't know if it's really to scale or what may be hidden in all the trees, but I'll fill in the map and it will become more accurate over time the more you learn)
With an agreement to look for the loners you head through the gate. It hasn't been discussed how you're going to find these loners so why don't Bogue and Edith give me survival checks (since they have the best modifiers) as you all start heading down the road. Searching for any indication of tracks or trails leading from the main road.
(Since I didn't hear any dissension, Charisma is carrying the Alchemy Jug(and flask since they kind of go together) Bogue is carrying the amulet. Who has the rope of entanglement?)
"This jug is a lot heavier than I thought it would be" Charisma picks up the "empty" ceramic jug. She peers into it as the sound of sloshing liquid echoes from within. "How peculiar!" She runs her hands over all the different spouts and corks. "I wonder if I laced the rope around these I could make a sort of carrying net to it." As she begins to untangle the rope of entanglement, she shakes her head. "That is not an undertaking I can manage. Thirty feet of rope is quite long. I'm going to end up tying myself up in all this rope if I'm not careful." She loops the portion of the rope she unravelled back around her arm. " Honestly it should be free and accessible so we can launch it when needed" She tosses it towards Rasskan. " You look like you've lassoed some evil doers in your day."
Charisma rummages through her bag to make room for the rope, pulling out an assortment of odd trinkets and tools. Once she makes space for the jug she snuggly packs everything back in around it.
"You don't think it will spill in there, do you?" She looks hopefully at her companions. "This is the first time I've ever been in charge of carrying an alchemist jug."
After only about 15 minutes of walking Edith see's clear signs of a trail heading almost perpendicular to the left of the main trail they are on. It looks like there are 3 distinct sets of tracks. Booted medium sized humanoid. All leading away into the woods. No tracks headed back out. They look to be maybe 3 days old.
Edith kneels down to look closer at them. “There’s some tracks here.” She says to the group. “They are going the same way so far but to the left of the main trail and a few days old. It doesn’t look like they came back this way.” She adds standing back up.
Everyone starts heading down the side path. It is generally moving in the direction of the mountain which you can see poking up above the trees every now and again. After a few minutes of walking you hear a distinct click. Without warning a dart flies from somewhere headed towards 3 Edith. Attack: 16 Dmg:2
The dart misses Edith and embeds itself into a tree along the path. As Edith lifts her foot she sees the small pressure plate she triggered.
(From this point on I'll need a marching order. I will suggest one and if anyone wants to make changes to it just let know. As we continue it will be assumed that's way everyone is arranged unless someone specifies differently)
Charisma pulls the dart from the tree where it stuck next to her. "Well, on that scale of one to ten, I'd guess this shows they are closer to a ten. This dart is pretty crudely fashioned but if Edith was a might bit taller it would have done some major damage." She runs her finger along the pointed tip. "We might want to take some lessons from good old Prince Humperdink. He thinks everything is a trap. That's why he's still alive"
She removes her pack lays on her belly to be nearly eye level with the ground.

"Not dead is good... So..." Bogue taps out the strange weed from his pipe, and sets his armor straight. "... To the loaners then?"

As we walk, Wil is making sure to stay right next to Charisma

(Charisma, your adventurers gear does include rope if you want to cut off a section for that purpose, but you also have a backpack)

(Thanks for reminding me)

Edith smiles and shrugs. "I have no idea." she starts looking at the path for any signs of tracks or paths leading away from the main one.

"Let's follow them," Mystwaen says, swinging her axe.
"Sounds like a good place to get started," Charisma adjusts her pack on her back and follows Edith and Mystwaen onto the narrow trail.
She pulls a branch of thorns clear for Wil, who is by her side. "So, on a scale of one to ten, how dangerous do you think these thieves really are? "
