“An undead masquerade is way too creepy fer’ me to process,” Jairus says under his breath. “Nope nope nope. Just gonna shoot a few bolts of nope and nope this whole creepy situation away.”
The star-shaped cavern ahead has many clefts in its walls. Only two, across the cavern, seem large enough to traverse. Three zombies lurch about the area. One is costumed like a bear, another is dressed as a lady in a frilly dress and thick makeup, and the last is costumed as a jester with jingling bells on its collar and sleeves
(Does this mean we are still single file or no?)

Kethra makes her way to the front and tries to focus herself for another rage but hesitates at Flower-of-Ivory's words. "...so these guys could be just...really sick and are just trying to make the most of this situation? Did the one near the entrance just attack Jairus because he was sleeping?"

Jairus rememberers his Zhentarim training, involving intimidation and sinister turns of phrase. “These folks are sick with undeath. And I’ve got the cure right here. My crossbow that is. And y’all with your weapons and spells as well. Collective like, we’re the cure.” He doesn’t stick the landing on this, he feels.
Being stopped by Flower-of-Ivory's words but then following her actions, Kethra sticks a javelin at the same zombie then uses it as leverage to kick it (but will change targets if it died).
Leaving the javelin and drawing a handaxe, she waves it at the nearest zombie. "A-Are you bad people? Speak now if you can!"
(What's the position of the three zombies? I want to get right in there and engage 2 of them if possible, but if the room's big enough, I'll stay out of the way from an area attack.)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: I have noted the 2 HP lost on my sheet.
Jairus fires at the zombie Kethra attacked, he incurs no penalty for firing while being threatened in melee due to Crossbow Master, and elects to shoot the Zombie Kethra attacked in order to try for Sneak Attack, and to focus fire on one target until it drops before moving on to the next. If it falls he targets the other zombie next to her. He makes the second attack a sneak attack.

That was my assumption when you noted for us all to proceed after the zombie action. Had there been no zombies near an ally enabling sneak attack I would have waited to see if any closed to melee. With Kethra already adjacent to two it seemed prudent to proceed and get mine out of the way.
(( Cool, then I'll go ahead and take Tyrael's action. ))
As the room is getting crowded, Tyrael will stay back and use his eldritch blast to hit the other damaged zombie. After doing so, he'll keep an eye out behind the group.
Attack: 11 / damage: 5

OOC: I'm sorry but the lack of a set intiative order is WAY too confusing for me. I don't know who's attacked what or what is dead or not. It's making ZERO sense. I also Lasair was in the middle flanking Flower or staying close by.
Loading her sling Lasair moves 30ft short of the action and launches a stone at whatever zombie is still up. Attack: 12 Damage: 4

(To allow for different dex/init mods. If there were more than one type of monster in a given fight, 1 or more PCs could be sandwiched in between their initiative and it wouldn't always be group initiative. Just within PC group initiative it's easier to allow flexibility because of how PbP works.)

Sliding her hand down to the base of the axe blade, Kethra manages to stop one zombie attack by using the handle to protect her forearm, but takes a glancing blow from the other one (cuz it was a 1 from damage).
With one zombie beside her down and the other giving her space like a "large woman", Kethra goes axe crazy at it.
Attack: 18 Damage: 4
Bonus action unarmed strike attack: 11 Damage: 5

OOC: That makes sense, and seems like a pretty decent balance between group initiative and still allocating separate initiatives to account for variant initiative bonuses, works for me.

(You are single file, but Jairus left enough space for you to enter the room.)

Drop javelin, pull out hand axe.
(The room is quite small, you can easily get into melee with two of them.)
Kethra sticks her javelin in the zombie and leaves it there, then kicks him solidly.
Two of the zombies will turn their attention on the large, angry woman in front of them, and the other will shamble over to Jairus.
